  • Acoustic | Sound-Absorbing PET Panel | Linear Pattern | Slatted Surface | 300x300x9mm | Black

    Code: ES-TX-339

    Acoustic PET fibre panel with raised longitudinal rib relief is intended to reduce room echo, reverberation and some unwanted sound reflections. The panel is made of pressed PET polyester fibre and can be used as a functional and decorative acoustic finish for walls or ceilings.

    Parallel raised longitudinal ribs and the recesses between them create a slat-style pattern and a rhythmic linear surface. The panels can be oriented vertically or horizontally and combined into larger compositions with a continuous linear pattern.

    Important information about the intended use:
    The PET acoustic panel is intended to improve room acoustics by reducing echo, reverberation and some sound reflections. It does not provide complete sound insulation between rooms and does not replace a massive, sealed and multilayer sound-insulating construction.
    Important information about thickness:
    The specification states a 9 mm thickness. Because the panel has a raised surface profile, it is recommended to clarify whether 9 mm is the total panel thickness up to the highest point of the rib or the thickness of the main PET material.
    Important information about flammability:
    The supplied information describes the panel as flame-retardant, but no specific reaction-to-fire class, test standard or certificate is stated. Where fire-safety requirements apply to a project, the product test documentation must be consulted.
    Important composition information:
    The supplied information states that up to 60% of the panel composition may be made from recycled PET bottles. The exact recycled-material content may depend on the production batch.

    Acoustic operating principle

    When sound waves reach the porous PET polyester fibre structure, part of their energy enters the interwoven fibres and is attenuated within the material. This helps reduce the intensity of sound reflections returning from walls or ceilings and the perception of echo in the room.

    The raised longitudinal rib relief divides the completely flat surface into repeating linear zones. The parallel ribs and recesses give the surface greater geometric depth, while the PET fibre structure performs the main sound-absorbing function.

    The actual acoustic result depends on the area covered with panels, room size, wall and ceiling materials, furniture, installation location, PET fibre density, air gap and sound frequency.

    Sound absorption and sound insulation are not the same:
    The PET acoustic panel helps reduce sound reflections generated inside the room, but it does not block all sound travelling through the wall. Sound insulation requires sealed and massive wall, ceiling or floor constructions.

    Raised longitudinal rib relief

    The panel surface features evenly spaced raised longitudinal ribs. The narrower grooves between the ribs create a repeating profiled surface.

    • creates a clear rhythm of longitudinal lines;
    • divides the continuous surface into parallel strips;
    • gives the panel a more pronounced three-dimensional profile;
    • allows the overall pattern direction to be changed by rotating the panel;
    • suitable for continuous compositions of vertical or horizontal lines;
    • complements modern, minimalist and technical interiors.

    Slat-style pattern

    The parallel raised strips visually resemble narrow wall slats, so the surface may be described as a slat-style pattern. The panel is not made from separate wooden or plastic slats — the slat effect is created by a continuously formed PET fibre profile.

    The slat-style surface gives the panel a neat, repeating and directional design. By installing several panels in the same orientation, a continuous wall of parallel lines can be created.

    By rotating adjacent panels by 90°, combinations of horizontal and vertical lines, square blocks or other modular geometric compositions can be created.

    Important information about the name:
    The term “slat-style pattern” describes the appearance of the panel. It is not a construction made from separate slats — the entire relief is formed from a single PET fibre panel.

    Linear surface design

    The repeating ribs create a parallel-line pattern, which gives the surface a visual direction. Vertically installed lines can make the wall appear taller, while horizontal lines can emphasise the width of the room.

    This profile may also be described as:

    • a ribbed linear surface;
    • a parallel-line relief;
    • a grooved linear pattern;
    • a corrugated linear profile;
    • a vertical-strip relief;
    • a PET surface imitating slats.
    Recommended description:
    Raised longitudinal rib relief with a slat-style parallel-line pattern

    PET polyester fibre construction

    The panel is made from pressed PET polyester fibre. It is more rigid and retains its shape better than soft polyurethane foam.

    • porous fibre structure for absorbing part of the sound energy;
    • rigid, shape-retaining construction;
    • raised longitudinal rib relief;
    • slat-style linear pattern;
    • can be oriented vertically or horizontally;
    • up to 60% of the composition may consist of recycled PET material;
    • the black colour suits modern and technical interiors.

    Calculating the required quantity

    The projected area of one 300×300 mm panel is 0.09 m². Theoretically, approximately 11.1 panels would be required to cover 1 m², so in practice it is recommended to allow 12 panels per square metre, excluding cutting and installation losses.

    Number of panels Approximate area
    1 pc. 0.09 m²
    6 pcs. 0.54 m²
    12 pcs. 1.08 m²
    24 pcs. 2.16 m²
    48 pcs. 4.32 m²

    Installation

    1. Prepare the surface. The wall or ceiling must be dry, clean and stable.
    2. Choose the line direction. The ribs can be oriented vertically or horizontally.
    3. Plan the pattern. The lines of adjacent panels can be continued in the same direction or alternated.
    4. Mark the position of the first panel. Use a spirit level or laser level.
    5. Use suitable adhesive or fasteners. They must be compatible with the PET fibre and the substrate material.
    6. Press the panel evenly. Do not compress or deform the raised ribs.
    7. Align the panels with one another. The lines and gaps must form a continuous composition.
    8. Check the fastening. The panels must not detach, bend or hang loosely.

    Cleaning and maintenance

    • Remove dust with a vacuum cleaner fitted with a soft, low-suction attachment.
    • Clean dust accumulated in the recesses with a soft brush, moving along the lines.
    • Do not press or deform the raised ribs.
    • Do not use excessive water or spray cleaning products directly onto the panel.
    • Do not use solvents, petrol or acetone.
    • Keep away from open flames and strong heat sources.

    FAQ – frequently asked questions

    Is this a foam panel?
    No. It is made from pressed PET polyester fibre, not polyurethane foam.
    What is the most accurate name for the surface profile?
    The most accurate description is raised longitudinal rib relief.
    Can it be called a slat-style pattern?
    Yes. The raised parallel strips visually resemble narrow slats, but the panel is not made from separate slats.
    Is the term “linear pattern” appropriate?
    Yes. Parallel longitudinal lines repeat across the surface, so it may be described as a slat-style linear pattern.
    Can the panel be rotated horizontally?
    Yes. Rotating the panel by 90° creates a horizontal line pattern.
    Does this panel insulate sound between rooms?
    No. It is intended to reduce room echo and sound reflections, not to stop all sound travelling through a wall.

    Acoustic PET panel with raised longitudinal rib relief and a slat-style linear pattern

    The acoustic PET fibre panel is intended to absorb part of the sound travelling through a room and reduce reflections from walls and ceilings.

    The parallel raised ribs create a slat-style linear pattern that gives the surface a directional, rhythmic and modern design. The panels can be installed vertically, horizontally or with alternating orientations.

    The pressed PET fibre construction is more rigid than soft foam and is suitable for decorative acoustic wall and ceiling finishing. Up to 60% of the panel composition may consist of recycled PET material.

    The panel improves room acoustics but is not a complete sound-insulation system. For precise acoustic or fire-safety design, documentation relating to sound absorption, reaction to fire, material emissions and the total profile thickness must be checked.
