Circuit breaker accessories – how to choose
Accessories let you connect circuit breakers in the board quickly and neatly, send their status to a control system, or trip them remotely.
What each accessory does
Accessory Purpose Busbar (comb busbar), U-type (fork) or I-type (pin) Feeds a row of breakers from a single supply instead of separate wire jumpers End cap Insulates the open end of the busbar – mandatory after cutting the busbar Auxiliary contact Signals the breaker position (on / off) to a controller or indicator Shunt trip (24 V or 230 V) Trips the breaker by remote signal – for emergency stop and fire alarm systems Undervoltage release Trips the breaker when voltage is lost or drops – prevents equipment from restarting on its own Interlock Prevents two breakers from being switched on at the same time (e.g. mains / generator) ⚠ How to choose a busbar
Parameter What to check Number of poles 1P for single-phase circuits, 3P for three-phase circuits or phase distribution Cross-section and current 10 mm² or 16 mm² – according to the supply current (e.g. 10 mm² busbar up to 63 A) Contact type U-type (fork) or I-type (pin) – must match the breaker terminal Length 6, 12, 18, 54, 57 modules; a long busbar can be cut to length and fitted with an end cap ⚠ Trips and auxiliary contacts attach to a breaker of a specific series. Choose accessories from the same manufacturer and series.
