Ballasts for T8 fluorescent lamps

A ballast starts a fluorescent lamp and limits its current. When the ballast fails, the lamp flickers, takes long to light or does not light at all. This group contains electronic ballasts for T8 lamps with a G13 base.

How to choose

ℹ An electronic ballast starts the lamp without flicker or noise, so no starter is needed. Starters are required only for electromagnetic chokes, see starters. For T5 lamps – T5 ballasts.

⚠ Replacing with LED tubes? Check which type of LED tube it is. Some work with the existing electronic ballast; for others the ballast must be bypassed and 230 V connected directly. See LED lamps T8.

⚡ Disconnect the luminaire from the power supply before replacing the ballast. The wiring diagram is printed on the ballast housing.
