Painted steel deflectors and bases
Painted steel deflectors have an additional paint coating that gives them colour and provides extra protection for the metal. The brown colour matches brown tiles and metal roofs, so the deflector does not stand out against the roof. They work the same way as galvanised ones: the head with ball bearings turns in the wind and extracts air from the duct.

- The deflector D must match the duct diameter.
- If the duct ends at roof level, add a painted base of the same D.
- Protect the paint coating during installation: touch up scratches with repair paint.

The deflectors in this category are designed for ventilation ducts – to extract humid and warm air. Do not install them on stove, fireplace or boiler flues: hot flue gases and acidic condensate will damage them, creating a risk of fire and carbon monoxide.

- Roof work is work at height: use fall protection equipment and do not install in strong wind, rain or when the roof is icy.
- Fix mechanically (with screws, rivets or a clamp), not with sealant alone.
- Seal the joint with the roof covering using a sealant resistant to UV and temperature changes.
Frequently asked questions
Are painted deflectors more corrosion-resistant than galvanised ones?
The paint coating is an additional protective layer on the metal, so protection is better as long as the coating is undamaged. It is important not to scratch the coating during installation.
What if the coating gets scratched during installation?
Clean the scratch and apply repair paint designed for metal – this will prevent rust.
Are other colours available?

Which bearings are used in these deflectors?
Ball bearings – the same as in the galvanised models. Low friction lets the head rotate smoothly even in lighter wind.
