Analog signal to Modbus RTU converter | 4 inputs 0-10VDC/0-20mA/PWM + 4 PT500/PT1000 | 24VDC PoM | DIN rail | IP30 | Sentera Controls | DADCM-44
DADCM-44 – a Sentera Controls DIN rail converter that turns analog and temperature signals into Modbus RTU registers. It has 4 universal inputs 0-10 VDC / 0-20 mA / PWM and 4 temperature inputs PT500/PT1000; the input types are selected via Modbus RTU.
Key idea:
The converter collects analog sensors and PT500/PT1000 temperature probes from the surroundings of the control panel and provides their values to a BMS or Sentera controller over a single Modbus line – no PLC with analog inputs is needed.Inputs
4 × 0-10 VDC/0-20 mA/PWM + 4 × PT500/PT1000Communication
Modbus RTU (RS485)Power supply
24 VDC PoM, Imax 40 mAInstallation / protection
DIN rail, IP30Operating principle
The converter is mounted on a DIN rail (EN 60715) and connected to the Modbus RTU line with two RJ45 connectors or terminals A, /B, GND, 24 VDC; it receives its 24 VDC supply over the same line (Power over Modbus, Imax 40 mA). Wires – up to 1.5 mm², strip length 8 mm.
Inputs Ai1–Ai4 accept a 0-10 VDC, 0-20 mA or PWM (5 kHz) signal – the type is selected via Modbus RTU, input resistance 150 kΩ. Inputs Ti1–Ti4 are for PT500 or PT1000 temperature sensors – the temperature is read directly, without separate converters.
Result – all measured values are provided in Modbus registers read by the BMS or the Sentera main controller, and only a single RS485 line runs to the BMS. The status is shown by the ON, TX and RX LEDs; the registers can be reset with a jumper P4 (not supplied) on pins 1–2 for ≥20 s.
Benefits DADCM-44?
One module brings 4 analog signals and 4 PT500/PT1000 temperature points onto Modbus. Fewer cables to the BMS controller and a simpler wiring diagram.Technical specifications

Main functions
- Universal inputs – 0-10 VDC, 0-20 mA or PWM – type selected via Modbus.
- PT500 / PT1000 inputs – direct connection of temperature probes.
- Power over Modbus – 24 VDC and data over a single cable.
- Two RJ45 connectors – convenient line extension from module to module.
- LED indication – power and data exchange are visible at a glance.
- Terminal connection – terminals A, /B, GND, 24 VDC can be used instead of RJ45.
- Register reset – factory settings are restored with jumper P4 on pins 1–2 for ≥20 s.
Where is it used?
- Connecting analog sensors (pressure, humidity, CO₂) to a Modbus BMS
- Water, air and surface temperature measurement with PT500/PT1000 probes
- Automation of air handling units and heating substations
- Integrating older analog systems into Modbus
- Supply and return water temperature measurement in a heat substation with PT1000 probes
- Outdoor, supply, extract and exhaust air temperature measurement of a ventilation unit
On-demand operation
For heat substation automation commissioning engineers.
PT500 / PT1000 probes connect directly – no separate temperature transmitters are needed.For ventilation unit manufacturers.
Four air temperature and four analog signals in a single DIN module.For the energy monitoring contractor.
Temperature and analog signal values are available via Modbus for logging.Practical application
If in a ventilation unit the outdoor, supply, extract and exhaust air temperatures have to be measured with PT1000 probes, plus the 0-10 VDC signals of two pressure transmitters, then a single DADCM-44 passes everything to Modbus: the probes via Ti1–Ti4, the pressure transmitters via Ai1 and Ai2.Application guide: how it is used in practice
The DADCM-44 only ever reads signals and presents them via Modbus – what changes is the connected sensors:
Site What is connected Result Installer's note Duct ventilation system Pressure transmitter 0-10 VDC → Ai1 Pressure is visible in the BMS Set the input type via Modbus Humidity / CO₂ control 0-20 mA sensors → Ai2–Ai4 Several rooms – one module Check the power supply of the sensors Heating substation PT1000 supply and return probes → Ti1–Ti2 Temperatures are read via Modbus Match the PT500 / PT1000 type to the probe Air handling unit PT1000 outdoor and supply air probes → Ti3–Ti4 Temperature data for the BMS and controller Wires up to 1.5 mm² How to choose a signal converter
Task Recommended model Modbus → 1 analog output, surface mounting, IP65 MDACM1 (1 × 0-10 V / 0-20 mA / PWM) Modbus → 3 analog outputs, DIN rail DDACM-03 (3 outputs, non-isolated) Modbus → 3 galvanically isolated outputs, DIN DDACM-I3 (3 isolated outputs) 8 analog inputs → Modbus, DIN DADCM-08 (4 Ai/Di + 4 Ai) 4 analog + 4 temperature (PT500/PT1000) inputs → Modbus DADCM-44 (4 Ai/Di + 4 Ti) ← this model Rule: if you only need to read 0-10 VDC / 0-20 mA signals – DADCM-08 (8 channels); if some points are PT500/PT1000 temperature probes – DADCM-44. To convert a Modbus command into an analog output – MDACM1 / DDACM series.When to choose another solution: for analog outputs from Modbus – DDACM-03, DDACM-I3, MDACM1; for digital inputs / outputs – DIO-M-D4, DIO-M-R2.Pros
- Input types are selected via Modbus
- Direct PT500/PT1000 connection
- Power over Modbus (PoM)
- 2 × RJ45 – convenient line extension
- DIN rail
Cons / limitations
- Inputs only – for analog outputs choose DDACM-03 / DDACM-I3
- IP30 – indoors / panel only
- A master Modbus device that reads the registers is required
- Temperature inputs are PT500 / PT1000 only; for more analog channels – DADCM-08
Safety and installation notes
- Installation and connection are to be carried out by a qualified electrician or automation specialist with the power disconnected.
- Do not exceed the power of the Power over Modbus (PoM) supply – add up the currents of all devices powered on the line.
- For indoor use only, -5…+65 °C, 5–85 % rH, non-condensing.
- Perform the register reset (jumper P4) only as instructed.

Modbus RTU4 × 0-10 V / 0-20 mA / PWM4 × PT500/PT100024 VDC PoMDINIP30Suitable when you need:- to connect analog sensors to a Modbus BMS;
- to read PT500/PT1000 temperature probes via Modbus;
- to reduce the amount of cabling to the controller.
Check before use:- the output type of the sensors (V, mA, PWM, PT500/PT1000);
- the number of channels;
- the power reserve of the PoM power supply.
Important reminder: The DADCM-44 is not a controller – it only presents the measured values in Modbus registers.FAQ
How is the input type selected?
The type of inputs Ai1–Ai4 (0-10 VDC, 0-20 mA or PWM) is selected via Modbus RTU registers.Can PT1000 sensors be connected?
