Ceiling fan speed switch | Sentera Controls | ECA-1-10-AC
ECA-1-10-AC – Sentera Controls ceiling fan speed switch for single-phase AC fans up to 1.0 A (max. 150 W). Supplied with 230 VAC, it has 4 speeds and 2 OFF positions (0-4-3-2-1-0), protected by a 1.25 A fuse.
Key idea:
This is a manual stepped selector switch: one of four speeds is selected with a single knob, and the off positions at both ends make it easy to switch the fan off by turning in either direction. The manufacturer states very quiet motor operation.What it is for ECA-1-10-AC:
This model is intended for low-power fans (up to 1.0 A / 150 W) – one or two duct or axial fans in an office, bathroom, kitchen or small room.Max. current / load
1.0 A / 150 WPower supply
230 VAC, 50–60 HzSpeeds
4 + 2 OFF (0-4-3-2-1-0)Protection
IP44 / IP54Operating principle
The switch is wall-mounted in the room and connected between the 230 VAC supply (L, N) and the fan motor (M, N).
Unlike EC potentiometers, this is a power device – the motor current (up to 1.0 A) flows through it, so the motor current and power are the main selection criteria.
Each knob position corresponds to a fixed average output voltage: 4 – 230 VAC, 3 – 108 VAC, 2 – 60 VAC, 1 – 12 VAC, 0 – 0 VAC. The actual voltage depends on the characteristics of the connected motor (cos φ).
Engineer's note: at the lowest steps (12 and 60 VAC) not every motor will start – during commissioning check that the fan reliably turns in all positions.
Benefits ECA-1-10-AC?
Simple, low-cost and quiet 4-speed control for ceiling fans without any programming – with a replaceable fuse and a spare fuse in the holder.Technical specifications

A simple solution for ceiling fans without automation.Application guide: how it is used in practice
ECA-1-10-AC can be adapted to different sites – only the connected fan changes:
Site What is connected Result Installer's note Living room with a ceiling fan Motor → M, N; 230 VAC → L, N 4 speeds and OFF with a single knob Check that the motor turns at step 1 Café or restaurant One ceiling fan up to 1.0 A Speed according to the number of visitors and the season For surface mounting – IP54 A group of several small fans Several identical fans in parallel → M, N All run at the same speed Total current ≤ 1.0 A, power ≤ 150 W Room with a larger fan Fan > 1.0 A ECA-1-10-AC is not suitable Choose a higher-current transformer or electronic speed controller How to select the controller current
Rated current of the motor(s) Recommended model 4 speeds needed for a ceiling AC fan up to 1.0 A / 150 W ECA-1-10-AC (1.0 A, 4 speeds) ← this model Stepless AC fan control needed EVS-1-15-DM (1.5 A, electronic) EC fan control needed SDP-E0US-AT (EC potentiometer with OFF) Rule: motor rated current ≤ 1.0 A and power ≤ 150 W. When connecting several fans, add up their currents and powers. The fan must be single-phase AC and voltage-controllable.When to choose another solution: for stepless control of single-phase AC fans – electronic EVS-1 controllers; for EC fans – SDP, MTP, MTVN1 or SPV-8 potentiometers; for three-phase motors – three-phase transformer speed controllers (e.g. STR-4) or frequency inverters.Pros
- 4 speeds and 2 OFF positions
- Quiet motor operation
- Fuse with a spare
- Simple connection without settings
- IP44 / IP54
Cons / limitations
- Low power – up to 1.0 A / 150 W
- Step, not stepless control
- Output voltages depend on the motor (cos φ)
- Indoors only, 0–35 °C
- Not suitable for EC and three-phase fans
Safety and installation notes
- Installation and connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician with the supply to all connected devices disconnected.
- Motor current – no more than 1.0 A, load – no more than 150 W.
- Replace a blown fuse only with a 1.25 A, 5×20 mm fuse.
- Wires – up to 2.5 mm².
- For indoor use only, 0–35 °C, non-condensing.
Quick selection guide
1.0 A150 W230 VAC4 speedsIP44 / IP54Suitable when you need:- control an AC ceiling fan with 4 speeds;
- easily replace an old ceiling fan switch;
- control several small fans up to 1.0 A total current.
Check before use:- the motor rated current (≤ 1.0 A) and power (≤ 150 W);
- whether the fan is single-phase AC;
- whether the motor turns at the lowest steps.
Important reminder: ECA-1-10-AC is designed for single-phase AC fans up to 1.0 A – it does not control EC or three-phase fans.FAQ
How many speeds does it have?
4 speeds and 2 OFF positions (0-4-3-2-1-0).What are the output voltages?
Approximately 230, 108, 60 and 12 VAC; the actual value depends on the motor's cos φ.Is it suitable for an EC fan?
No. An EC fan requires a control signal – choose an SDP or MTP potentiometer.What fuse is used?
1.25 A, 5×20 mm; a spare fuse is provided in the holder.Can several fans be connected?
Yes, provided the total current does not exceed 1.0 A and the power does not exceed 150 W.Ceiling fan speed switch | Sentera Controls | ECA-1-10-AC
