Differential pressure PI controller for damper actuators with display | 0-2000Pa | 0-10VDC/0-20mA/PWM | Modbus RTU | 24VDC | IP65 | Sentera Controls | DPSAF-2K0
DPSAF-2K0 – a Sentera Controls differential pressure controller with an integrated PI control algorithm, measuring range 0–2000 Pa. It measures the pressure difference itself and, via its 0-10 VDC / 0-20 mA analog or PWM output, directly controls air damper actuators to maintain the set value. On the front – a 4-digit 7-segment LED display showing the actual pressure, airflow or air velocity.
Key idea:
This is a sensor and a controller in one housing: no separate pressure transmitter and controller are needed. The controller changes the damper position until the pressure, airflow or air velocity reaches the setpoint – so the zone receives exactly the designed amount of air, regardless of the operation of other zones.Measuring range

The controller is mounted on a wall or duct structure; the measuring points are connected to the aluminium nozzles "+" and "−" with tubes (PSET-PVC-200, PSET-QF-200 or the Pitot tube kit PSET-PTS-200 / PSET-PTL-200). Power (Vin, GND), the Modbus RTU line (A, /B) and the analog output AO1 to the damper actuator are connected at the terminals. The F type has separate power and analog output GNDs, so it is connected with at least 4 wires – if both GNDs are joined, the measurement may be inaccurate; do not mix F and G types in the same network.
An integrated high-resolution digital sensor measures the pressure difference within the 0–2000 Pa range, and the controller, depending on the mode selected over Modbus RTU, works by pressure difference (Pa), air volume (m³/h – when the fan K factor is known, otherwise Q = A × V) or air velocity (m/s – with a Pitot tube kit). The PI algorithm with anti-windup compares the measured value with the setpoint and changes the AO1 signal of 0-10 VDC (RL ≥ 50 kΩ), 0-20 mA (RL ≤ 500 Ω) or 0–100 % PWM (1 kHz); the P and I coefficients, response time (0.1–10 s), min. / max. interval and alarm limits are set over Modbus RTU.
Result – the damper opens or closes enough for the pressure, airflow or air velocity to match the setpoint, so the zone receives the designed airflow regardless of the operation of other zones. The actual value is shown on a 4-digit 7-segment LED display, and four LEDs show whether it is stable within the interval, outside it or in the alarm zone.
Benefits DPSAF-2K0?
One compact IP65 device replaces a pressure transmitter and a separate controller: it measures, regulates, signals with LED indicators, shows the value on a display and integrates into a BMS via Modbus RTU.Technical specifications

Main functions
- LED display – the actual value is visible on site – no computer or manometer is needed when commissioning the system.
- PI control with anti-windup – the controller maintains the setpoint itself and directly controls the damper actuator – no PLC or separate controller is needed.
- Three modes – pressure difference, airflow (by K-factor) or air velocity (with a Pitot tube).
- Selectable output – 0-10 VDC, 0-20 mA or PWM – according to the control input of the damper actuator.
- Adjustable response time – 0.1–10 s – stable control even with pulsating flow.
- Range and alarm limits – LED indicators and Modbus registers immediately show when a value goes outside the permitted limits.
- Modbus RTU – setpoint, PI coefficients and status are controlled and monitored from a BMS or SCADA.
- Zero calibration – with the SW1 button – quick commissioning on site.
Where is it used?
- Measuring range 0–2000 Pa – for most ventilation systems – maintaining the pressure or air volume in the supply and extract ducts of air handling units
- VAV zones with a damper maintaining pressure or airflow
- Maintaining room overpressure – clean rooms, stairwells (fire protection)
- Maintaining reduced pressure – kitchens, laboratories
- Ensuring the minimum ventilation air volume (m³/h) in buildings
- Supply / extract balancing in separate branches
- Sites with a BMS via Modbus RTU
On-demand operation
For air handling unit commissioning technicians.
0–2000 Pa covers the working pressure of most supply and extract ducts, with an accuracy of ±40 Pa.For zoned ventilation balancing specialists.
The actual value shown on the display allows damper operation to be assessed without a separate manometer.For air handling unit manufacturers.
The 24 VDC supply and 4-wire connection suit the low-voltage DC control circuit of the equipment.Practical application
If in a multi-zone system every branch has to receive the designed air volume, then the DPSAF-2K0 measures air velocity through the PSET-PTS-200 Pitot tube and maintains m³/h with the damper, and the value shown on the display speeds up balancing. Power the controller at 24 VDC (e.g. from a DRPS8-24-40) and wire it with 4 wires.Application guide: how it is used in practice
The same DPSAF-2K0 adapts to different sites – only the measuring points and what is connected to the output change:
Site What is connected Result Installer's note VAV zone with a damper Pressure nozzles in a duct branch; AO1 → damper actuator 0-10 VDC input The damper opens as much as needed to maintain the set pressure or airflow Match the actuator control signal type to the AO1 setting (V / mA) Stairwell or clean room Nozzle in the room (+) and in the adjacent zone (−), PSET-PVC-200 The damper regulates the air supply and maintains the set overpressure Install the nozzles in a calm location protected from air currents Maintaining air volume in a branch Pitot tube PSET-PTS-200 / PSET-PTL-200 → + / − The damper maintains the set air velocity or m³/h (Q = A × V) Install the Pitot tube away from elbows and disturbances Building with BMS / SCADA Modbus RTU (RS485) → A, /B Setpoint and alarms are changed centrally, status is monitored remotely For configuration – the CNVT-USB-RS485 converter and the 3SModbus software Power supply 24 VDC power supply (e.g. SEPS8-24-40 or DRPS8-24-40) → Vin, GND Stable controller operation At least 4 wires – do not join the power supply and output GND How to choose the range of a pressure controller
Measuring range Recommended model 0–1000 Pa DPSAF-1K0 (0–1000 Pa, 24 VDC) 0–2000 Pa DPSAF-2K0 (0–2000 Pa, 24 VDC) ← this model Rule: the operating pressure must be within the range and, ideally, occupy a larger part of it – the ±2 % accuracy is calculated from the full range, so do not choose an overly large range for a low pressure. Choose the supply according to the system: type F – 24 VDC, 4-wire; type G – 24 VAC / VDC, 3-wire (the twin of this model is DPSAG-2K0).When to choose another solution: without a display – HPSAF-2K0; for fan speed control – DPSP series; for two setpoints (day / night) – SPS2 series; for pressure measurement only, without regulation – HPS-2 / DPS-2 transmitters; for simple on / off switching by pressure – PSW pressure switches.Pros
- Sensor and PI controller in one
- LED display for the actual value
- Pressure, airflow or air velocity mode
- 0-10 VDC / 0-20 mA / PWM output
- Modbus RTU – all parameters remotely
- IP65 enclosure, aluminium nozzles
- Adjustable response time 0.1–10 s
Cons / limitations
- The setpoint and PI parameters are changed only via Modbus RTU – a CNVT-USB-RS485 converter and the 3SModbus software are required
- At least 4 wires are needed – not suitable for 3-wire connection
- Air volume mode requires the K factor or a Pitot tube and the duct cross-section
- The pressure connection kit is not included – choose PSET-PVC-200, PSET-QF-200 or the Pitot kit PSET-PTS-200 / PSET-PTL-200
- Only for clean air and non-aggressive, non-flammable gases
Safety and installation notes
- Installation and connection are to be carried out by a qualified specialist with the power disconnected.
- Power supply – only 18–34 VDC; do not exceed the specified limits.
- Do not connect the supply and analog output GND of the F-type controller – connect with at least 4 wires.
- Do not use type F and G controllers in the same network.
- For clean air and non-aggressive, non-flammable gases only; ambient temperature -5…+65 °C, non-condensing.
- Before start-up, perform zero calibration of the sensor (button SW1) with the pressure tubes disconnected.
Quick selection guide
0–2000 PaPI controllerLED display0-10 VDC / 0-20 mA / PWMModbus RTU24 VDCIP65Suitable when you need:- to maintain a constant pressure or airflow in the 0–2000 Pa range by controlling a damper actuator;
- to avoid tuning a separate sensor and controller;
- to integrate pressure control into a BMS via Modbus RTU.
Check before use:- the operating pressure – whether it fits within the 0–2000 Pa range;
- the input signal of the controlled device (0-10 VDC, 0-20 mA or PWM);
- the supply type and connection: 24 VDC, 4-wire (type F);
- whether a pressure connection kit is needed (PSET-PVC-200, PSET-QF-200, PSET-PTS-200, PSET-PTL-200).
Important reminder: The DPSAF-2K0 regulates to a single setpoint; the setpoint and parameters are set via Modbus RTU, so commissioning requires a CNVT-USB-RS485 converter and the 3SModbus software.FAQ
