  • Dual differential pressure transmitter with display | 2×0-10000Pa | 2×0-10VDC/0-20mA/PWM | Modbus RTU | 24VAC/VDC | 3-wire | IP65 | Sentera Controls | DPD-G-10K

    DPD-G-10K – a Sentera Controls dual differential pressure transmitter with display and a factory measuring range of 0–10 000 Pa. It integrates two independent digital differential pressure sensors and two analog / modulating outputs: 0-10 VDC, 0-20 mA or 0–100 % PWM signal, and Modbus RTU communication. The -G version – for 3-wire connection with a common supply and output “minus”, powered by 24 VAC or 24 VDC; IP65 enclosure, wall-mounted.

    Key idea:
    Two pressure points – one housing: e.g. fan pressure and filter fouling, supply and extract sides or two zones are measured with a single device, with two independent outputs and a common Modbus RTU line. This means less installation, wiring and space in the ventilation unit. The display lets you see the value right on site – there is no need to carry a manometer when commissioning and tuning the system.

    Output
    2 × 0-10 VDC / 0-20 mA / PWM + Modbus RTU
    Power supply
    24 VAC / VDC (18–34 VDC, 15–24 VAC ±10 %)
    Protection class
    IP65, ASA enclosure, LED display

    Operating principle

    The transmitter is mounted on a wall or other solid surface near the measuring points, and the measuring points are connected with tubes to the aluminium “+” and “–” nozzles (for a 6 mm tube) – separately for each of the two sensors. For connection, the Sentera PSET-PVC-200 or PSET-QF-200 kits are convenient; for air velocity – the Pitot tube kits PSET-PTS-200 / PSET-PTL-200.

    Each of the two integrated digital sensors measures the pressure difference; three modes are available: differential pressure (Pa), air volume flow (m³/h – by the fan K-factor or Q = A × V) and air velocity (m/s – with the external PSET-PTX-200 Pitot tube kit). The output is factory-calibrated: 0 V at 0 Pa, 10 V at 10 000 Pa. Over Modbus RTU (the 3SModbus application or the Sensistant configurator) the working window (min. interval 50 Pa for pressure, 10 m³/h for flow, 1 m/s for velocity), output type and response time of 0.1–10 s are set. The display shows the differential pressure or airflow.

    The analog signal directly controls a Sentera speed controller, frequency converter or EC fan – this maintains constant pressure in the duct or room, while the BMS receives the exact value over Modbus. The 0–10 000 Pa range is the widest in the series, intended for high-pressure industrial air systems; for low pressures (up to a few hundred Pa), choose a model with a smaller range for better resolution.

    Benefits DPD-G-10K?
    One device – pressure, flow and velocity measurement, analog and Modbus RTU output, programmable range, two independent channels, local display and an IP65 housing. A single model in stock is enough for many sites.

    Main functions

    • Two independent channels – two pressure points with separate outputs AO1 and AO2 – one transmitter instead of two.
    • Three measuring modes – differential pressure, airflow in m³/h by K-factor or cross-section, and air velocity in m/s with a Pitot tube.
    • Selectable output – 0-10 VDC, 0-20 mA or PWM – suitable for controllers, frequency converters, EC fans and regulators.
    • Modbus RTU – all measured values and settings are accessible from a BMS / SCADA; configurable with 3SModbus or Sensistant.
    • Programmable working window – the min. and max. limits can be narrowed (down to a 50 Pa interval) – the output signal is used only for the required pressure.
    • Response time 0.1–10 s – damps pulsations and turbulence, so the signal to the controller is stable.
    • Zero calibration with a button – SW1 / SW2 – quick zero check on site, and also resetting the Modbus registers to factory defaults.
    • LED display – 4-digit on-site readout – convenient during commissioning, tuning and servicing.
    • PWM with internal or external power supply – a jumper selects the 3.3 or 12 VDC internal PWM supply, or an external one via a pull-up resistor.
    • 24 VAC or DC power supply – 3-wire connection with a common GND – the transmitter is easy to connect to a 24 VAC control transformer or an 18–34 VDC source.

    Where is it used?

    • Two measuring points at the same time – e.g. fan and filter, supply and extract
    • Higher-pressure fans and industrial air systems
    • Filter fouling monitoring in ventilation units
    • Maintaining constant pressure in a duct (VAV systems)
    • Airflow measurement via the fan K factor
    • Air velocity measurement in a duct with a Pitot tube
    • Ensuring minimum ventilation rates in buildings
    • Clean rooms, kitchens, laboratories – pressure monitoring

    On-demand operation

    For the high-pressure industrial air systems engineer.
    two 0–10 000 Pa channels – the largest range in the series for two points when pressure exceeds 4000 Pa.
    For building maintenance services.
    the pressure or airflow is visible on the display on site, and two channels allow a single device to supervise two points of the system.
    For installers with a 24 VAC control transformer.
    The -G version is wired with 3 wires with a common GND and powered at 15–24 VAC or 18–34 VDC.

    Practical application

    If in a ventilation unit the filter has to be monitored and constant duct pressure maintained at the same time, then one channel of the DPD-G-10K is connected before and after the filter and the other to the duct; AO2 with the factory scale 1000 Pa = 1 V controls the fan controller, while AO1 or Modbus RTU reports filter contamination to the BMS. Both points can be checked on the display during tuning.

    Application guide: how it is used in practice

    The DPD-G-10K adapts to different sites – only where the tubes are connected and where the signal is routed changes:

    Site What is connected Result Installer's note
    Air handling unit Sensor 1 – fan pressure, sensor 2 – filter; AO1 → controller, AO2 → BMS One transmitter controls the fan and monitors the filter Each channel is configured separately
    Air handling unit filter Tubes upstream and downstream of the filter; AO1 or Modbus → BMS When the filter becomes clogged – an alarm and timely planned replacement Narrow the working window to the filter pressure limits
    Constant pressure in the duct Duct point and environment; AO1 → Sentera speed controller / frequency converter / EC fan Fan speed is varied so that the pressure stays constant Increase the response time if the signal pulsates
    Airflow measurement Measuring points at the fan inlet nozzle (PSET-PVC-200) The transmitter displays and transmits m³/h according to the K-factor You will find the K factor in the fan documentation
    Air velocity in the duct Pitot tube PSET-PTS-200 / PSET-PTL-200 Measured in m/s, flow is calculated as Q = A × V Install the Pitot tube in a straight section of the duct
    Building with BMS Modbus RTU (A, /B) Values and settings are managed centrally Do not mix -F and -G versions in the same network

    How to choose the range of a dual pressure transmitter

    Measuring range / connection Recommended model
    0–1000 Pa, 3-wire, 24 VAC/VDC DPD-G-1K0 (filters, duct pressure, VAV)
    0–1000 Pa, 4-wire, 18–34 VDC DPD-F-1K0 (filters, duct pressure, VAV)
    0–2000 Pa, 3-wire, 24 VAC/VDC DPD-G-2K0 (universal AHU / fans)
    0–2000 Pa, 4-wire, 18–34 VDC DPD-F-2K0 (universal AHU / fans)
    0–4000 Pa, 3-wire, 24 VAC/VDC DPD-G-4K0 (higher-pressure fans)
    0–4000 Pa, 4-wire, 18–34 VDC DPD-F-4K0 (higher-pressure fans)
    0–10 000 Pa, 3-wire, 24 VAC/VDC DPD-G-10K (high-pressure industry) ← this model
    0–10 000 Pa, 4-wire, 18–34 VDC DPD-F-10K (high-pressure industry)
    Rule: choose the range so that the maximum operating pressure is about 50–80 % of the upper limit – the working window can be narrowed via Modbus RTU, but not widened. The -G (3-wire) version suits 24 VAC or DC supply with a common GND; -F (4-wire) – DC only with separate GNDs, when the output GND must be separated from the supply GND (e.g. in DC-powered networks with other devices). Do not mix -F and -G on the same network.
    When to choose another solution: without a display – HPD series; for a single point – DPS (with display) or HPS (without display); for small room pressures – DPS-x--LP / HPS-x--LP (-125…+125 Pa); connection kits PSET-PVC-200, PSET-QF-200, Pitot tubes PSET-PTS-200 / PSET-PTL-200; for Modbus configuration – CNVT-USB-RS485-SET converter; for 24 VDC power – SEPS8-24-40.

    Pros

    • Two independent sensors and outputs in one housing
    • Pressure, airflow and velocity in a single transmitter
    • 0-10 VDC / 0-20 mA / PWM output and Modbus RTU
    • Programmable working window and response time

    • 4-digit LED display for on-site value reading

    Cons / limitations

    • Only for clean air and non-aggressive, non-flammable gases; operating environment -5…+65 °C
    • Full configuration requires Modbus RTU (3SModbus / Sensistant) and a CNVT-USB-RS485 converter
    • The common GND of -G must not be connected to other DC-powered devices; in that case choose DPD-F-10K

    • Air velocity requires a separate Pitot tube set PSET-PTS-200 / PSET-PTL-200

    Safety and installation notes

    • Installation and connection are to be carried out by a qualified electrician / automation technician with the power disconnected.
    • Power supply 18–34 VDC or 15–24 VAC ±10 % (the terminal table specifies AC as 13–26 VAC); use a safety transformer or a power supply.
    • Never connect the common GND of the -G version to other DC-powered devices – they may be irreversibly damaged.
    • Do not use -F and -G type transmitters in the same network.
    • The transmitter is intended for clean air and non-aggressive, non-flammable gases only; operating environment -5…+65 °C, < 95 % rH non-condensing.

    Suitable when you need:
    • to measure two pressure points with a single device;
    • to measure the pressure difference within 0–10 000 Pa and pass it to a controller or BMS;
    • to maintain a constant pressure or flow by controlling a fan;
    • to integrate the measurement into a BMS via Modbus RTU.
    Check before use:
    • the maximum operating pressure – whether it fits within the 0–10 000 Pa range;
    • the controller power supply and connection: 3 wires with a common GND (-G) or 4 wires with separate GNDs (-F);
    • whether airflow (fan K-factor) or velocity (Pitot kit) measurement will be needed.
    Important reminder: The DPD-G-10K measures only the pressure difference of clean air and non-aggressive, non-flammable gases; connection tubes and Pitot tubes are ordered separately.
