Application

Dimplex AC3W is designed for entrance areas where frequent door opening causes increased air exchange between indoor and outdoor environments. The fan creates a directed airflow that forms an air barrier across the opening, while the electric heating element can additionally warm the supplied air.

This can help reduce cold air infiltration and improve thermal comfort around the entrance. The air curtain may be used in shops, offices, administrative premises, workshops and other similar entrance areas.

Three main operating modes

• Fan mode – creates airflow without additional heating.
• 1300 W mode – partial electric heating output.
• 3000 W mode – maximum electric heating output.

These operating modes allow the heating output to be adapted to actual conditions without using maximum heating power continuously.

Electronic temperature control

The unit features an electronic thermostat. Using the ConfigR app, the required temperature can be set between 7 and 30 °C and additional control functions can be configured.

According to the manufacturer's documentation, weekly timer, advance mode and Boost functions can also be configured via the app.

Airflow

The declared air velocity of the AC3W is 6.2 m/s. This parameter is important when assessing the unit's ability to create a directed air barrier across an entrance opening.

When selecting an air curtain, its electrical heating output should not be considered alone. It is also important to verify that the airflow characteristics are suitable for the intended doorway and installation position.
