Electric towel warmer | heated towel rail | 500 W | 500 × 1200 mm | 11 bars | IP44 | white RAL 9016 | ADAX Wave 50-120-500 White
ADAX Wave 50-120-500 White is a white electric ladder-type heated towel rail designed for drying and warming towels and providing additional bathroom comfort. The model features 11 rectangular-profile bars, a 500 W electric heating element, programmable MUSA controller, 7–30 °C temperature adjustment and IP44 protection. The white RAL 9016 finish and understated Scandinavian design suit both modern and classic bathroom interiors.
Key pointADAX Wave 50-120-500 White combines towel drying, electric heating and programmable temperature control in one appliance. The taller 1200 mm design and 11 bars provide more space for towels, while the 500 W power rating offers higher heating output than more compact Wave models. The integrated MUSA controller supports COMFORT, NIGHT, ANTIFREEZE, TIMER-2H and CHRONO modes, weekly and hourly programming, open-window detection and button-lock functions.

Programmable MUSAOperating principle
ADAX Wave is an electric liquid-filled heated towel rail. It contains a 90% water / 10% glycol mixture, heated by an integrated 500 W electric heating element.
Heat is transferred to the metal body and horizontal bars. Towels placed on them gradually warm up and dry, while the appliance can also provide supplementary heat to the bathroom.
Ready to use: the heated towel rail is already filled with heat-transfer fluid and fitted with a programmable electric heating element, so after mechanical installation it only needs to be properly connected to the electrical supply.
WAVE design – 11 rectangular-profile bars
Unlike ladder designs with round-profile tubes, ADAX Wave uses rectangular-profile black-steel tube bars. The model has 11 horizontal bars, providing more space for hanging and drying several everyday towels. The 500 × 1200 mm dimensions are particularly suitable where a taller towel warmer and a larger usable hanging area are required.
Rotatable heating element – right- or left-hand installation
The installed white electric heating element is rotatable. This allows the towel warmer to be adapted during installation so that the controller is positioned on the more convenient side – either right-hand or left-hand installation can be selected.
Programmable MUSA controller
The integrated electronic MUSA controller is used not only to set temperature but also to programme the operation of the towel warmer. Temperature is adjusted using the [+] and [−] buttons, modes are selected with [Prog], and [On/Standby] switches the appliance on or into standby mode.
COMFORT
Maintains the user-set comfort room temperature.NIGHT
Reduced-temperature mode for night-time use or when the room is not occupied.ANTIFREEZE
Automatically maintains 7 °C.TIMER-2H
Runs at maximum power for 2 hours – useful for faster towel drying.CHRONO
Weekly temperature programming in one-hour intervals.FIL-PILOT
For product versions equipped with the Fil-Pilote system and centralised heating control.Switching on and standby mode
The appliance is switched on or placed into standby using the [On/Standby] button.
- When switched on, the display shows the current time, selected mode and set temperature.
- In standby mode, the current time, day of the week and [Stb] message are displayed.
- When switching to standby, the appliance beeps twice for 0.5 seconds.
- When switching on, one approximately 1-second beep is emitted.
COMFORT and NIGHT temperatures
Two main temperature levels can be set:
- COMFORT temperature is used in COMFORT, CHRONO and, where applicable, FIL-PILOT modes.
- NIGHT temperature is used in NIGHT and CHRONO modes.
- The overall configurable temperature range is 7–30 °C.
- NIGHT temperature must be at least 0.5 °C lower than COMFORT temperature.
COMFORT mode
COMFORT mode maintains the selected room temperature steadily. Press [Prog] until the COMFORT icon appears, then set the desired temperature with [+] and [−].
NIGHT mode
NIGHT mode maintains a lower temperature than COMFORT mode. It is recommended at night or when the room will remain unused for 2 hours or more. NIGHT temperature can be adjusted from 7 °C up to COMFORT temperature minus 0.5 °C.
Frost protection – ANTIFREEZE
In ANTIFREEZE mode the setting is fixed at 7 °C. The heating element activates when room temperature falls below this level. The mode is useful during holidays, in guest rooms or other rarely used spaces.
TIMER-2H – 2-hour fast towel drying
TIMER-2H mode is intended for faster drying of damp towels or short-term intensive room heating. In this mode the appliance operates at its maximum 500 W power for up to 2 hours, up to a maximum room temperature of 30 °C. Afterwards it automatically returns to the previously selected mode.
CHRONO – weekly programming
CHRONO mode allows an individual 7-day heating schedule to be created. Each hour of every day can be assigned:
- COMFORT temperature – shown as a filled time bar.
- NIGHT temperature – shown as an empty time bar.
This makes it possible to reduce the temperature automatically at night or when the bathroom is not used and return to COMFORT temperature before the expected usage time.
Setting CHRONO time and day
- Switch the appliance to STANDBY mode.
- Hold [−] for at least 3 seconds.
- [SEt] appears at the top of the display.
- Use [+] to select [tEd].
- Press [Prog] and set the day of the week.
- Confirm the selected day with [Prog].
- Set the hours using [+] and [−] and confirm with [Prog].
- Set the minutes in the same way.
- At the end of the procedure, the controller returns to STANDBY mode.
Creating a CHRONO programme
- Switch the appliance to STANDBY mode.
- Hold [−] for at least 3 seconds until [SEt] appears.
- Use [+] to select [Pro9].
- Press [Prog] to enter programming mode.
- For each hour of the day press [+] for COMFORT or [−] for NIGHT temperature.
- Press [Prog] to confirm the programme for day 1.
- Repeat the same procedure for the remaining 6 days.
Open-window detection
Open-window detection reacts to a sudden drop in room temperature. If such a change is detected, the heating element is temporarily switched off. Heating resumes when an increase in temperature indicates that the window has been closed.
The function can be enabled or disabled in the controller settings. When active, the Open Window icon is shown on the display.
Note: an open window may not be detected if the thermostat is located in an isolated area away from air currents, near an external heat source or if the room temperature changes too slowly.
Button lock – KEY LOCK
To prevent accidental changes to temperature or programmes, the control buttons can be locked. Holding [Prog] for approximately 3 seconds locks all buttons except [On/Standby]. A lock symbol appears on the display. To unlock, hold [Prog] again for approximately 3 seconds.
FIL-PILOT mode
FIL-PILOT mode applies only to products equipped with the Fil-Pilote system. In such versions, the operating mode can be set by a centralised building or home heating-control system. Compatibility must be checked according to the specific product configuration.
