Floor heating thermostat | temperature controller | 10 A | 2300 W | 230 V | +10…+60 °C | with 4 m NTC floor sensor | white | Ensto | ECO10FJ
The Ensto ECO10FJ is a wall-mounted thermostat for electric floor heating with a remote NTC floor sensor. It maintains the set floor temperature between +10 and +60 °C and directly switches heating cable or heating mat loads of up to 2300 W (10 A) on a 230 V supply. A simple, mechanically adjusted thermostat for anyone who needs reliable underfloor heating control without any programming.
Key point:
The comfort and running costs of electric floor heating depend on the thermostat, not the cable. The ECO10FJ measures the temperature in the floor itself, so the floor covering never heats above its permitted limit and the room is heated evenly. The double-pole switch disconnects both conductors of the heating circuit, and the fixed 4 °C temperature setback saves energy when the room is unoccupied.Maximum load

NTC floor sensor, 4 m (up to 10 m)Switch
Double-poleHow it works
The thermostat is mounted on the wall, while its NTC sensor is installed in the floor between the loops of the heating cable. The sensor lead is 4 m long and, if needed, can be extended up to 10 m with MMJ 2×1.5 mm² cable, so the thermostat can be installed in a convenient location even at some distance from the heated area.
Use the dial to set the required floor temperature between +10 and +60 °C. The NTC sensor continuously measures the floor temperature and the thermostat electronics compare it with the set value: when the floor cools down, the relay switches the heating on; when the set temperature is reached, it switches the heating off.
The load is connected directly through the thermostat contacts – up to 10 A resistive load, i.e. up to 2300 W at 230 V. In addition, the thermostat has a fixed 4 °C temperature setback function for economy mode.
Why choose the ECO10FJ?
It controls underfloor heating according to the actual floor temperature, protects the floor covering against overheating and requires no settings or programming – install it, set the temperature and the system does the rest.Technical specifications

- Floor temperature control via an in-floor sensor – it controls what you actually feel underfoot, not the air temperature by the wall.
- Wide setting range of +10…+60 °C – suitable both for comfort heating and for frost/background mode when the room is not in use.
- Direct load switching up to 10 A / 2300 W – in most cases no additional contactor is needed.
- Double-pole switch – when switched off, both conductors of the heating circuit are disconnected, making maintenance and servicing safer.
- Fixed 4 °C temperature setback – economy mode at night or when nobody is at home.
- NTC sensor with 4 m lead – long enough for most bathrooms and hallways without extra joints.
- Sensor lead extendable up to 10 m – the thermostat can be installed in a convenient place, e.g. behind the door, outside the wet zone.
- Floor covering protection – by setting a limit, you protect wood, laminate or vinyl against overheating.
- Mechanical dial control – no menus, programs or batteries, so it suits every family member and rental properties.
- Protection class II – double insulation, no earthing of the housing required.
- Compact 85 × 85 mm housing – looks neat next to switches and sockets.
Where is it used?
- Bathrooms and toilets with electric floor heating
- Kitchens and entrance halls under tiles
- Living rooms with heating mats under laminate or tiles
- Sauna changing and relaxation rooms
- Offices, hair salons and small commercial premises
- Garden houses and cottages with electric floor heating
- Apartment renovations, when replacing an old or faulty floor thermostat
Use by need
For homeowners.
Warm bathroom floors without complicated controls: set the temperature once and forget about it.For electricians and installers.
Clear wiring logic, a 10 A load without a contactor and a sensor lead that can be extended up to 10 m.For rental property managers.
Mechanical control without programs – tenants cannot mess up the settings, and the temperature limit is easy to check.Practical example
If a 150 W/m² heating mat is laid over 8 m² in a bathroom (≈1200 W), the ECO10FJ controls it directly – the load is about half of the permitted 2300 W. The NTC sensor is installed in a protective conduit between the mat loops, and the thermostat is mounted on the wall behind the door, in the dry zone. With the floor temperature set to about +27 °C, the tiles will be warm but will not overheat.Pros
- Directly switches loads of up to 2300 W
- Floor temperature control via NTC sensor
- Double-pole switch
- Sensor lead extendable up to 10 m
- Fixed 4 °C economy setback
- Simple mechanical control, no programming
- Protection class II
Cons / limitations
- No weekly programming or display – if you need time programs, choose a programmable thermostat
- No Wi-Fi or remote control
- Loads above 2300 W require a contactor or several zones
- Ingress protection IP30–IP31 – install in a dry zone only, not next to a shower or bathtub
- Measures floor temperature only, not air temperature
Safety and installation notes
- ⚡ Before installation, switch off the circuit breaker and verify that no voltage is present.
- ⚡ Protect the floor heating circuit with a residual current device (RCD, 30 mA) – this is especially important in wet rooms.
- ⚠ Do not exceed the 10 A / 2300 W load. Before connecting, add up the power of all connected heating cables or mats.
- ⚠ Install the thermostat in a dry zone, outside the bathtub and shower zones, in accordance with the electrical installation regulations.
- Place the NTC sensor in a protective conduit in the floor, between the heating cable loops and equidistant from them – this way it can be replaced without breaking up the floor.
- Route the sensor lead separately from 230 V power cables so that interference does not distort the measurement.
- For extension, use MMJ 2×1.5 mm² cable; the total sensor lead length must not exceed 10 m.
- For wooden and laminate floors, set the maximum temperature permitted by the floor covering manufacturer.
- Installation and connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Quick selection guide
230 V10 A / 2300 W+10…+60 °CNTC 47 kΩ, 4 mDouble-pole switch85 × 85 × 48 mmSuitable when you need to:- control electric floor heating of up to 2300 W in a single zone;
- use a simple thermostat without programming;
- replace an old thermostat that works with an NTC 47 kΩ floor sensor.
Check before use:- the total power of the heating cable or mat – no more than 2300 W;
- whether the existing floor sensor is NTC 47 kΩ, if you are replacing only the thermostat;
- whether the wall installation box suits the 85 × 85 × 48 mm housing.
Important reminder: the thermostat does not replace residual current protection (RCD) or a circuit breaker – both are mandatory for the floor heating circuit in their own right.FAQ
What area can be heated with this thermostat?
It depends on the cable output: for example, with a 150 W/m² mat, 2300 W corresponds to about 15 m².Is the sensor included?
Yes, an NTC floor sensor with a 4 m lead is included.Will it work with my existing floor sensor?
Yes, if the existing sensor is NTC 47 kΩ (at +25 °C) – a sensor with a different resistance will show an incorrect temperature.Can the sensor lead be extended?
Yes, with MMJ 2×1.5 mm² cable up to a total length of 10 m.Can the thermostat be installed in a bathroom?
Yes, but only in a dry zone outside the bathtub and shower zones, as the housing ingress protection is IP30–IP31.Can the thermostat be programmed by time?
No, the ECO10FJ is a mechanical thermostat without time programs, with a fixed 4 °C temperature setback function.Floor heating thermostat Ensto ECO10FJ | 10 A | 2300 W | +10…+60 °C
The Ensto ECO10FJ is a wall-mounted thermostat for electric floor heating with an NTC floor sensor (4 m, extendable up to 10 m) that regulates the floor temperature between +10 and +60 °C and directly switches loads of up to 2300 W on a 230 V supply. A double-pole switch, a fixed 4 °C temperature setback and simple mechanical control make it a reliable solution for warm floors in bathrooms, kitchens and living spaces.
