Code: 201.08.04Pollmann AS/3x16 SNS (code 201.08.04, manufacturer article 2010804) is a three-pole feed-in (supply) terminal designed to connect supply conductors L1, L2, L3 up to 16 mm² to the busbar system of a distribution board. The terminal takes up only one module (17.8 mm), and its three contact tabs (5x4x12.3 mm) fit into the device or busbar terminals in exactly the same way as busbar pins – so the board supply can be connected neatly, without extra cable loops and without occupying breaker terminals.

Pollmann AS/3x16 SNS (code 201.08.04, manufacturer article 2010804) is a three-pole feed-in (supply) terminal designed to connect supply conductors L1, L2, L3 up to 16 mm² to the busbar system of a distribution board. The terminal takes up only one module (17.8 mm), and its three contact tabs (5x4x12.3 mm) fit into the device or busbar terminals in exactly the same way as busbar pins – so the board supply can be connected neatly, without extra cable loops and without occupying breaker terminals.
Key idea:
When a row of breakers is fed by a pin or fork busbar, the question arises of where to connect the thick incoming supply cable – the breaker terminals are already taken up by the busbar. The AS/3x16 SNS solves this in a single module: three supply conductors up to 16 mm² are tightened from above, while the tabs connect to the busbar system from below. The result is a standard, proven German solution used by panel builders across Europe.Number of poles

The terminal housing contains three separate tin-plated copper contact blocks – one for each phase. A supply conductor of 1.5–16 mm² (solid, stranded or flexible with a ferrule) is tightened into each block from above with a screw. From below, each block has a flat contact tab measuring 5x4x12.3 mm – the same as a pin busbar's pin – so it fits into the modular device terminal or busbar connection and is tightened together with the busbar system.
This way, supply from the incoming cable passes through the terminal into the busbar, and from the busbar to the entire row of breakers. The tin-plated copper ensures low contact resistance and allows both copper and aluminium conductors to be connected (for aluminium – with contact paste). The terminal's width equals one module, so it aligns with the breakers and does not interfere with the cover plate.
What is the AS/3x16 SNS useful for?
It replaces improvised solutions – double conductors in a breaker terminal, an extra distribution block, or cable loops. The supply is connected at one point, clearly, with the ability to re-check each phase's screw. The board looks tidy, and during operation it is easy to locate and disconnect the supply point.Technical specifications

- German quality – Pollmann has been manufacturing board connection components since 1935.
Where is it used?
- Residential and flat distribution boards – connecting the incoming cable to the breaker busbar
- Apartment building staircase and metering boards
- Commercial and industrial boards with modular devices
- Solar power plant AC boards – connecting the inverter output to the busbar
- EV charging station supply boards
- Board manufacturing – a standardised, serial supply assembly
Use by need
For residential users.
If the breakers in your home board are connected by a busbar, and the incoming 10–16 mm² cable "does not fit" into the first breaker's terminal – this terminal is designed exactly for that.For companies and panel builders.
A uniform supply assembly across all boards shortens installation time and simplifies inspection – the supply is always in the same place, with the same device.For electricians / engineers.
When selecting, check: the busbar type (pin or fork) and pin dimensions match the 5x4x12.3 mm tab; the supply conductor cross-section is ≤16 mm²; the board's incoming current does not exceed the conductor's permissible current. For aluminium supply, use contact paste and re-check the screws after loading.Practical example
In a home board, 24 modular breakers are connected by a three-phase pin busbar. An incoming 5x10 mm² copper cable comes from the metering board. The AS/3x16 SNS is installed in the first position of the row: the three tabs are inserted into the busbar connection, and the L1, L2, L3 conductors are tightened at the top of the terminal. The N and PE conductors are connected to separate busbars. The whole row is supplied neatly, without doubled-up conductors in the breaker terminals.
Pros
- Single module – takes up minimal space in the board.
- Three phases with one device – no need for three separate terminals.
- Up to 16 mm² – covers supplies up to ~63 A.
- Standard compatibility – tab dimensions match common pin busbars.
- Control – each phase has its own screw, torque can be re-checked.
- German quality – Pollmann, tested to VDE requirements.
Cons / limitations
- Not suitable for conductors over 16 mm² – for 25–35 mm² supplies you need the AS/3x35 or a similar model.
- Requires a busbar system – without a busbar the terminal is pointless.
- L1/L2/L3 only – N and PE are connected to separate busbars.
- Screw connections, especially with aluminium, require re-checking after the first weeks of loading.
- Before purchase, the busbar pin dimensions must be checked for compatibility.
Safety and installation notes
- Install only after disconnecting the voltage and confirming its absence.
- Insert the tabs fully and tighten the busbar or device terminal to the specified torque.
- Clean aluminium conductors of oxide and use contact paste.
- Use crimped ferrules for flexible conductors.
- Select the supply conductor cross-section according to the board's incoming current and protective device.
- Re-check the torque of all screws after the first weeks of loading.

1 module (17.8 mm)Manufacturer
Pollmann, GermanySuitable when you need to:- connect a three-phase supply up to 16 mm² to the breaker busbar;
- have a tidy, single-module supply assembly in the board;
- use a standard solution for serial board manufacturing.
Check before use:- whether the busbar is pin or fork type and the pin dimensions are compatible with 5x4x12.3 mm;
- whether the supply conductor cross-section is 1.5–16 mm²;
- whether the board's incoming current does not exceed the conductor's permissible current;
- whether contact paste is prepared for aluminium.
Important reminder:
The terminal connects the supply but does not protect the circuit – overload and short-circuit protection for the incoming supply is provided by the incoming breaker or fuses ahead of the terminal.FAQ
How does it differ from a regular branch terminal?
This is a busbar feed-in terminal: instead of branching conductors, it connects the supply to the breaker busbar system via pin-type tabs.Is it suitable for a 25 mm² supply?
No, the maximum cross-section is 16 mm². For larger supplies, choose the AS/3x35 or a similar model.Can an aluminium supply be connected?
Yes – the tin-plated copper contact is suitable for this; use contact paste.Where are N and PE connected?
To separate N and PE busbars – this terminal is designed for the three phases only.Does it fit any busbar?
It fits pin and fork busbars as well as modular device terminals that accept a 5x4 mm pin. Check the busbar's datasheet.Do the screws need re-checking?
Yes – it is recommended to re-check screw connections, especially with aluminium, after the first weeks of loading.Busbar feed-in terminal | 3-pole
