    Key idea:
    In a panel or server room with hundreds of cables, within a year no one remembers which cable goes where. A marker tie solves this for a few cents: bundle the cable and write down what it is, right away. The white plate is clearly visible, and marker ink or a label sticks to it for a long time.

    How it works

    The tie is wrapped around the cable bundle, the tail is threaded through the locking head and pulled tight – an internal toothed pawl grips the strap and stops it from loosening. The locking head is joined to a flat plate, which remains outside and visible once the tie is tightened.

    The plate is written on with a permanent marker or a printed self-adhesive label is stuck onto it. PA66 nylon is flexible, resistant to tension and most chemicals, so the tie is suited to both panels and technical rooms. The excess tail is trimmed flush at the lock.

    What makes marker ties useful?
    They combine two jobs into one: there's no need to bundle wires separately and stick on labels separately, which often peel off round cables. The plate is flat and stable, unaffected by the cable's bend. This is the standard solution in server rooms, automation panels and electrical installation work wherever traceability is needed.

    Key features

    • Fastening and marking in one – bundle and label in a single move.
    • Writable plate – a flat surface for marker or label.
    • Reliable lock – toothed pawl does not loosen under vibration.
    • PA66 nylon – flexible, resistant to tension and chemicals.
    • 110 mm length – suits bundles up to ~25 mm diameter.
    • Pack of 100 pcs – enough to label a mid-sized panel or cabinet.

    Where is it used?

    • Electrical distribution boards – marking circuits and breakers
    • Server rooms and patch cabinets – identifying patch cables
    • Automation and control panels – labelling signal wires
    • Solar power plants – numbering strings and DC cables
    • Industrial equipment – labelling sensor and motor cables
    • Security and CCTV systems – identifying camera cables
    • Households – organising wires behind a TV or computer
    • Warehouses – labelling tubing, hoses and tools

    Use by need

    For the domestic user.
    Organising wires behind a computer or in a home panel – marker ties let you find, a year later, straight away, which lead is the "kitchen socket" and which is the "garage light".
    For businesses and installers.
    Handing over a site with labelled cables avoids client questions and saves service time later. A pack of 100 pcs is a convenient unit for a team's stock.
    For engineers / designers.
    The ~25x8 mm plate fits a short code (e.g. "L1-Q12", "PV-S3"). For longer notes, use printed labels. Outdoors and in UV environments, choose black, UV-stabilised ties instead.

    Practical example

    When wiring a home panel with 24 breakers, the wire of each outgoing circuit is bundled with a marker tie and labelled with the breaker number. A year later, when an extra socket needs connecting, the electrician finds the right circuit in a minute, without measuring or testing – and it cost less than €1 for the whole panel.

    Pros

    • Two jobs, one tie – bundling and marking.
    • Cheap traceability – a few cents per cable.
    • Stable plate – doesn't peel off like a stuck-on label on a round cable.
    • White colour – good contrast for writing.
    • Flexible nylon – doesn't crack when bent, rated up to +85 °C.
    • Standard 2.5x110 mm size – suits most cable bundles in a panel.

    Cons / limitations

    • Single-use lock – cannot be reused; the tie must be cut off to change the wiring.
    • White colour with no UV stabiliser – becomes brittle outdoors over time.
    • Small plate – fits only a short code.
    • Marker writing can rub off in a greasy environment – use a label instead.
    • 110 mm length is not enough for bundles thicker than ~25 mm.

    Safety and installation notes

    • Do not overtighten – excessive compression can damage the insulation of thin wires.
    • Trim the remaining tail flush at the lock – a sharp edge cuts hands and neighbouring wires.
    • Write with a permanent marker before bundling – it's easier to write on an empty plate.
    • Bundle data cables (UTP, fibre) loosely – compression degrades the signal.
    • In rooms with high temperature (>85 °C), use heat-resistant ties.
    • Outdoors, use only for a short period, or choose the UV-resistant (black) version.

    Quick selection guide

    Dimensions
    2.5 x 110 mm
    Plate
    integrated, writable
    Material
    nylon PA66
    Pack
    100 pcs
    Suitable when you need:
    • to bundle and label wires in a panel, cabinet or at equipment;
    • cheap circuit identification without a label printer;
    • standard-size ties for bundles up to ~25 mm.
    Check before use:
    • whether the bundle diameter does not exceed ~25 mm;
    • whether the ambient temperature is within -40…+85 °C;
    • whether the ties will be used indoors (not in direct sunlight);
    • whether you have a permanent marker or labels.
    Important reminder:
    The tie is intended for bundling and marking wires, not for supporting loads. Use clamps and supports to fix cable runs to structures.

    FAQ

    What should I write on the plate with?
    A permanent marker; for long-term marking, a printed self-adhesive label.
    Can it be opened and reused?
    No, the lock is single-use. To re-bundle, the tie must be cut off.
    Is it suitable outdoors?
    Limited – white ties have no UV stabiliser. Choose black UV-resistant ties for outdoor use.
    What bundle thickness can be tied?
    Up to approximately 25 mm diameter.
    Can it be used with internet cables?
    Yes, but do not overtighten – compressing UTP cables degrades the signal.
    How many pieces per pack?
    100 pcs.
