Network video recorder (NVR) | 4 channels | 4K | 1 HDD up to 10 TB | H.265+ | AcuSense | Hikvision DS-7604NXI-K1
The Hikvision DS-7604NXI-K1 is a 4-channel network video recorder for IP cameras. It is the smallest K-series AcuSense model in our range, intended for a home, small office or shop where up to 4 cameras are enough.
Key point:
It is the cheapest way to get a professional Hikvision recording platform with ONVIF, Hik-Connect and 4K output instead of a consumer Wi-Fi kit. Four 4 MP cameras with H.265+ fit into 40 Mbps with headroom, and a single 4 TB drive usually holds several weeks of footage. Human and vehicle analysis by the NVR runs on 1 channel – use it for the most important camera (e.g. at the gate).Channels
4 IP, up to 12 MPBandwidth
40 Mbps incomingStorage
1 SATA up to 10 TBOutputs
HDMI 4K + VGAConnectivity and integration
- RJ-45 Ethernet 10/100/1000 Mbps – Cameras connect via a PoE switch on the local network; the same port is used for remote access.
- Hik-Connect app – Live view, recordings and notifications on your phone (iOS / Android).
- ONVIF Profile S/G and ISAPI – ONVIF cameras from other brands can be added; check the specific model's compatibility.
- 4K HDMI and VGA – HDMI up to 3840 × 2160 / 30 Hz, VGA up to 1920 × 1080 / 60 Hz – a monitor or TV connects directly.
How it works
Fit a SATA drive (up to 10 TB), connect the NVR to the router or switch serving the cameras and to a monitor or TV via HDMI.
The NVR records up to 4 camera streams (up to 40 Mbps total) in H.265+. Human and vehicle recognition runs on the selected channel so that notifications cover only relevant events.
The result is a small but professional system: video on the TV, an archive on the drive and notifications on your phone via Hik-Connect.
Why choose the DS-7604NXI-K1?
A professional Hikvision K-series platform for 4 cameras at a low price – easy to move to a larger NVR later within the same Hik-Connect account.Technical specifications

- Human and vehicle recognition – by the NVR on 1 channel, fewer false alarms.
- H.265+ – up to 75 % smaller recordings according to the manufacturer, longer archive.
- 4K HDMI output – video directly on a TV or monitor.
- Hik-Connect – remote viewing and notifications without a static IP address.
- USB export – quickly hand over a clip to the police or insurer.
How does it differ from similar models?
- Hikvision DS-7608NXI-K1/8P – 8 channels and 8 PoE ports – cameras powered directly from the NVR; more than twice the price.
- Hikvision DS-7608NXI-K1(D)/Alarm4+1 – 8 channels, 80 Mbps, drive up to 16 TB and alarm I/O 4/1.
- IMOU NVR1104HS-W-S2 – 4-channel Wi-Fi NVR for homes with IMOU Life – cheaper, but without AcuSense and aimed at IMOU Wi-Fi cameras.
- Dahua NVR4104HS-4KS3 – 4-channel Dahua NVR in a similar price class – the choice if the system is built in the Dahua / DMSS ecosystem.
Where is it used?
- Private house or country home
- Flat with stairwell and parking space
- Small office
- Barber shop or beauty salon
- Kiosk or small shop
- Garage or workshop
Use by need
For a home owner who wants 2–4 cameras.
A professional NVR with TV output and a phone app for less than 8-channel models. For a small barber shop owner.
A camera at the till and the entrance – archive on the drive, review on the phone after hours. For an installer who needs a budget Hikvision solution.
ONVIF and ISAPI allow existing cameras to be integrated and the system expanded later.Practical use
If a country home needs the gate, yard and outbuilding covered by three 4 MP cameras, connect them through a 4-port PoE switch to the DS-7604NXI-K1, fit a 4 TB drive and enable human and vehicle recognition on the gate camera. Phone notifications arrive only when a person or car appears at the gate, and the fourth channel stays free.Pros
- The cheapest AcuSense NVR in the range
- Cameras up to 12 MP, 4K HDMI
- ONVIF Profile S/G and ISAPI
- Drive up to 10 TB
- Hik-Connect app
- Low consumption – ≤ 10 W without HDD
Cons / limitations
- Only 4 channels and 40 Mbps – expansion needs a bigger NVR (e.g. DS-7608NXI-K1/8P).
- No PoE ports – cameras need a PoE switch.
- Human / vehicle analysis by the NVR on 1 channel only; others need AcuSense cameras.
- No alarm I/O in this version.
Safety and installation notes
- Install the NVR in a dry, ventilated place – leave space for airflow in a cabinet or rack; operating temperature -10…+55 °C.
- Fit the hard drive only with the power disconnected; choose surveillance-grade HDDs designed for 24/7 operation.
- Power it from the source specified by the manufacturer (12 VDC, 1.5 A); a UPS and surge protection are recommended – a power cut also stops recording.
- On first start-up set a strong admin password, enable Hik-Connect only if remote access is needed, and keep the firmware up to date.
- GDPR: set the retention period to what you really need, restrict access with user rights and mark the monitored area with signs.
- Use solid-copper CAT5e / CAT6 cable for PoE cameras (Ethernet limit – 100 m) and seal cable entries outdoors.
