    FLTSN-P500P100 – a Sentera Controls passive platinum PT500 temperature probe in a black ABS plastic tube with 1 m shielded cable, IP65. Intended for measuring temperature in HVAC systems, indoors and outdoors.

    Key idea:
    When the sensor has to be routed farther from the controller – outdoors, into a chamber or a thermowell – the 1 m shielded cable and IP65 probe make this possible without intermediate connections.

    Operating principle

    An acrylic-coated platinum PT500 element placed in a black ABS plastic tube with a 1 m two-core shielded 0.5 mm² cable (white sheath, tinned ends). Two-wire connection: the blue core is the sensor element, and the brown core is connected to the shield and reduces electromagnetic interference.

    The element resistance rises linearly with temperature: 500 Ω at 0 °C, ≈ 616 Ω at 60 °C (temperature coefficient 3850 ppm/K), so no calibration is needed; response time t0.9 ≤ 5 s at an airflow of 3 m/s.

    Result – a controller with a PT500 input receives the temperature with F0.3 class accuracy (±0.30 °C at 0 °C … ±0.60 °C at 60 °C) from a point up to 1 m away, with no intermediate connections. Thanks to IP65 the probe can also be used outdoors, but the operating range is limited to -20…+60 °C, and there is no active 0-10 VDC or Modbus output.

    Rule: the sensing element (PT100 / PT500 / PT1000 / NTC) must match the controller input, and for NTC – also its resistance characteristic. Choose a cable length that avoids splices; for extension use only a shielded cable.
    When to choose another solution: for a room – ROTSN series (wall-mounted housing); for a duct – TUTSN series (150 / 250 mm); when the controller accepts only Modbus RTU – DTS-M (duct) or DTP-M (strap-on).

    Cons / limitations

    • The plastic (ABS) probe is mechanically less robust – for a sturdier solution there is the FLTSN-P series with a stainless steel probe

    Safety and installation notes

    • Installation and connection are to be carried out by a qualified installer.
    • For extension use only a shielded cable, routed separately from 230 V lines.
    • Do not exceed the operating temperature of -20…+60 °C and < 95 % rH non-condensing.
    • Secure the cable so that it is not strained or damaged.
