    FLTSN-P500-100 – a Sentera Controls passive platinum PT500 temperature sensor: resin-insulated Ø8 mm element in a stainless steel tube with 1 m wires. Intended for measuring temperature in HVAC systems – in thermowells, ducts, on pipes.

    A stainless steel probe with 1 m wires – a classic HVAC solution for a controller with a PT500 input: placed in a thermowell or fixed in a duct, with no power supply or settings.

    Operating principle

    The platinum PT500 element is resin-sealed and housed in a Ø8 mm, 53 mm long stainless steel tube with 1 m 0.5 mm² leads. The probe is inserted into a thermowell or duct, or fixed to a surface, and the leads are connected to the controller's PT500 input (a shielded cable for extension).

    Resistance increases with temperature (positive coefficient): 500 Ω at 0 °C. The controller supplies a 0.1–0.40 mA measuring current and calculates the temperature from the resistance.

    Result – temperature within -20…+60 °C with F0.3 class accuracy (±0.30 °C at 0 °C … ±0.60 °C at 60 °C), long-term stability < ±0.04 %, insulation resistance > 10 MΩ. The probe has no active output, and hot water circuits above +60 °C require a different solution.

    Rule: the sensing element (PT100 / PT500 / PT1000 / NTC) must match the controller input, and for NTC – also its resistance characteristic. Choose a cable length that avoids splices; for extension use only a shielded cable.
    When to choose another solution: for a room – ROTSN series (wall-mounted housing); for a duct – TUTSN series (150 / 250 mm); when the controller accepts only Modbus RTU – DTS-M (duct) or DTP-M (strap-on).
