Pitot tube connection kit for measuring air velocity | 150mm | for ducts Ø100-300mm | PVC tube 2m | Sentera Controls | PSET-PTS-200
The PSET-PTS-200 is a Sentera Controls Pitot tube kit for measuring air velocity in a duct together with a differential pressure transmitter or controller. The tube length is 150 mm, for ducts Ø100–300 mm; if the duct cross-section is known, air volume can also be measured and controlled.
Key idea:
The Pitot tube compares total and static pressure in the flow direction – their difference (dynamic pressure) depends on the air velocity. This makes it possible to know how much air actually flows through the duct without an expensive flow meter.Tube length

Air velocity (m/s), air volume (m³/h)Operating principle
The tube is inserted into the duct through a drilled hole and fixed with a flexible flange and screws; its tip is pointed against the flow. The "+D" (total pressure) and "−S" (static pressure) connections are connected with tubes to the "+" and "−" ports of the differential pressure transmitter or controller.
The device calculates air velocity (m/s) from the dynamic pressure and, once the duct cross-section is entered, air volume (Q = A × V). For a rectangular duct the equivalent diameter de = 1.30 × (a × b)^0.625 / (a + b)^0.25 is used.
Result – air velocity and airflow in the duct are measured without a separate flow meter. Engineer's note: do not install in a turbulence zone – away from filters, coolers, fans and bends; according to the installation diagram, the measuring point must be no closer than 7.5 duct diameters downstream of a disturbance and about 3 diameters before the next disturbance.
Benefits PSET-PTS-200?
Simple and inexpensive measurement of air velocity and air volume in a duct with a Sentera pressure transmitter or controller.Technical specifications

Main functions
- Air velocity measurement – m/s directly in the duct.
- Air volume – with the duct cross-section known – m³/h without a flow meter.
- Compatible with Sentera – HPS, DPS, HPD, DPD transmitters and HPSP, HPSA, DPSP, DPSA controllers.
- Quick installation – a flexible flange and screws are included.
- For rectangular ducts – the appropriate tube is chosen by the equivalent diameter de.
Where is it used?
- Ducts Ø100–300 mm
- Supply airflow control and maintenance
- VAV / CAV systems with HPSP / DPSP / HPSA / DPSA controllers
- Commissioning and balancing of ventilation systems
- Airflow measurement with HPS, DPS, HPD, DPD transmitters without a separate flow meter
- Rectangular ducts, selected by equivalent diameter
On-demand operation
For the apartment and small office ventilation commissioning engineer.
The 150 mm tube is for Ø100–300 mm ducts, where the air velocity is measured directly in the duct.For VAV system integrators.
Together with an HPSA / DPSA controller, the damper maintains the set air velocity or air volume Q = A × V.For the balancing specialist.
The airflow in a branch is determined without a separate flow meter, knowing the duct cross-section.Practical application
If a constant air volume has to be maintained in a Ø250 mm supply duct, then the PSET-PTS-200 is installed no closer than 7.5 duct diameters after an elbow and connected to an HPSP or DPSP controller in which the entered cross-section allows Q = A × V to be calculated.Application guide: how it is used in practice
The PSET-PTS-200 is used in various systems – only the connected device and the measuring point change:
Site What is connected Result Installer's note Supply duct with an EC fan Pitot tube → HPSP / DPSP controller (+D → +, −S → −) The fan maintains the set airflow Enter the duct cross-section in the controller Zone with a damper Pitot tube → HPSA / DPSA controller The damper maintains the set air velocity Choose the measuring point in a straight duct section Rectangular duct Equivalent diameter by formula The right kit and the right airflow E.g. a 300 × 300 mm duct corresponds to de = 328 mm How to choose a pressure connection kit
Measurement task / duct Recommended model Pressure difference, airflow by K-factor – plastic nozzles PSET-PVC-200 (ABS nozzles, 2 m tube) Pressure difference, airflow by K-factor – aluminium nozzles PSET-QF-200 (aluminium nozzles, 2 m tube) Air velocity / air volume, duct Ø100–300 mm PSET-PTS-200 (Pitot tube 150 mm) ← this model Air velocity / air volume, duct Ø150–500 mm PSET-PTL-200 (Pitot tube 250 mm) Rule: for pressure difference (filter, duct static pressure) and airflow by fan K-factor – PSET-PVC-200 or PSET-QF-200; for air velocity and airflow by duct cross-section – Pitot tube: PSET-PTS-200 for Ø100–300 mm ducts, PSET-PTL-200 for Ø150–500 mm. For a rectangular duct calculate the equivalent diameter.When to choose another solution: a longer tube for Ø150–500 mm ducts – PSET-PTL-200; for pressure difference and airflow by K-factor – PSET-PVC-200 or PSET-QF-200.Pros
- Air velocity and air volume without a flow meter
- Suitable for Sentera sensors and controllers
- Flange, screws and tube included
- Lightweight, flame-retardant ABS
- Up to 10 000 Pa and 60 °C
Cons / limitations
- Only for Ø100–300 mm ducts
- Sensitive to the installation location – a straight duct section is required
- Operating temperature up to 60 °C
Safety and installation notes
- Before drilling the duct, make sure there are no cables or other services behind the wall.
- Do not exceed an operating pressure of 10 000 Pa and a temperature of 60 °C.
- Point the tube nozzle against the flow and secure it firmly with the flange.
Quick selection guide
150 mmØ100–300 mmAir velocityPVC tube 2 m10 000 PaSuitable when you need:- to measure air velocity in a duct;
- to control airflow by duct cross-section;
- to commission and balance ventilation systems.
Check before use:- the duct diameter (Ø100–300 mm);
- whether there is a straight section for the measuring location.
- whether the device supports the air velocity mode.
Important reminder: The PSET-PTS-200 measures nothing by itself – it is connected to a differential pressure transmitter or controller.FAQ
