    MTPNX10K-NA – Sentera Controls 10 kΩ potentiometer for an EC fan, supplied directly from the EC fan (0–12 VDC). The knob changes the output steplessly from 0 V to the supply voltage, and the end position is OFF with an open dry contact.

    Key idea:
    The cheapest and simplest manual control of an EC fan: no separate supply is needed – the potentiometer uses the fan's auxiliary DC voltage, and the dry contact additionally allows external equipment to be switched on or off.

    Operating principle

    The potentiometer is connected to the EC fan control terminals: supply – from the fan's DC output, signal – to the fan's control input.

    This is a passive 10 kΩ potentiometer, not a power controller: analogue control signal – no more than 12 VDC / 1 mA.

    When the knob is turned fully anticlockwise, it locks in the OFF position: output 0 V, dry contact open. When turned clockwise – the contact closes and the signal increases steplessly.

    Engineer's note: the output maximum equals the voltage supplied by the fan – if the fan supplies 10 VDC, the full 0-10 V range is obtained.

    Rule: Choose MTPNX10K-NA when the controlled device supplies DC voltage (up to 12 VDC) to the potentiometer and its input is suitable for a 10 kΩ potentiometer. If limit trimmers or another signal type are needed – choose MTPNG010-AT or SDP-E0US.
