Potentiometer for EC fan 10kΩ with OFF position and dry contact | Sentera Controls | SDP-X10K-NA
SDP-X10K-NA – Sentera Controls 10 kΩ potentiometer with OFF position and dry contact. It is supplied with up to 24 VDC from the controlled device or controller, and the knob changes the output signal steplessly from 0 to the supply voltage (Us).
Key idea:
The simplest way to give an EC fan or controller manual control: the potentiometer uses the device's DC supply, and the integrated dry contact (up to 1 A) switches external equipment on or off together with the knob.Power supply
up to 24 VDC / 1 mAAo output
0–Us (stepless)Dry contact
Max. 1 A, ON / OFFProtection
IP44 / IP54Operating principle
The potentiometer is connected to the controlled device: Us and GND – the device's DC supply output (up to 24 VDC), Ao – the device's control input. The dry contact (DC) is connected into the start circuit of the external device.
This is not a power controller: it is a voltage divider through which no more than 1 mA flows. The EC fan changes its speed according to the received voltage.
The knob changes the output steplessly from 0 to Us. In the end position the dry contact is open (OFF); when turned it closes (ON) and switches on the connected equipment.
Engineer's note: the output maximum equals the supply voltage, so for a 0-10 V EC input the potentiometer must be supplied from a 10 VDC source. There are no limit trimmers.
Benefits SDP-X10K-NA?
No separate power supply unit or switch is needed: one device provides the control signal and switches on auxiliary equipment via a dry contact.Technical specifications

Main functions
- Stepless 0–Us signal – stepless, directly from the device's supply.
- Dry contact up to 1 A – external equipment ON / OFF together with the knob.
- OFF position – in the end position the contact is open.
- Very low consumption – 1 mA – does not load the auxiliary supply of the EC fan.
- Universal enclosure – flush-mounted IP44 or surface-mounted IP54.
Where is it used?
- EC fans and heat recovery units with an auxiliary DC output
- Sentera controllers with +V / Ai / GND terminals (e.g. EVS-1 series)
- Damper actuators with voltage control
- Apartments, offices, technical rooms – manual control
On-demand operation
For the installer.
Three wires and a contact – quick connection without a power supply unit.For the designer.
The cheapest manual control solution with ON / OFF function.For the user.
One knob both switches on and controls.Application guide: how it is used in practice
SDP-X10K-NA can be adapted to different sites – only what is connected changes:
Site What is connected Result Installer's note Electronic AC controller +V, Ai, GND → Sentera EVS-1 controller terminals Manual AC fan speed control The controller's +V source must be ≤ 24 VDC EC fan with a 10 V output Us, GND ← fan 10 V output; Ao → control input Stepless speed 0–10 V Check the purpose of the fan's 10 V output in the documentation Fan with damper DC contact → damper actuator circuit The damper opens when the knob is turned out of OFF Contact load ≤ 1 A Enabling a heater or other device DC contact → device enable input Equipment is switched on only when ventilation is running Suitable only for dry (potential-free) switching up to 1 A How to select the controller current
Rated current of the motor(s) Recommended model OFF position needed, supply 5–24 VDC SDP-E0US-AT (OFF, trimmers) Continuous min. flow needed (no OFF), 5–24 VDC SDP-E0US-BT (no OFF, trimmers) Dry contact for an external device needed, 5–24 VDC SDP-E0US-DC (dry contact 1 A) OFF position and Modbus RTU needed, 24 VDC SDP-M010-AT (OFF, Modbus RTU) Modbus RTU needed without OFF position, 24 VDC SDP-M010-BT (no OFF, Modbus RTU) Modbus RTU and dry contact needed, 24 VDC SDP-M010-DC (Modbus RTU, dry contact 1 A) Simple 0–Us signal with OFF and dry contact needed SDP-X10K-NA (10 kΩ, dry contact 1 A) ← this model Rule: SDP-X10K-NA is suitable when the controlled device itself has a DC supply output (up to 24 VDC) and its input accepts a 0–Us signal. If you need to set min. / max. limits or need a current or PWM signal – choose SDP-E0US; if Modbus – SDP-M010.When to choose another solution: with MIN / MAX trimmers and 0-20 mA / PWM – SDP-E0US series; with Modbus RTU – SDP-M010 series; 230 VAC supplied – SPV-8 or MTVN1 series; equivalent MTP series model – MTPNX10K-NA.Pros
- OFF position and dry contact up to 1 A
- Supplied from the controlled device, consumption 1 mA
- Stepless signal 0–Us
- IP44 / IP54, flush-mounted or surface-mounted
Cons / limitations
- No MIN / MAX trimmers
- Output equals the supply voltage – a 10 VDC source is required to obtain 0-10 V
- No 0-20 mA, PWM or Modbus
- Indoor use only
Safety and installation notes
- Installation and connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician with the supply to all connected devices disconnected.
- Supply – no more than 24 VDC; connecting mains voltage is prohibited.
- Dry contact load – no more than 1 A.
- For indoor use only, 0–50 °C, < 95 % rH non-condensing.
Quick selection guide
10 kΩup to 24 VDCOFFdry contact 1 AIP44 / IP54Suitable when you need:- provide manual control for an EC fan or controller without a power supply unit;
- switch on an external device together with the knob;
- inexpensively replace a faulty 10 kΩ potentiometer.
Check before use:- whether the controlled device has a DC supply output of up to 24 VDC;
- whether the input accepts a 0–Us signal;
- the external device current through the dry contact (≤ 1 A).
Important reminder: SDP-X10K-NA is a control signal source, not a power controller – the motor current does not flow through it.FAQ
Is a separate supply required?
No, it is supplied from the DC output of the controlled device or controller (up to 24 VDC, 1 mA).What will the output signal be?
From 0 to the supply voltage – with a 10 VDC supply, 0–10 V is obtained.What does the dry contact do?
In the OFF position it is open; when the knob is turned it closes and switches on an external device (up to 1 A).Can a min. speed be set?
No, there are no trimmers – for that choose the SDP-E0US series.Potentiometer for EC fan 10kΩ with OFF position and dry contact | Sentera Controls | SDP-X10K-NA
