Potentiometer for EC fan with OFF position | 0-10VDC/0-20mA/PWM | Sentera Controls | MTVN1-010-PM
MTVN1-010-PM – Sentera Controls potentiometer for an EC fan, supplied with 230 VAC, 50–60 Hz. The output is selected by jumper as 0-10 VDC, 0-20 mA or PWM, and Vmin and Vmax are set with trimmers.
Key idea:
Potentiometer supplied directly from the mains – without a 24 V power supply unit – with selectable signal type and limits. In the OFF position the output is 0 VDC – the fan stops.Power supply
230 VAC, 50–60 HzOutput
0-10 VDC / 0-20 mA / PWMOFF position
Yra (0 VDC)Protection
IP44 / IP54Operating principle
The potentiometer is connected directly to the 230 VAC mains, and the output signal – to the control input of an EC fan, actuator, AC controller or frequency inverter. No separate power supply module is needed.
This is not a power controller: only the potentiometer's own supply and signal current flows through it; the fan motor current does not flow through it.
The output type is selected by jumper. Vmin is set with a trimmer to 1–7 VDC / 2–14 mA / 10–70 %, Vmax – 3–10 VDC / 6–20 mA / 30–100 %.
In the OFF position the output is 0 VDC – the fan is switched off without a separate switch. Engineer's note: since the terminals carry 230 VAC, route signal and mains wires separately and connect only with the supply disconnected.
Benefits MTVN1-010-PM?
Supply directly from the 230 VAC mains saves a 24 V power supply unit and additional wiring – the potentiometer is installed like a normal switch.Technical specifications

- Vmin / Vmax trimmers – speed limits are adapted to the site.
- OFF position – output 0 VDC, the fan stops.
- UV-resistant enclosure – white plastic, protection against dust, splashes and impacts, IP44 / IP54.
Where is it used?
- Offices, shops, workspaces without 24 V automation
- EC duct and roof fans
- AC fans with Sentera EVS / MVS controllers
- FI-E frequency inverters
- Damper actuators
On-demand operation
For the electrician.
Supply from the existing 230 VAC line – no power supply unit needed.For the ventilation installer.
Suitable for EC fans, AC controllers and frequency inverters.For the user.
A simple knob in the room.Application guide: how it is used in practice
MTVN1-010-PM can be adapted to different sites – only what is connected to its output changes:
Site What is connected Result Installer's note Office with an EC duct fan 230 VAC → L, N; signal → EC fan control input Manual ventilation control without a 24 V unit Route signal and mains cables separately AC fan with a Sentera EVS / MVS controller 0-10 VDC → controller analogue input Potentiometer in the room, controller in the control panel Signal GND – to the controller GND FI-E frequency inverter 0-10 VDC → inverter analogue input Manual three-phase fan speed setting Check the inverter input configuration Damper with a 0-20 mA actuator Jumper – current mode; signal → actuator Manual damper position setting Adjust Vmin / Vmax to the actuator stroke How to select the controller current
Rated current of the motor(s) Recommended model Continuous min. flow needed (no OFF), 0-10 VDC only MTVN1-010-NA (no OFF, 0-10 VDC) OFF and selectable 0-10 V / 0-20 mA / PWM needed MTVN1-010-PM (OFF, Vmin / Vmax) ← this model Dry contact and selectable signal needed MTVN1-010-CP (dry contact, Vmin / Vmax) Rule: The MTVN1 series is suitable when 230 VAC is available in the room but there is no 24 V supply. Choose as needed: only simple 0-10 VDC without OFF – NA; OFF and signal type selection needed – PM; dry contact needed – CP. Motor power has no influence on the selection.When to choose another solution: with Modbus RTU and 230 VAC supply – SPV-8 series (PM / CP / MF); with a display and stepped mode – RDCV9-AD; low DC voltage supplied – SDP-E0US or MTP series; for AC fans – EVS or MVS controllers controlled by this potentiometer.Pros
- Three signal types
- Vmin / Vmax trimmers
- OFF position
- Supplied directly from 230 VAC
- Flush-mounted or surface-mounted installation
- UV-resistant enclosure, IP44 / IP54
Cons / limitations
- The terminals carry 230 VAC: installation by a qualified electrician only
- No Modbus RTU
Safety and installation notes
- Installation and connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician with the supply to all connected devices disconnected.
- The terminals carry 230 VAC – connect only with the supply disconnected, observing electrical safety requirements.
- Route signal cables separately from power cables.
- IP54 is ensured only when the surface-mounted enclosure is correctly installed with seals.
- Clean only with a damp cloth.
Quick selection guide
230 VAC0-10 V / 0-20 mA / PWMOFFIP44 / IP54Suitable when you need:- control an EC fan when only 230 VAC is available;
- control an AC controller or frequency inverter from the room;
- switch off the fan with the knob.
Check before use:- the input type of the controlled device (0-10 V, 0-20 mA or PWM);
- whether an OFF position or a dry contact is needed;
- whether Modbus is required – if so, the SPV-8 series.
Important reminder: MTVN1-010-PM is a control signal source, not a power controller – the motor current does not flow through it.FAQ
