Potentiometer for EC fan with auxiliary contact | Sentera Controls | MTPND010-DC
MTPND010-DC – Sentera Controls potentiometer for EC fans with an additional (dry) contact, supplied with 3–15 VDC. The 0-10 V control signal is changed with the knob, and the Vmin and Vmax limits are set with internal trimmers.
Key idea:
The potentiometer has no OFF position: when the knob is turned fully, the set minimum signal remains – the fan runs at least at min. speed. The auxiliary dry contact is intended, e.g., for activating a frequency inverter.Power supply

0-10 VAuxiliary contact
Dry contact (e.g. for a frequency inverter)Protection
IP44 / IP54Operating principle
The potentiometer is installed in a living or working room, while the controlled EC fan, controller or frequency inverter is in a technical room or control panel. A 3–15 VDC supply and the 0-10 V output signal are connected, and the dry contact – into the start circuit of the inverter or other device.
This is not a power controller – it only generates a control signal, and the speed is changed by the EC motor or controller itself.
Vmin is set within 10–70 % and Vmax within 30–100 % of the supply voltage with internal trimmers. To access them, remove the knob, unscrew the nut and remove the front cover.
Engineer's note: since there is no OFF position, the min. signal never reaches 0 V – set Vmin deliberately, according to the min. required air volume.
Benefits MTPND010-DC?
A compact, low-cost manual control solution for EC fans, AC controllers and frequency inverters with a 0-10 V input. The contact allows the inverter to be started at the same time.Technical specifications

MTPND010-DC can be adapted to different sites – only what is connected to its output changes:
Site What is connected Result Installer's note Apartment or house with an EC fan 0-10 V output → EC fan control input Manual stepless ventilation control Potentiometer in a living room, fan in a technical room AC fan with a Sentera EVS / MVS controller 0-10 V → controller analogue input Controller in the control panel, control in the room Connect the signal GND to the controller GND FI-E series frequency inverter 0-10 V → analogue input; dry contact → inverter start (RUN) input The inverter is started and controlled with a single potentiometer Check the contact load limit in the datasheet Damper with a proportional actuator 0-10 V → actuator control input Manual damper position setting The actuator must accept a 0-10 V signal How to select the controller current

Motor power has no influence on the selection.When to choose another solution: with 0-20 mA / PWM output and trimmers – SDP-E0US series; with Modbus RTU – SDP-M010 or SPV-8 series; for 230 VAC supply – MTVN1 series; for AC fans – electronic EVS or MVS controllers controlled by this potentiometer.Pros
- Auxiliary dry contact
- Stepless 0-10 V signal
- Vmin / Vmax limits
- Continuous min. ventilation
- Flush-mounted or surface-mounted installation
Cons / limitations
- No OFF position
- A 3–15 VDC supply is required
- Trimmers are accessible only after removing the cover
- No Modbus, 0-20 mA or PWM output
- The dry contact load limit is not stated on the product page
Safety and installation notes
- Installation and connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician with the supply to all connected devices disconnected.
- Supply – only 3–15 VDC; connecting mains voltage is prohibited.
- Before connecting, check the input type of the controlled device (0-10 V).
- Clean only with a damp cloth.
Quick selection guide
3–15 VDC0-10 Vbe OFFIP44 / IP54dry contactSuitable when you need:- control an EC fan manually with a 0-10 V signal;
- ensure constant min. ventilation;
- start a frequency inverter at the same time via the dry contact.
Check before use:- the available 3–15 VDC supply;
- the 0-10 V input of the controlled device;
- whether an OFF position is needed – if so, MTPNG010-AT.
Important reminder: MTPND010-DC is a control signal source, not a power controller – the motor current does not flow through it.FAQ
Does it have an OFF position?
No. When the knob is turned fully, the set min. signal remains.Where are the trimmers?
Under the front cover: remove the knob, unscrew the nut and remove the cover.Is it suitable for a frequency inverter?
Yes, Sentera specifies FI-E series frequency inverters. The inverter can also be enabled via the dry contact.Can it be powered from 24 VDC?
No – the specified supply is 3–15 VDC; for 24 VAC / DC choose MTPNG010-AT.Potentiometer for EC fan with auxiliary contact | Sentera Controls | MTPND010-DC
Sentera MTPND010-DC – potentiometer for EC fans with an additional contact: 3–15 VDC supply, 0-10 V output, Vmin / Vmax trimmers, no OFF position, IP44 / IP54.
