Rack-mount smart AC/DC telecommunications power supply – 19-inch, 1U, 2400 W, –53.5 V DC
Rack-mount AC/DC DC power supply is intended to power telecommunications, transmission, wireless base-station and enterprise communication equipment. The system converts 230 V AC single-phase voltage into an adjustable –42...–58 V DC output voltage with a nominal value of –53.5 V DC.
The compact 1U-high enclosure accommodates up to two 1200 W rectifier modules. When both modules are used, the maximum system output power reaches 2400 W. The modular design allows the power capacity to be adapted to the specific load and simplifies maintenance.
The system is installed in a standard 19-inch telecommunications rack or another suitably sized technical enclosure. The integrated controller monitors power, batteries and environmental signals, supports remote management through serial or network interfaces and can transmit alarms via dry-contact outputs.
Modular 1U system:
The enclosure can accommodate up to two 1200 W rectifier modules. With both modules installed, the total system power reaches up to 2400 W, while the compact 1U format saves rack space.Remote monitoring and control:
The controller supports RS232, RS485 and SNMP communication. System status, alarms, environmental sensor signals and other controller-supported information can be transmitted through the communication interfaces. For professional installation:
This is telecommunications and industrial power equipment. Connection to the 230 V AC supply, DC loads, batteries and protection circuits must be carried out by a qualified specialist in accordance with the project wiring diagram.Mounting format

The system accepts 230 V AC single-phase input voltage and converts it through the rectifier modules into negative-potential DC voltage used by telecommunications equipment. The adjustable output range is –42...–58 V DC, while the nominal output voltage is –53.5 V DC.
This output-voltage range is designed for telecommunications equipment and battery-backup systems using a nominal –48 V DC power architecture.
Negative-potential designation:
Before connecting the load, the system polarity must be verified. The –53.5 V DC designation indicates a negative-potential power system, so incorrect wiring may damage the powered equipment.Up to 2400 W output power
The system has two positions for 1200 W rectifier modules. With both modules installed, the maximum total system output power reaches 2400 W.
The modular architecture allows the system to start with a lower power rating and be expanded with a second rectifier module when required. Power reserve or partial redundancy in the event of a single-module failure may also be configured, but the actual redundancy logic depends on the system configuration and load.
Easily replaceable rectifier modules
The modules can be removed and replaced without shutting down the entire system, provided that the remaining modules can safely supply the connected load.
This hot-swap capability simplifies servicing at telecommunications sites where minimising power interruption is important. Front maintenance access allows the modules to be reached from the front of the rack.
Replacement while the system is operating:
Before removing a module, make sure that the remaining rectifier or battery system can support the entire load. Modules must be replaced by qualified technical personnel.High rectifier efficiency
Depending on the selected rectifier-module version, efficiency is specified as greater than 92% , while the highest-efficiency version has a peak value above 96% .
Higher conversion efficiency reduces energy losses, heat generation and cooling demand. This is particularly important in telecommunications racks containing several heat-generating devices.
Rectifier standby and sleep function
The controller can optimise rectifier operation according to the connected load. When power demand is low, an unnecessary module can be switched to a lower-consumption standby or sleep mode.
As the load increases, the additional module can be reactivated. This helps maintain a more efficient system operating point and reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
Smart battery management
The system includes battery-circuit protection and management functions. Two 20 A battery fusesare provided to protect the backup-power circuits.
Smart battery management can be used to monitor charging, discharging, temperature and alarm status. The controller has a separate battery-temperature sensor input.
DC distribution
The DC distribution section includes two 40 A load fuses and two 20 A battery fuses. The fuses help protect individual load and backup-power circuits against overcurrent.
Fan power outputs are provided for two fan channels. The system controller also has separate alarm inputs for the first and second fans.
Fuse rating is not the permitted continuous load:
Circuit cables, terminals, connections and loads must be selected according to the design current. It must not be assumed automatically that every branch protected by a 40 A fuse is intended for a continuous 40 A load.Surge protection
The AC input section includes a surge protection device with specified parameters of 20 kA / 40 kAat an 8/20 μs impulse waveform.
The protection helps reduce the effect of transient mains overvoltages on the rectifiers and the connected DC system.
Surge-protection coordination:
The integrated protection device does not replace the staged surge-protection system for the entire site. Protection of building switchboards, earthing and equipotential bonding must be designed according to the requirements of the specific installation.Integrated controller with LCD display
The system controller has an LCD displayfor viewing the main operating parameters, statuses and alarms. The controller monitors the condition of the rectifiers, batteries, environmental signals and other connected circuits.
The controller can be used to set system parameters, review alarms and configure communication functions. The specific menu functions and adjustable parameters must be checked against the controller manual.
Environmental and alarm-signal monitoring
The controller includes several digital and sensor inputs for monitoring not only the power system but also the environmental conditions inside the telecommunications rack.
Signal inputs:- 1 battery-temperature input.
- 1 ambient-temperature input.
- 1 smoke-detector input.
- 1 door or gate status input.
- 1 water-leak detector input.
- 2 general-purpose digital inputs.
The system alarm interface also includes first-fan, second-fan, door and smoke signals. The controller has four dry-contact alarm outputs that can be connected to a building-management, alarm or remote-monitoring system.
RS232, RS485 and SNMP communication
The controller supports RS232 and RS485 serial interfaces as well as SNMP remote network-monitoring functionality.
These interfaces allow the power system to be integrated into a telecommunications-site management platform for remote alarm monitoring and operating-parameter analysis.
Natural system cooling
The main 1U system enclosure is specified with natural cooling. Individual rectifier modules use forced cooling to help maintain a suitable electronics temperature under higher load.
When installed in a telecommunications rack, the air intake and exhaust openings must remain unobstructed. Inadequate airflow may reduce the permissible power and shorten equipment service life.
Wide ambient-temperature range
The complete system is specified for an –40...+80 °C operating ambient temperature. The storage-temperature range is –40...+70 °C.
The operating-temperature and full-load limits of the rectifier modules depend on the selected module version. One version is specified for operation from –40 to +85 °C with full load maintained up to +55 °C, while another operates from –40 to +80 °C with full load maintained up to +50 °C.
Power derating may be required:
An operating temperature of up to +80 °C does not mean that the system can continuously operate at the maximum 2400 W throughout the entire range. Power derating may apply above the rectifier's full-load temperature limit.19-inch, 1U installation
The system enclosure dimensions are 440 × 320 × 44 mm. A height of approximately 44 mm corresponds to the 1U mounting format, so the system occupies only one standard rack unit.
The device can be installed in a 19-inch rack or inside a technical cabinet. Front servicing and front cable entry and exit simplify access in densely populated racks.
Mounting depth:
Although the enclosure depth is 320 mm, additional space must be allowed for cable bend radius, connector positions, airflow and maintenance access.Technical specifications
