Smart flush-mounted CO2 sensor-controller | CO2 400-2000ppm | T 0…50°C | 0-95%rH | 0-10VDC/0-20mA/PWM | Modbus RTU | 85-264VAC | IP30 | Sentera Controls | FCMF8-R
FCMF8-R – a Sentera Controls smart flush-mounted CO2 sensor-controller that measures CO2 concentration (400–2000 ppm), temperature (0…+50 °C) and relative humidity (0–95 % rH) in the room and has one control output (0-10 VDC, 0-20 mA or PWM), which the integrated algorithm calculates from the highest of the T, rH and CO2 values. Supply – 85–264 VAC, 50–60 Hz.
Key idea:
This is demand-controlled ventilation “out of the box”: the sensor itself decides how much ventilation is needed and directly controls an EC fan, an AC speed controller or a damper actuator. Any of the three measured quantities can be disabled – e.g. to control by CO2 only.CO2 range
400–2000 ppmOutput

85–264 VAC, 50–60 HzProtection
IP30, indoors onlyOperating principle
The device is flush-mounted in a wall box or surface-mounted on the wall and connected directly to the mains (L, N; 85–264 VAC); output – Ao and GND, Modbus RTU – A, /B (with Cat5 or EIB cable).
The CO2 sensor, together with the temperature and humidity sensor, measures air quality (the CO2 sensor needs 2 min of warm-up to operate and 10 min for full accuracy), and all parameters are available over Modbus RTU. A range is set for each quantity, and the output (0–100 %) follows the highest of the three calculated values; the output type is 0-10 VDC (≥ 50 kΩ), 0-20 mA (≤ 500 Ω) or 1 kHz PWM (3.3 or 12 VDC), so it directly controls an EC fan, an AC fan speed controller or a damper actuator.
Result – ventilation according to the actual number of people and air quality: in an empty room ventilation runs at a minimum, and as people gather it increases, which reduces heating / cooling losses and fan energy consumption.
Benefits FCMF8-R?
CO2, temperature, humidity and a control algorithm in one device – demand-controlled ventilation without a separate controller or programming.Technical specifications

Main functions
- Integrated algorithm – the output follows the highest of T, rH and CO2 – direct control of an EC fan, an AC controller or a damper.
- Parameters that can be disabled – can be controlled by CO2 only or any combination.
- Modbus RTU – all measurements and settings are accessible remotely.
- Firmware update – over the Modbus RTU network.
- LED indication – red – value out of range or sensor fault, yellow – danger zone, green – normal; the CO2 level is shown by default.
- Configuration – Configuration and monitoring – the free Sentera 3SModbus software (via the CNVT-USB-RS485 converter) or the Sensistant Modbus configurator.
Where is it used?
- Offices, meeting rooms, classrooms
- Kindergartens, schools, auditoriums
- Residential rooms and apartments
- Restaurants, gyms
- Demand-controlled ventilation with EC fans
- BMS and SenteraWeb systems
On-demand operation
For the apartment and house electrician.
The CO2 sensor-controller is powered directly from 230 V in a flush-mounted box, so no 24 V power supply is needed. For school and kindergarten renovation designers.
In a classroom, ventilation automatically intensifies as CO2 rises, and in an empty room it runs at the minimum. For restaurant and gym owners.
The fans run according to the actual number of people, so heating and electricity consumption fall.Practical application
If in a classroom only 230 V is available at the flush-mounted box and the ventilation EC fan has a 0-10 VDC input, then the FCMF8-R is connected directly to the mains and, as CO2 rises within the set 400–2000 ppm range, proportionally increases the fan speed.Application guide: how it is used in practice
The same FCMF8-R adapts to different sites – only what is connected to its outputs changes:
Site What is connected Result Installer's note Classroom, conference room AO1 0-10 VDC → EC fan control input The fan speeds up as CO2 rises; in an empty room – minimum T and rH can be disabled – control by CO2 only Room with a VAV / air damper AO1 → damper actuator 0-10 VDC input The damper opens in proportion to air quality Actuator input resistance ≥ 50 kΩ AC fan AO1 → analog input of an electronic or transformer controller AC fan speed according to CO2 Check the speed controller's input signal type Building with BMS Modbus RTU → A, /B Measurements and settings centralised A separate address for each device Apartment or office without 24 V supply L, N ← 230 VAC mains No separate power supply needed To be connected by a qualified electrician with the power disconnected How to choose a CO2 transmitter

Choose the supply according to the site's control circuit: -F – 24 VDC, 4-wire; -G – 24 VAC or 24 VDC, 3-wire; 8 – directly from the 230 V mains.When to choose another solution: for wall mounting – RCMF-3 series; for separate signals – RSMF-3 series; without CO2 – FCTH series; for a duct – DCMFG-2R.Pros
- CO2, temperature and humidity in one device
- Modbus RTU, firmware updated over the network
- Integrated control algorithm – no separate controller needed
- Power directly from the 230 V mains
- Flush-mounted or surface-mounted installation
Cons / limitations
- One control output – for separate signals choose a transmitter
- CO2 measuring range 400–2000 ppm – intended for indoor air quality, not for industrial gas monitoring
- IP30 – dry rooms only
Safety and installation notes
- Installation and connection are to be carried out by a qualified electrician / automation specialist with the power disconnected.
- Supply voltage – 85–264 VAC, 50–60 Hz.
- Hazardous mains voltage is present on terminals L, N – connect only with the power disconnected.
- Resetting the Modbus communication parameters – with a jumper on PROG pins 1 and 2 for at least 5 s.
- For indoor use only; do not install in direct sunlight.
