Switch-mode power supply | 24VDC | 40W | 1.67A | 85-264VAC | RJ45 Power over Modbus | IP65 | surface-mounted | Sentera Controls | SEPS8-24-40
The SEPS8-24-40 is a Sentera Controls switch-mode power supply that converts the 85–264 VAC mains voltage to a stable 24 VDC, up to 40 W (Imax 1.67 A). The IP65 housing is wall-mounted, and the output is terminals or a Power over Modbus RJ45 socket for connection.
Key idea:
Sentera sensors, controllers and control panels must be powered at 24 VDC. This power supply is designed for exactly that: through the RJ45 socket a single cable can carry power, making installation faster and neater.Output

Terminals + RJ45Protection
IP65, surface-mountedOperating principle
The power supply is mounted on a wall or other vertical surface. Mains voltage 85–264 VAC, 50–60 Hz is connected to terminals L and N. The output is a terminal block (+24 V, GND) and a Power over Modbus RJ45 socket (24 VDC and GND). The terminals and RJ45 are connected in parallel – the total load is the sum of the loads of both connections and must not exceed 40 W. A green LED indicates that output voltage is present.
The switching converter produces a stable 24 VDC voltage. Compared with linear sources, such a supply is more efficient, runs cooler, and is lighter and more compact. Overvoltage and overload protection operates in "hiccup" mode: during an overload the supply briefly switches off and tries to restart, and once the fault is removed, operation resumes automatically.
Result – Sentera sensors, controllers and control panels receive a stable 24 VDC voltage from a single supply, and after an overload operation recovers without human intervention. Engineer's note: when calculating the load, add up the maximum power of all connected devices and leave a margin.
Benefits SEPS8-24-40?
A single 24 VDC / 40 W power supply for a group of several Sentera sensors or controllers, with an RJ45 Power over Modbus connector and automatic overload protection.Technical specifications

Main functions
- 24 VDC / 40 W – powers several Sentera sensors, controllers or control panels.
- Wide input range 85–264 VAC – suitable for an unstable network and various countries.
- RJ45 Power over Modbus – power over a single cable.
- Hiccup protection – in case of overload or short circuit it switches off and recovers automatically.
- LED indication – you can see at a glance whether there is voltage at the output.
Where is it used?
- Damp rooms, warehouses, vegetable stores
- Technical rooms without a control panel
- Powering Sentera sensors and controllers next to the devices
- Power over Modbus connection with an RJ45 cable
- 24 VDC power supply for type F pressure controllers (HPSPF, DPSPF, HPSAF, DPSAF, SPS2F)
- Powering a group of pressure or CO₂ sensors with up to 40 W total power
On-demand operation
For farm building ventilation installers.
The IP65 wall-mounted housing allows a 24 VDC supply to be installed in a humid room or warehouse without a separate panel. For storage microclimate integrators.
Transmitters and controllers are powered next to the equipment via terminals or an RJ45 socket, with the total load not exceeding 40 W.For service technicians.
Hiccup protection resets automatically after an overload, and the green LED immediately shows whether 24 VDC is present at the output.Practical application
If several HPS-2 pressure transmitters and an F type pressure controller have to be powered on a warehouse wall, then the SEPS8-24-40 in an IP65 housing provides 24 VDC from the 85–264 VAC mains, and the total power of the connected devices must remain within 40 W (1.67 A).Application guide: how it is used in practice
The SEPS8-24-40 is used in different systems – only the connected devices and the connection method change:
Site What is connected Result Installer's note Damp room, warehouse Wall mounting, L / N from the mains 24 VDC next to the sensors without a separate control panel Route the RJ45 cable through the gland – this maintains IP65 Group of pressure or CO₂ transmitters Transmitters (e.g. HPS-2, DPS-2) → terminals +24 V / GND All sensors are powered from a single power supply Add up the transmitter power – up to 40 W Modbus network with RJ45 Sentera device with RJ45 → RJ45 socket Power over a single cable Terminals and RJ45 are connected in parallel – the load is shared Pressure controller with an EC fan HPSPF / DPSPF controller → +24 V, GND The controller receives a stable 24 VDC Connect F-type controllers with 4 wires How to choose a power supply
Installation location Recommended model Panel, DIN rail (IP30) DRPS8-24-40 (24 VDC, 40 W, DIN) On a wall, damp environment (IP65) SEPS8-24-40 (24 VDC, 40 W, IP65) ← this model Rule: the sum of the maximum power of all connected devices must not exceed 40 W (1.67 A at 24 VDC); terminal and RJ45 output loads are added together. Choose the installation location according to the environment: in a panel – DIN version, in a damp room – IP65 version. When to choose another solution: for mounting in a panel on a DIN rail – DRPS8-24-40.Pros
- 24 VDC, 40 W
- Wide input range 85–264 VAC
- RJ45 Power over Modbus
- Hiccup protection with automatic reset
- IP65 enclosure
Cons / limitations
- Power limited to 40 W – larger loads require several sources
- Output voltage is unregulated (24 VDC)
- Larger than the DIN version, surface mounting only
- Operating temperature up to +40 °C
Safety and installation notes
- Installation and connection are to be carried out by a qualified electrician with the mains voltage disconnected.
- The 85–264 VAC mains voltage is connected only to the L and N terminals.
- The total load of the terminal and RJ45 outputs must not exceed 40 W.
- Operating environment -30…+40 °C, 20–90 % rH non-condensing.
- To maintain IP65, route the RJ45 cable through the gland; do not use a pre-crimped cable that bypasses the gland.
Quick selection guide
