  • Temperature-based transformer fan motor speed controller | 5A | 230VAC | surface-mounted | IP54 | Sentera Controls | GTT-1-50L22

GTT-1-50L22 – Sentera Controls temperature-based transformer fan speed controller for single-phase 230 VAC motors (fans and pumps) up to 5 A. With an integrated 4 m PT500 capillary sensor, two Schuko sockets and a supply cable with plug – connected without terminal wiring.

    Key idea:
“Plug in and it works”: the fan or pump is plugged into the controller's socket, the sensor is placed in the controlled space, and the desired temperature is set with the potentiometer. In automatic mode the speed changes according to temperature; in manual mode a step is selected.
    What it is for GTT-1-50L22:
This model is designed for more powerful fans (up to 5 A) – roof or duct fans in warehouses, workshops, halls or a group of fans.

    Operating principle

The controller is fixed to the wall via the integrated mounting plate and supplied via a 1.5 m cable with a Euro plug (230 VAC / 16 A). The load is connected to two parallel Schuko IP54 sockets (250 VAC / 16 A), and the PT500 capillary sensor (4 m) is routed into the controlled space.

The heart of the controller is an autotransformer with several taps (steps). Each step supplies the motor with a different fixed voltage, while the output voltage remains SINUSOIDAL, as in the mains. As a result, the motor runs quietly even at low speed – the transformer speed controller is also suitable for motors that hum or heat up with an electronic (semiconductor) controller.

The 7-position selector switch selects: 0 – off, manual steps (output voltages in sequence 0-(80)-110-140-170-190-230 VAC; the 80 VAC tap is not connected at the factory) or A – automatic mode. In automatic mode the controller changes the motor voltage in steps according to the sensor temperature: setpoint 15–35 °C via potentiometer, proportional band 5 °C, hysteresis 0.5 °C.

Control is in steps, not stepless: the speed changes in jumps between fixed voltages. Engineer's note: the speed at each step depends on the motor and fan characteristics, so after commissioning it is worth checking that the motor reliably starts at the lowest step used.

    Benefits GTT-1-50L22?
A ready-to-use temperature-based ventilation controller: sensor, plug and sockets are already fitted, and the sinusoidal voltage ensures quiet motor operation.

    Manufacturer documentation

    ✔ Recommended by Elektrotechnikos sprendimai

Original manufacturer documentation – technical data, wiring diagrams and installation instructions.

    Main functions

    • Automatic mode according to temperature – the speed changes in steps according to the PT500 sensor measurement.
    • Manual mode – a fixed step is selected with the selector switch; there is an off position.
    • Integrated 4 m capillary sensor – no separate sensor needs to be purchased or connected.
    • Plug and Schuko sockets – connection without terminal wiring – two parallel sockets for the load.
    • Sinusoidal output voltage – quiet motor operation even at low speed.

    Where is it used?

    • Greenhouses
    • Farm buildings, livestock housing
    • Residential houses, technical rooms
    • Temperature-based control of fans and pumps with single-phase 230 VAC motors

    On-demand operation

For the farmer and greenhouse owner.
Ventilation adapts to the temperature by itself – just plug it in and set the temperature.
    For the electrician.
Factory-fitted cable with plug, Schuko sockets and integrated sensor – minimal installation.
    For the ventilation installer.
Automatic and manual mode in one device, sinusoidal voltage – quiet operation.

Application guide: how it is used in practice

    Typical GTT-1-50L22 applications:

Site What is connected Result Installer's note
Greenhouse Fan → Schuko socket; sensor – in the plant zone As the temperature rises, the fan runs faster Protect the sensor from direct sunlight
Livestock room 1–2 fans → both sockets Automatic temperature-based ventilation The total current must not exceed 5 A
Plant room Extract fan → socket Heat is removed from the equipment Operating environment – up to +35 °C
Testing / commissioning Selector switch – manual step Fan operation is checked at each step After the check, return to position A

How to select the controller current

Rated current of the motor(s) Recommended model
    up to 3.5 A GTT-1-35L22 (3.5 A)
    3.5–5 A GTT-1-50L22 (5 A) ← this model
    5–7.5 A GTT-1-75L22 (7.5 A)
    7.5–12 A GTT-1120L22 (12 A)
Rule: controller max. current ≥ rated current of the motor (or the sum of several motors) from the motor nameplate. For a transformer controller the motor starting current is already taken into account by the manufacturer, so no additional margin is needed. Connect several fans only with AC motors of the same type that are voltage-controllable.
When to choose another solution: an electric heater also needs to be controlled – GTTE1 series; a water heater valve and Modbus – GTH21 series; time-based control – ST2R1 series; stepless 0-10 VDC control – electronic EVS-1 series.

    Pros

    • Integrated 4 m PT500 capillary sensor
    • Plug and 2 Schuko sockets – quick connection
    • Automatic and manual mode
    • Sinusoidal output voltage – quiet motor operation
    • Suitable for fans and pumps
    • IP54 enclosure

    Cons / limitations

    • Step, not stepless control
    • Heavy weight (5.60 kg)
    • Temperature setpoint only 15–35 °C
    • Operating environment 0…+35 °C, indoor use only
    • No 0-10 VDC input, Modbus or TK terminals
    • Single-phase voltage-controllable AC motors only; not suitable for EC fans

    Safety and installation notes

    • Installation and connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician with the power disconnected.
    • Always connect the protective earth (PE).
    • The total rated current of the connected motors must not exceed 5 A.
    • Replace the fuse only with one of the same type and rated current as specified in the datasheet.
