Wrist-worn voltage proximity alarm | non-contact | 0.4–500 kV AC | audible and visual alarm | CR1632 | IP54 | KGT1860 | ES-KGT1860
KGT1860 is a wrist-worn non-contact voltage proximity alarm. It continuously senses the electric field of AC voltage and warns the electrician with sound and light when getting too close to live parts in 0.4–500 kV installations and lines.
⚡ For everyone working near high voltage
A personal proximity alarm is the last line of defence when a person makes a mistake, not the equipment. It belongs in the personal kit of every electrician, fitter and crew member – just like a helmet or dielectric gloves. For companies: wholesale price from 5 and from 20 pcs – equip the whole crew.⚠ Danger: high voltage does not forgive mistakes
Most accidents happen not because of lack of knowledge, but because of a moment of inattention – a hand or tool gets close to a part that was supposed to be disconnected. The wrist alarm acts as a "second look": it requires nothing from the worker, but warns when the risk is already real.Voltage range

The device is worn on the wrist or sleeve, so it is closest to the part that approaches live parts first – the hand. No mode selection is needed: it operates in automatic trigger mode. Power supply – a replaceable CR1632 (3 V) coin cell: up to 12 months on standby, and you can replace the battery yourself with the included tool.
A non-contact inductive sensor detects the 50/60 Hz AC electric field. When the field strength reaches the threshold corresponding to the safe distance for that voltage class, the audible and visual alarm is activated. Alarm distance error stated by the supplier: ±10 cm under reference conditions.
The result: the worker is warned before touching the part, even when their attention is on another task, tool or documentation.
Why choose KGT1860?
It covers a wide 0.4–500 kV range – from 0.4 kV lines to MV switchgear and HV overhead lines, weighs only 80 g and does not get in the way – so it is actually worn the whole shift instead of being left in the van.Technical specifications
Product type Wrist-worn voltage proximity alarm (non-contact) Model / code KGT1860 / ES-KGT1860 Voltage range 0.4–500 kV AC (marked on the housing) Low-voltage variant a separate low-voltage alarm (40 V–1 kV AC) for 230/400 V installations Operating frequency 50 / 60 Hz Operating principle Non-contact, inductive (electric field sensing) Detection mode Automatic trigger Alarm Audible and visual Alarm distance error ±10 cm (reference conditions) Battery CR1632, 3 V lithium coin cell, replaceable (~140 mAh) Standby time up to 12 months (supplier data) Continuous alarm duration up to 24 h Self-test TEST button Included battery replacement tool Protection class IP54 Operating temperature -10…+40 °C, relative humidity < 80 % Dimensions 90 × 40 × 35 mm Weight 0.08 kg Country of origin China Key features
- Non-contact sensing – warns before contact, not after
- Wide 0.4–500 kV range – one device for 0.4 kV lines, 6–35 kV switchgear and HV overhead lines
- Sound and light together – the alarm is noticed in noisy environments and when wearing hearing protection
- Automatic trigger – nothing to switch before work
- Worn on the wrist – the sensor is where the risk is highest – at the hand
- IP54 housing – suitable for outdoor work with dust and splashes
Where is it used?
- In 6–35 kV transformer substations and switchgear
- Near 0.4 kV overhead and cable lines
- In 0.4 kV distribution cabinets and on the LV side of substations
- In industrial plant electrical systems
- On construction sites near overhead lines
- During street lighting repairs
- In emergency crews after storms, when looking for live broken wires
- For crane and lift operators working near lines
Use by need
For grid maintenance crews.
Personal warning for every crew member working near HV equipment. For switchgear operation.
For duty and operating staff – a warning when working near energised cubicles and busbars. For health and safety managers.
An affordable, simple tool that is easy to roll out to all staff as additional PPE.Practical use
If the crew has isolated one 10 kV switchgear cubicle while the adjacent one remains live, an electrician who accidentally leans towards the adjacent cubicle will hear the alarm before reaching a dangerous distance – and stop.Pros
- Wide range: 0.4–500 kV AC
- Non-contact – warns in advance
- Audible and visual alarm
- Light (80 g) and compact
- IP54 for outdoor work
- Automatic operation with no settings
Cons / limitations
- Not a voltage detector according to IEC 61243 – not suitable for verifying absence of voltage
- Responds only to 50/60 Hz AC voltage, does not detect DC (PV)
- Does not detect an energised screened MV cable (XLPE with earthed screen) – the screen contains the electric field
- For 230/400 V installation work choose a low-voltage proximity alarm (40 V–1 kV)
- Operating temperature from -10 °C – wear under the sleeve in winter
Safety and usage notes
- Before each shift press TEST and make sure the device works
- No alarm does not mean no voltage – verify absence of voltage only with a voltage detector
- Do not use instead of insulating equipment, earthing and isolation procedures
- Keep the specified safe distances to live parts regardless of the alarm
- Replace the CR1632 battery in time; a discharged device will not warn
Quick selection guide
0.4–500 kV AC50/60 HzCR1632IP5480 gSuitable when you need:- additional personal warning when working near live parts
- one device for 0.4–500 kV installations
- a tool workers will actually wear all day
Check before use:- that the device works (self-check at a known source)
- battery condition
- that the voltage is AC
Important reminder: the alarm does not replace a voltage detector, earthing, isolation or other safety measures – it only provides an additional warning.FAQ
Can it be used to verify that there is no voltage?
No, use a voltage detector according to IEC 61243 to verify absence of voltage. Is it suitable for cable jointers?
Only when working near exposed live parts (terminations, switchgear, overhead-to-cable transitions); it does not detect an energised screened MV cable, so identify the cable with a cable identifier and spiking tool.Which battery does it use?
A CR1632 3 V lithium coin cell, replaceable with the included tool; standby up to 12 months.Does it detect DC voltage (solar plants)?
No, the device responds only to 50/60 Hz AC voltage.Which voltage levels does it cover?
0.4–500 kV AC; for 230/400 V installations choose a low-voltage proximity alarm (40 V–1 kV).Where should it be worn?
On the wrist of your working hand or on the sleeve. Is it suitable for outdoor work?
Yes, the housing is IP54, operating temperature -10…+40 °C.Can I order larger quantities?
Yes, a wholesale price applies from 5 and from 20 pcs.Wrist-worn voltage proximity alarm | non-contact | 0.4–500 kV AC | audible and visual alarm | CR1632 | IP54 | KGT1860 | ES-KGT1860
