This model differs from the standard version by its explosion-proof construction and larger housing. This version is intended for processes requiring a higher level of safety. Before use, the certification documents of the specific model, permitted installation zones and all manufacturer operating conditions must be verified.

This switch does not measure material level in centimetres, metres or percentages. It operates as a point level sensor: the contact switches when the bulk material reaches the paddle. It can therefore be used for both high-level and low-level control.

The explosion-proof version has a larger housing than the standard model. The housing width is approximately 105mm and the height is approximately 150mm. This type of housing is intended for safer operation in process systems where additional safety requirements must be taken into account.

The 100mm-wide paddle must have sufficient space to rotate freely and must not touch the tank wall, pipes, supports or other internal structures. The installation location should be selected so that a strong direct flow of material does not fall directly onto the paddle.

The explosion-proof rotary paddle level switch can be used in production, storage and processing systems where it is necessary to detect whether bulk material has reached a specific point in a tank and where the process environment is subject to higher safety requirements. In a bulk-material process hopper subject to higher safety requirements, the explosion-proof rotary paddle level switch is installed at the maximum permitted filling level. As long as the material does not reach the paddle, the 230VAC synchronous motor rotates it at approximately 1 rpm. When the hopper fills, the bulk material stops the paddle, the SPDT contact switches, and the signal is transmitted to the controller, which stops material feeding or activates a full-tank alarm.

The main difference is the explosion-proof housing construction and the larger housing. The operating principle remains the same.
