    DRG5 is a decorative steel cover for a sectional cast iron radiator, size 5 sections. Outer dimensions 490×610×140 mm (W×H×D), colour white, front panel standard (non-perforated). The cover encloses the front and top of the radiator, hides an old unit and reduces the risk of direct contact with the hot surface.

    Key point:
    Replacing an old cast iron radiator is costly: the system has to be drained and the pipework altered. A cover solves the appearance and safety issue without plumbing work. The critical step is choosing the size: the section count in the name is the manufacturer's size designation, while fit depends on the actual radiator dimensions.

    How it works

    The cover is a bent steel sheet housing with front and top sections, finished with a polymer coating. It is placed in front of the radiator and fixed through Ø8 mm holes. Fasteners are not included, so choose screws and plugs to suit the wall material.

    The standard front panel with decorative openings lets air pass through: cooler air enters from below, warms up at the radiator and rises through the panel and the top. Convection is maintained, but the cover blocks part of the radiant heat – as any radiator screen does.

    The result is a neat, uniform radiator finish without changing the pipework. The product has no side panels: if the radiator ends are visible, side panels (610×140 mm) are purchased separately.

    If you are renovating a room and do not plan to replace the cast iron radiator, measure the radiator width including connections, its height and its projection from the wall to the front. If all dimensions are smaller than 490×610×140 mm and there is room for the thermostatic valve, the DRG5 cover will fit – it can be fixed without draining the system.
