    TEM 16 is an electromechanical room thermostat in a white housing with an adjustment range of +10…+30 °C. It senses room air temperature and switches the contact when the setpoint is reached. The contact is rated 16(2.5) A, 230 V AC. Suitable for living, office and auxiliary rooms where simple control without a display or menus is needed.

    ⚠ ⚠ 16(2.5) A means: resistive load (heaters, heating cables) up to 16 A, inductive load (motors, pumps, fans) only up to 2.5 A. Switch larger inductive loads via a contactor.

    Operating principle

    The thermostat's sensing element reacts to ambient air temperature. When the temperature reaches the setpoint, the mechanism switches the contact and heating turns off; when temperature drops, heating turns back on.

    The 16(2.5) A marking according to EN 60730-1 gives two limits: the first number is the permissible resistive load current, the value in brackets is the inductive load current.
