  • Industrial socket box | 1×16 A 5P 400 V + 2×230 V 16 A | wall-mounted | without protective devices | IP54 | Scame 686D.122

Scame 686D.122 – an E-BOX series wall-mounted socket box with one CEE 16 A 5P 400 V socket and two 230 V 16 A sockets. Designed as a fixed connection point in a garage, workshop or commercial premises where a three-phase and two household sockets are needed in one place.

    Key point:
A compact IP54 enclosure without protective devices – a simple solution when the line is already protected in the panel. The enclosure is UV-stable and halogen-free, so it also suits areas under a canopy exposed to sunlight.

    How it works

The box is fixed to a wall. The sockets are factory-wired; the electrician connects only the supply cable to the internal terminal block.

    The CEE 16 A 5P socket is for three-phase 400 V equipment, the two 230 V sockets for tools, lamps or chargers. Rated voltage – 250/400 V.

There are no MCBs, RCDs or space for modules inside – protect the line in the panel with an MCB up to 16 A and a 30 mA RCD. This protects all three sockets.

    Why choose Scame 686D.122?
When protection is already in the panel, there is no need to pay for a box with MCBs: E-BOX gives a three-phase and two household sockets in a small IP54 enclosure. Fewer components – faster installation.

    Key functions

    • CEE 16 A 5P 400 V socket – for three-phase equipment with a 5-pin plug.
    • Two 230 V 16 A sockets – for tools, lamps or chargers.
    • IP54 – protection against dust and splashing water with the covers closed.
    • UV-stable, halogen-free enclosure – also for light-exposed areas under a canopy.
    • Factory-wired sockets – only the supply cable is connected.
    • Wall mounting – a permanent connection point.

How does it differ from similar products?

    Scame 686D.322 (13940) Same E-BOX series with a CEE 32 A 5P socket – for more powerful equipment.
    SEZ ROSP 1631 D/S (577) 1×16 A 5P + 2×Schuko, IP54, with holder – for portable use.
    SEZ ROSPG 1631 D (2236) 1×16 A 5P + 2×230 V 16 A, IP67 – for wet areas and water jets.

    Where is it used?

    • Garages and car service workshops
    • Workshops and small production halls
    • Commercial and storage premises
    • Agricultural buildings
    • Technical rooms and boiler rooms
    • Areas under a canopy (IP54)

    Use by need

    For beginners.
The box is connected by an electrician. The CEE socket accepts only 16 A 5P plugs – a 4-pin plug needs a different socket or a plug change.
    For experienced installers.
The supply cable is connected to the internal terminal block; the distributor recommends a 5×2.5 mm² cable. Seal the cable entry to keep IP54.
    For energy engineers / designers.
No protective devices: in the panel – an MCB up to 16 A and a 30 mA RCD. The total load of the three sockets is limited by the line MCB.

    Practical use

In a car service workshop, a wall-mounted Scame 686D.122 supplies a three-phase compressor from the CEE 16 A socket and a lamp and tool charger from the 230 V sockets. The line is protected in the panel by a 16 A MCB and a 30 mA RCD; the total load does not exceed 16 A.

    Pros / advantages

    • CEE 16 A 5P and two 230 V sockets in one enclosure
    • IP54
    • UV-stable, halogen-free enclosure
    • Compact wall-mounted enclosure
    • Only the supply cable needs connecting

    Cons / limitations

    • No MCBs or RCDs and no space for modules – protection must be in the panel
    • No switch – for local isolation choose Pawbol R-BOX KOMPAKT 16 A (2220)
    • IP54 – not for water jets or wash-down; for such areas choose the IP67 model SEZ ROSPG 1631 D (2236)
    • For fixed wall mounting only

    Safety and installation notes

    • ⚡ Installation and connection by a qualified electrician only, with the supply disconnected.
    • ⚡ Protect the line with an MCB sized to the cable cross-section (max. 16 A) and a 30 mA RCD.
    • The total load of all sockets must not exceed the rated current of the supply line MCB.
    • The CEE 400 V socket needs a three-phase line – it cannot be used from a single-phase line.
    • On construction sites, supply the box only from a construction site distribution board (HD 60364-7-704).
    • The protective earth (PE) contact of the 230 V sockets must be connected.
    • IP54 applies only with the socket covers closed and the cable entry properly sealed.

    FAQ

Does the box contain a fuse or MCB?
No. The Scame E-BOX has no protective devices and no space for modules – protection is installed in the panel that supplies it.
    Which cable should be used?
A 5-core cable (3 phases, N, PE); the distributor recommends 5×2.5 mm². The final cross-section is chosen by the electrician according to length and installation method.
    Will a 32 A CEE plug fit?
    No. CEE 16 A and 32 A plugs differ in size. For 32 A equipment choose Scame 686D.322 (13940).
    Can it be installed outdoors?
IP54 protects against dust and splashes with the covers closed – suitable under a canopy. For water jets or flood-prone areas choose an IP67 model.
Can it be connected to a single-phase line?
The CEE 400 V socket needs a three-phase line, so it cannot be used from a single-phase supply. If you only need 230 V, choose a box with household sockets, e.g. Famatel 3064 (8578).
Can all sockets be used at the same time?
Yes, as long as the total load of all sockets does not exceed the rated current of the line MCB (max. 16 A).
