  • Industrial socket box | 4×16 A 5P 400 V | IP44 | SEZ ROS 1601

    SEZ ROS 1601 – SEZ socket box with 4×CEE 16 A 5P 400 V. Enclosure protection – IP44 (outlets IP54).

    Key point:
4 three-phase CEE outlets in one enclosure let you feed several machines with CEE 5P plugs from a single 5-core line. There are no MCBs or RCD in the box, so all protection must be in the supply board.

    How it works

Supply: a 5-core cable (L1, L2, L3, N, PE) is brought in and connected to a terminal strip rated for cable up to 5×4 mm². A cable with plug is not listed in the manufacturer data – the installer selects it.

Outlets: the CEE 16 A 5P outlets receive all three phases, N and PE (400 V).

Protection: the box is unprotected (no MCBs or RCD). An MCB (not above 16 A) and a 30 mA RCD are installed in the supply board; IP44 (outlets IP54) applies only with the outlet lids closed.

    Why choose SEZ ROS 1601?
One three-phase cable gives you 4 CEE 16 A 5P outlets without a separate board. All outlets are 16 A, which makes line protection simple to select.

    • IP44 enclosure – protection against splashing water
    • IK10 – impact resistance of the empty enclosure
    • Terminals up to 5×4 mm² – supply cable sized to the line
    • No modules – simple design, protection stays in the supply board

How does it differ from similar products?

    SEZ ROS 1601 D (590) 4×CEE 16 A 5P, IP44, with holder – three-phase loads only, portable.
    SEZ ROS 3203 D (2225) 2×16 A 5P + 2×32 A 5P, IP44 – when 32 A outlets are needed but 230 V is not.
    SEZ ROS 1605/S (575) 2×16 A 5P + 4×Schuko, IP44, no holder – more domestic outlets.
    SEZ BZS 1653 (583) 16 A 5P switched interlocked socket, IP44 – for smaller three-phase loads.

    Where is it used?

    • Garages and car service shops
    • Workshops and production areas
    • Farm buildings and barns
    • Temporary power for repairs and events
    • Construction work – fed from a site board
    • Indoor and covered areas

    Use by need

    Beginner.
The box comes fully fitted – it needs a suitable cable and connection to a protected board. It is not an extension lead with breakers: leave the connection to an electrician.
    Experienced installer.
Use a flexible rubber 5-core cable (e.g. H07RN-F) sized to the line, not larger than 5×4 mm²; check phase sequence at the CEE outlets and PE continuity.
    Power engineer / designer.
The box is an end point without internal protection: overload and short-circuit protection (not above 16 A) and a 30 mA RCD are designed into the supply board. For sites – HD 60364-7-704.

    Practical use

In a workshop the box is fed with a 5×2.5 mm² cable through a 16 A MCB and a 30 mA RCD: a three-phase compressor, saw and mixer are plugged in, without exceeding a total load of 16 A.

    Pros / advantages

    • 4 three-phase CEE outlets in one enclosure
    • All outlets 16 A – protection is simple to select
    • Simple design without modules
    • IP44 enclosure and IK10
    • Terminals for cable up to 5×4 mm²

    Cons / limitations

    • No MCBs or RCD – protection must be in the supply board
    • No switch – for local switching choose SEZ ROS 4/V-12 (16 A) or ROS 4/V-10 (32 A)
    • Total load of all outlets is limited by the line breaker (up to 16 A), as the outlets have no separate protection
    • No 230 V domestic outlets – choose SEZ ROS 1605/S or ROS 1603 D/S
    • IP44 – not for continuous rain or water jets; outdoors it needs cover

    Safety and installation notes

    • ⚡ Connection and testing must be done by a qualified electrician, with the supply switched off.
    • ⚡ There are no MCBs or RCD in the box: protect the supply line with an MCB sized to the cable, not above 16 A, and a 30 mA RCD. The total load of all outlets must not exceed the line breaker.
    • This box must not be used on a single-phase line – all outlets are CEE 400 V and need a three-phase 5-core supply.
    • Before first use check PE continuity and phase sequence at every CEE outlet.
    • On construction sites feed the box only from a site distribution board (HD 60364-7-704).
    • IP44 (outlets IP54) applies only with the outlet lids closed and the cable entry tightened.

    Quick selection guide

    4×CEE 16 A 5P 400 V
    No 230 V outlets
    IP44 (outlets IP54) / IK10
    No MCBs or RCD
    Suitable when you need:
    • Several three-phase outlets from one cable
    • A simple outlet point without modules
    • Work indoors or under cover
    Check before choosing:
    • Is there a ≤16 A MCB and a 30 mA RCD in the supply board
    • Is the cable 5-core and does it fit the cable entry (up to 5×4 mm²)
    • Do the loads have CEE 16 A 5P plugs
    • Is a total load of 16 A enough
Important reminder: The box does not replace a protective board: it has no MCBs or RCD. All protection must be in the supply board.

    FAQ

Does the box contain MCBs or an RCD?
No. The manufacturer lists it as an unprotected version, so an MCB (not above 16 A) and a 30 mA RCD must be in the supply board.
Which supply cable should I use?
A 5-core (L1, L2, L3, N, PE) flexible rubber cable, e.g. H07RN-F; the electrician selects the cross-section by protection and length. Terminals take cable up to 5×4 mm².
Can it be fed from a single-phase line?
No. All outlets are CEE 400 V 5P, so a three-phase 5-core supply is required.
How does the D version differ?
The D version has a holder for portable use; this version has no holder.
    Can I connect 230 V tools?
Not directly. This box has only CEE 16 A 5P 400 V outlets and no 230 V domestic outlets. For 230 V tools choose SEZ ROS 1605/S or ROS 1603 D/S.
Can it be used outdoors or on a construction site?
The IP44 enclosure is splash-proof, but it needs cover from rain. On sites – only when fed from a site board with an RCD (HD 60364-7-704).
