Stainless steel roof rotary deflector 500 mm
A roof rotary deflector is a turbine driven by wind and temperature difference that extracts warm, humid or polluted air from a building. No electricity needed, no motor.
Key point
The housing and vanes are made of stainless steel, and the head rotates on ball bearings. It is a solution for buildings where durability and an aggressive environment matter: livestock farms, warehouses, workshops. For the turbine to extract air, the building must have air inlet openings.
Diameter500 mmMaterialStainless steelBearingsballTypeNo electricity⚠ For ventilation only
The deflector is intended for ventilation ducts only – to extract humid and warm air. Do not install it on flues of stoves, fireplaces, sauna heaters or boilers: hot flue gases and acidic condensate will damage it, and there is a risk of fire and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.
How it works
- The turbine is installed over a roof opening or on a base at the highest point.
- Wind and rising warm air spin the head, which extracts air from the building.
- Outdoor air must enter through inlet openings low in the walls – otherwise extraction is weak.
Estimated air extraction – 500 mm
Wind speed 2 m/s 4 m/s 6 m/s Air extraction, m³/h 710 1410 2120 Indicative estimate, not manufacturer data: actual flow depends on duct length and resistance, temperature difference and air supply to the room. Without wind, the duct works by natural draught.

Responsibility for installation lies with the qualified specialist performing it. UAB „Elektrotechnikos sprendimai“ is not liable for installation or possible errors.☝ Elsprendimai.eu recommends:- Roof deflectors in other sizes: 500 mm, 800 mm.
- For ventilation ducts – stainless steel rotary deflectors D100–D680.
✓ Pros
- Works without electricity or a motor
- Stainless housing and vanes – suitable for aggressive environments
- Ball bearings – low friction, smooth rotation
- Quiet operation
→ Limitations
- Extraction depends on wind and temperature difference
- Without air inlet openings the effect is minimal
- The number and layout of turbines must be matched to the building volume
⚠ Installation and maintenance
- Install at the highest point of the roof; place several turbines evenly along the ridge.
- Provide air inlet openings low in the walls.
- Fix mechanically and seal the joint according to the roofing requirements.
- Once a year check that the head rotates freely.
- Roof work is work at height: use fall protection equipment.
FAQ
How many turbines does a building need?
It depends on the building volume, the required air change rate and wind conditions – send us the building data and we will help you assess it.
Does it work without wind?
Less effectively – extraction is maintained by rising warm air, but the greatest effect is achieved when the wind blows.
Why are inlet openings needed?
The turbine can only extract as much air as enters the building – without inlets it turns but draws air weakly.
Is it suitable for a flue?
No – the turbine is designed to extract room air.
In short
Stainless steel roof rotary deflector 500 mm – natural ventilation of large buildings without electricity. Combine with air inlet openings. Unsure about the size or roofing? Send us the duct diameter and roof type – we will help you choose.

Stainless steel - strong, resistant to corrosion, oxidation, and other factors.Galvanized steel and stainless steel are two different types of steel, with the main difference related to their corrosion protection methods and chemical properties. Here are the key differences:
Corrosion Protection:
Galvanized Steel: This is steel coated with a layer of zinc. Zinc acts as protection against rusting, as it oxidizes first and protects the steel. This is particularly useful when steel is used outdoors or in areas exposed to moisture.
Stainless Steel: Stainless steel naturally resists rust and corrosion because it is alloyed with chromium (at least 10.5%) and other metals (such as nickel), which create a protective oxide layer on the steel surface. This layer prevents water and air from directly affecting the steel surface, making it highly resistant to corrosion.
Chemical Properties:Galvanized Steel: The zinc layer protects the steel, but it is not as resistant to rust as stainless steel. If the zinc layer is damaged, the steel may start to rust.
Stainless Steel: Due to its composition (chromium, nickel), stainless steel is much more resistant to corrosion and oxidation. It does not react with acids or alkalis and remains rust-free for a long time, even under harsh environmental conditions.
Cost:Galvanized Steel: Typically less expensive than stainless steel because its manufacturing process is simpler and requires lower costs.
Stainless Steel: Due to its more complex manufacturing process and expensive additives (chromium, nickel), stainless steel is more expensive than galvanized steel.
Appearance:Galvanized Steel: Generally has a silvery-gray color with a visible zinc layer. It provides a protective coating but may be less aesthetically pleasing than stainless steel.
Stainless Steel: Often has a shiny surface and is more aesthetically appealing.
Temperature Resistance:Galvanized Steel: The zinc layer starts to melt at high temperatures (above 419°C), so galvanized steel is not suitable for very high-temperature environments.
Stainless Steel: Stainless steel performs well at high temperatures, making it suitable for use in high-temperature applications.
Summary:Galvanized Steel is cheaper and suitable for areas where high corrosion resistance is not required, and appearance is not a primary concern.
Stainless Steel is more expensive but has significantly better resistance to corrosion and high temperatures, as well as better aesthetic appearance. This product is marked with the CE label, which confirms that it complies with all applicable European Union directives and regulations.
