Key idea:
An operator cannot watch a screen at all times, and on the shop floor a siren without colour tells you nothing. A three-colour tower shows status from anywhere on the shop floor, and the buzzer "calls out" when a fault occurs. It is the cheapest way to reduce downtime – a fault is noticed within seconds, not minutes.Colours

IP53How it works
Each segment of the tower has its own LED module and its own control conductor. The controller (PLC, relay or machine control unit) applies 24 V DC to the required segment – green for "running", yellow for "attention", red for "fault / stop". The buzzer has its own conductor, so the sound can be activated only for critical events or together with the red segment.
Specially designed lenses diffuse the light through a 360° angle – the signal is equally visible from all sides, not just from the front. The LED source lasts up to 50,000 hours, so the tower needs no servicing and no bulb replacement. The base is round, the housing is made of ABS and aluminium; a foldable hinge allows the tower to be lowered flat when transporting machine tools or during storage.
What makes the ES-M4-50SB useful?
It is a complete signalling set in a single product: three colours, sound and mounting – no need to combine separate modules. The compact Ø50 mm housing suits small machine tools, laboratory equipment and automation cabinets, where a larger Ø70 tower would be too bulky. The 24 V DC supply matches the standard PLC and automation voltage.Technical specifications

- Three-colour signalling – standard RYG logic: fault / warning / running.
- 360° visibility – the lens design diffuses light in all directions.
- Integrated buzzer – sound backs up critical signals in noisy environments.
- Foldable design – protection against mechanical damage during transport.
- LED, 50,000 h – maintenance-free throughout the equipment's service life.
- 24 V DC – direct connection to PLC outputs or relays without extra power supply.
Where is it used?
- CNC machine tools and machining centres – cycle-end and fault indication
- Production and packaging lines – line status for operators and supervisors
- Conveyors and logistics systems – stoppage signalling
- Automation and control panels – PLC status display
- Test benches and laboratory equipment
- Robotic workstations – safety zone status
- Workshops and garages – process indication (e.g. compressor, presses)
- Server rooms and technical premises – emergency status signal
Use by need
For home use.
In a workshop or garage the tower shows when the equipment is running, when a cycle has finished and when a fault has occurred – no need to stand next to it. All that is needed is a 24 V DC power supply and simple switches or relays.For companies and production.
Identical towers on every machine tool let the supervisor immediately see which line is stopped. The buzzer reduces reaction time to faults, and the foldable design protects the tower when moving equipment.For automation engineers.
Connects directly to PLC transistor or relay outputs (24 V DC, total load 4 W). Each segment and the buzzer are controlled separately, so the PLC program can implement flashing or sound for specific faults only. Total current ≤0.17 A – suitable for standard 0.5 A transistor outputs. Before connecting, check the polarity of the common conductor (PNP/NPN compatibility). The Ø50 mm size fits where a Ø70 tower would not.Practical example
An ES-M4-50SB is installed on a packaging line, controlled by a PLC. Green stays on while the line is running; when the film runs out, the PLC switches on yellow and the operator prepares to change it; if a product jams – red and the buzzer activate, and the line stops. A supervisor at the other end of the shop floor sees which line has stopped and why, and downtime is cut from several minutes to seconds.
Pros
- All-in-one – three colours, buzzer and mounting.
- 360° visibility – no need to turn the tower towards the operator.
- Compact Ø50 mm – fits small machine tools and panels.
- Foldable – fewer breakages during transport.
- Economical – 4 W, maintenance-free LED.
- Standard voltage – 24 V DC, same as PLCs and sensors.
Cons / limitations
- 24 V DC only – 230 V AC systems need a power supply unit or a different model.
- IP53 – resistant to dust and splashes, but not suitable for outdoor conditions without a canopy or for wash-down areas.
- Cable length and core marking – check before designing the route; longer distances will require a junction box.
- 3 segments – a fourth colour (blue) requires a different model.
- Ø50 mm gives a smaller light area than Ø70 – large shop floors may need a bigger tower.
Safety and installation notes
- Connect only to 24 V DC – a higher voltage will damage the LED modules.
- Observe polarity according to the cable marking; connect the control conductors via PLC outputs or relays (≥0.2 A per channel).
- Mount on a flat surface via the round base; lock the hinge in the working position.
- Do not mount in locations where the tower could be struck by moving parts or cranes – or use the folding function.
- Use outdoors only under a canopy – IP53 does not protect against a direct jet of rain.
- Route cables through the cable entry in the base and protect them from mechanical damage.

IP53Suitable when you need:- to show machine tool or line status in three colours;
- an audible signal for faults in a noisy environment;
- a compact Ø50 mm tower for 24 V DC control.
Check before use:- whether you have a 24 V DC supply and control outputs;
- whether 3 colours are enough (or whether blue / white is needed);
- whether the environment meets IP53 (indoors, no direct water);
- whether the mounting location allows 360° visibility.
Important reminder:
A signal tower only indicates status – it does not stop the equipment and does not replace an emergency stop (E-STOP) circuit. Safety functions must be implemented separately in accordance with machinery safety requirements.FAQ
Can it be connected to 230 V?
No, 24 V DC only. For 230 V use a 230/24 V DC power supply unit.Can the buzzer be switched off?
Yes – the buzzer is controlled by a separate conductor; it can be left unconnected or activated only together with the red segment.Can the segments flash?
The standard mode is a steady light; flashing is most conveniently implemented in the PLC program by controlling the segment output.Is it suitable for outdoor use?
IP53 – only under a canopy, with no direct rain and no wash-down.What is the hinge for?
To fold the tower down when transporting machine tools or when it is not in use, so it does not get broken off.How much current does the tower draw?
No more than 0.17 A at 24 V (4 W) – considerably less per PLC output, so no additional relays are needed.Signal tower (stack light) with audible signal | LED
