  • Smart thermostatic radiator valve | M30x1.5mm | white | Zigbee 3.0 | SONOFF | TRVZB

SONOFF TRVZB is a Zigbee 3.0 thermostatic radiator head that replaces a standard mechanical head and lets you control the temperature of each room with an app, schedules and automations.

    Key idea:
Heating costs are cut not by a bigger boiler but by precise control: heat only where and when it is needed. TRVZB does this for each radiator individually. A Zigbee hub is required.
    Connection
    M30 × 1.5 mm + adapters
    Setting
    4 … 35 °C
    Power
    3 × AA (1.5 V)
    Connectivity
    Zigbee 3.0 (hub required)

    How it works

The head is fitted in place of the existing thermostatic head on an M30 × 1.5 mm valve; for valves of other brands the included adapters are used. No tools and no draining of the heating system are needed.

The built-in sensor measures the room temperature and the motor opens or closes the valve according to the setpoint. The temperature can be changed by hand on the head, in the eWeLink app or by a weekly schedule.

Via a Zigbee hub (SONOFF iHost, NSPanel Pro, ZBBridge-P / U, ZBDongle with Home Assistant) the head becomes part of scenes – e.g. the temperature is lowered when you leave, and an external SONOFF SNZB-02 sensor can be used as reference.

    Why choose TRVZB?
TRVZB combines comfort and savings: open window detection, anti-freeze and anti-scale protection, temperature history and adjustable valve opening percentage – all in one compact head.

    Main functions

    • Weekly schedules – different temperatures on weekdays, weekends and at night.
    • Open window detection – the valve closes when the temperature drops sharply.
    • Anti-freeze – below 5 °C the valve opens automatically.
    • Anti-scale – the valve is moved automatically every week.
    • External sensor – a SONOFF SNZB-02 series sensor can be used as reference.
    • Calibration and lock – temperature offset and child lock.

    Where is it used?

    • Flats and houses with radiator heating
    • Offices with different room usage times
    • Rental homes and apartments
    • Children's rooms and bedrooms
    • Rarely used rooms
    • Heating control with Home Assistant

    Use by need

    For homeowners.
Heat only where and when needed, lower bills.
    For office managers.
Working-hours schedule and reduced temperature after hours.
    For Home Assistant users.
Local control via ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT, without the cloud.

    Practical use

A house has four bedroom radiators, but the rooms are used only in the evening. TRVZB heads lower the temperature to 17 °C during the day and raise it to 21 °C at 6 pm. When a window is opened for airing, the valve closes automatically.

    Pros

    • Simple fitting without tools or draining
    • Open window, anti-freeze and anti-scale protection
    • External sensor and calibration options
    • Zigbee 3.0 – local control and Home Assistant
    • Temperature history in the app

    Cons / limitations

    • No remote control without a Zigbee hub
    • Not compatible with Philips Hue, IKEA and Fritz!Box hubs
    • Batteries need periodic replacement
    • 1.2 V NiMH rechargeables are not recommended

    Safety and installation notes

    • Before fitting, check the valve type and choose the right adapter.
    • Use 1.5 V AA alkaline batteries; do not mix new and old ones.
    • Do not fit the head behind curtains or furniture – the sensor will read inaccurately.
    • The head will not fix a faulty or stuck valve – it may need a plumber.
    • Heating system balancing and boiler control should be done by a specialist.

    Quick selection guide

    M30 × 1.5 mm
    Adapters included
    4–35 °C
    3 × AA
    Zigbee 3.0
    Window detection
    Suitable when you need:
    • to control each radiator's temperature separately
    • to match heating to schedules and presence
    • to reduce heating costs without rebuilding the system
    Check before use:
    • that you have a compatible Zigbee 3.0 hub
    • that the valve is M30 × 1.5 or an included adapter fits
    • that there is space for a 94 mm head next to the radiator
    • that the valve is not stuck
Important reminder: TRVZB only controls the radiator valve – boiler or heat substation control needs separate solutions, and without a Zigbee hub the head works in manual mode only.

    FAQ

    Will it fit my radiator?
The head has an M30 × 1.5 mm connection and the included adapters fit most common valves. Check the valve brand and type before buying.
    Is a hub required?
Yes. TRVZB is a Zigbee 3.0 device – it needs a SONOFF iHost, NSPanel Pro, ZBBridge-P / U or a Zigbee adapter with Home Assistant.
How long do the batteries last?
According to the manufacturer, typically more than 6 months with standard alkaline AA batteries – depending on usage.
What does the open window function do?
When it detects a sudden temperature drop, the head closes the valve so you do not heat an open window.
Can an external sensor be used?
Yes, in the eWeLink app a SONOFF SNZB-02, SNZB-02D or SNZB-02P sensor can be assigned as reference.
Does it work with Home Assistant?
Yes, via ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT with a compatible Zigbee adapter such as SONOFF ZBDongle-P or ZBDongle-E.
