    ELGAMA-ELEKTRONIKA GAMA 300 G3E.144-230.C110 is a Lithuanian-made three-phase electricity meter for direct connection in a 4-wire 3×230/400 V network, 5(100) A. It is a billing-grade meter in a standard panel housing, intended for single-tariff active energy metering.

    Key point:
The G3E version is the simplest GAMA 300 build: one tariff, LCD, an optical port for reading and an S0 pulse output. Accuracy class B to EN 50470-3 and the same 260 × 175 × 80 mm housing with three-point mounting as the meters used in utility metering cabinets. It suits applications that need a solid three-phase kWh meter without a tariff clock or a bus interface.

    Bidirectional metering
For the G3E build the manufacturer specifies active energy metering only and does not list separate import and export registers for this code. If energy imported from and exported to the grid must be seen separately, choose a GAMA 300 version with bidirectional active energy metering (F2 / F4 codes) or a model whose datasheet clearly lists import and export registers.

    Communication interfaces and integration

    Optical port IEC 62056-21
Reading of registers and parameters on site via an optical probe – used by utilities and metering inspectors.
    S0 pulse output
Galvanically isolated pulse output to IEC 62053-31 for active energy – pulses can be fed to a PLC, BMS or data logger. There is no RS485 or M-Bus in this version.

    Operating principle

The meter is fixed with three screws to the panel plate (fixing dimensions to DIN 43857) and connected directly to L1, L2, L3 and N – no current transformers are needed up to 100 A.

The three-element electronic measuring circuit counts active energy in all phases; the meter starts registering from 0.4 % of the reference current (20 mA).

The total kWh value is shown on the LCD and can be read via the optical port, while the S0 output sends pulses to an external system.

Why choose the GAMA 300 G3E.144-230.C110?
It provides billing-grade (class B to EN 50470-3) three-phase kWh metering with no extra settings and no tariff programming. The standard panel housing suits replacement of old electromechanical or electronic meters in metering cabinets.

How does it differ from similar models?

ELGAMA GAMA 300 G3A.144-230.F14 Also 100 A direct, but the G3A has an internal clock and 4 tariffs; the G3E.144 has 1 tariff and a simpler configuration.
ELGAMA GAMA 300 G3A.144-230.F34 Additionally measures reactive energy and has 4 tariffs; the G3E.144 measures active energy only.
ELGAMA GAMA 300 G3A.147-230.F11 Connected via current transformers (5(10) A) for large loads; the G3E.144 is direct up to 100 A.
Eastron SDM630-MT Modular DIN-rail meter with RS485 Modbus and 4 tariffs; the G3E.144 is a panel housing without a bus.

    Where is it used?

    • Metering cabinets of three-phase consumer supplies
    • Replacement of old electromechanical meters
    • Metering cabinets in apartment and commercial buildings
    • Metering of rented premises and sub-tenants
    • Agricultural and industrial buildings
    • Temporary metering boards on construction sites

    Use by need

    Electricians.
Standard panel housing and direct connection – quick replacement of old meters.
    Building managers.
Billing-grade kWh metering for sub-tenants without tariff programming.
    Companies.
Consumption control of individual three-phase lines, S0 pulses into an existing metering system.

    Practical application

If a tenant's three-phase line up to 100 A must be metered separately in a commercial building's metering cabinet, the G3E.144 is fixed in place of the old meter on the same plate, readings are taken from the LCD or via the optical port, and the S0 pulses can be fed to the building's data logger if needed.

    Pros

    • Class B to EN 50470-3, class 1 to IEC 62053-21
    • Direct connection 5(100) A
    • Optical port IEC 62056-21
    • S0 pulse output
    • Standard panel housing with three-point mounting
    • Manufacturer – ELGAMA-ELEKTRONIKA, Lithuania

    Cons / limitations

    • Single tariff only – for multi-tariff metering choose the G3A.144-230.F14
    • Does not measure reactive energy – the G3A.144-230.F34 does
    • No RS485 Modbus or M-Bus – for a bus choose e.g. the Eastron SDM630-MT
    • Not for DIN rail – requires a panel plate with three-point mounting
    • The manufacturer does not specify separate import / export metering for this code

    Safety and installation notes

    • Installation and wiring must be done by a qualified electrician with the circuit isolated and verified dead.
    • Install a protective device upstream, sized for the cable cross-section and load – the meter is not a protective device.
    • Wire according to the diagram on the terminal cover: swapped phase inputs and outputs distort the metering.
    • Tighten the power terminals firmly – a loose contact at 100 A heats up and damages the terminal block.
    • Do not break the manufacturer's seals – otherwise the readings lose their metrological validity.

    Quick selection guide

    5(100) A direct
    Class B
    1 tariff
    Optical + S0
    Suitable when you need:
    • three-phase kWh metering up to 100 A in a panel housing
    • a simple single-tariff meter
    • replacing old meters on an existing plate
    Check before use:
    • that the line current does not exceed 100 A
    • that the cabinet has a three-point mounting plate
    • that the meter label shows the MID marking and verification year you require
Important reminder: The meter only measures energy – it does not protect against overload or short circuit and cannot replace the utility's billing meter without the utility's consent.
