Cable 3x1.5 mm² | copper | solid | halogen-free | NHXMH-J 3x1.5 | 1 m | white
NHXMH-J is a halogen-free installation cable with solid copper conductors for fixed electrical installations in buildings. This 3-core 1.5 mm² version is intended for single-phase circuits (L, N, PE), most often lighting, control and lower-power circuits. When burning, the cable releases no halogens or corrosive gases and produces little smoke – which is why it is chosen wherever safe evacuation and equipment protection matter.
Key idea:
A standard PVC cable gives off thick black smoke and hydrogen chloride in a fire, which turns into hydrochloric acid on contact with moisture. The NHXMH-J sheath is made of a halogen-free LSOH compound: less smoke, escape routes stay visible longer, and electronics and building structures suffer less corrosion. It is installed just like NYM-J, only with a higher level of fire safety.Rated voltage

Each core is a solid annealed copper wire (class 1 to IEC 60228) insulated with a cross-linked polymer. The cores are laid up together and covered with a white halogen-free thermoplastic outer sheath.
The “-J” designation means the cable contains a green-yellow protective (PE) core. Core colours to HD 308 S2: brown (L), blue (N), green-yellow (PE).
The sheath contains no PVC, so no chlorine or other halogens are released when it burns. The cable’s CPR fire class is Cca-s1a,d1,a1: limited flame spread, low smoke production (s1a), short-lived flaming droplets (d1) and low-acidity combustion gases (a1).
Why choose NHXMH-J?
The first minutes of a fire are the most critical. Less smoke means better visibility on escape routes, and no halogens means less harm to people’s airways, server equipment and building structures.Technical specifications

Use by need
For electrical contractors.
When the design specifies halogen-free wiring or class Cca, NHXMH-J is installed with the same tools and terminals as NYM-J – no change in working method.For designers.
A halogen-free cable with a declared CPR class Cca-s1a,d1,a1 – easier to justify in the fire safety section of the design.For homeowners.
In children’s rooms, bedrooms and next to the boiler room, a halogen-free cable reduces the risk of smoke and toxic gases in a fire.Practical application
An NHXMH-J 3 × 1.5 mm² cable is run for a school corridor lighting circuit: brown core – phase L, blue – neutral N, green-yellow – PE. The cable is fixed in a cable tray above the suspended ceiling, and the circuit is protected by a circuit breaker as designed (usually B10 for lighting).Pros
- Halogen-free, low smoke
- CPR class Cca-s1a,d1,a1
- Solid Cu conductors – reliable terminal contact
- With green-yellow PE core
- Installed on and under plaster, in masonry and concrete
- Made in Lithuania
Cons / limitations
- More expensive than PVC cable NYM-J (KH05VV-U)
- Solid conductors – not suitable for moving or flexible connections
- Not fire-resistant (not E30/E90) – does not replace cables for fire safety systems
- Outdoors only when protected from direct sunlight
- Do not lay directly in the ground or in vibrated or tamped concrete
- Install at temperatures not below +5 °C
Safety and installation notes
- Installation and connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician with the power disconnected.
- The cable cross-section and protective device are selected by the designer based on load, installation method, circuit length and voltage drop (IEC 60364-5-52).
- Do not bend the cable to a radius smaller than 4 times its diameter – the core insulation may be damaged.
- In cold weather, keep the cable in a warm room before installation – lay it at temperatures not below +5 °C.
- The green-yellow core is used only as the protective PE conductor, the blue core only as neutral N.
- Outdoors and in sunny locations, protect the cable from direct sunlight with a conduit or trunking.
- Use halogen-free boxes, conduits and trunking for a halogen-free line too – PVC accessories reduce the fire safety benefit.
Quick selection guide
300/500 V3 × 1.5 mm²Cca-s1a,d1,a1LSOH, halogen-freeWhite sheathSuitable when you need:- a halogen-free cable in a public or higher fire-risk building;
- 3 cores – single-phase circuits (L, N, PE);
- 1.5 mm² – lighting, control and lower-power circuits.
Check before buying:- that the design does not require a class higher than Cca (e.g. B2ca);
- that 1.5 mm² is sufficient for the load and circuit length;
- that the circuit does not need a fire-resistant cable (fire alarm, emergency lighting, smoke extraction);
- that boxes, conduits and trunking are also halogen-free.

How does NHXMH-J differ from NYM-J (KH05VV-U)?
Design and installation are similar, but the NYM-J sheath is PVC, while NHXMH-J uses a halogen-free LSOH compound. In a fire, NHXMH-J produces less smoke and releases no corrosive halogen gases.Is NHXMH-J a fire-resistant cable?
No. A halogen-free cable limits flame spread and smoke but does not maintain circuit integrity in a fire. Fire safety systems require fire-resistant cables with a circuit integrity class (e.g. E30, E90).What does Cca-s1a,d1,a1 mean?
It is the CPR fire class (EN 13501-6): Cca – flame spread and heat release class, s1a – lowest smoke production, d1 – flaming droplets or particles persist no longer than 10 s, a1 – low-acidity combustion gases.Can it be laid in concrete and outdoors?
It can be laid in plaster, masonry and concrete, except vibrated or tamped concrete. Outdoors – only when protected from direct sunlight, e.g. in a conduit or trunking. It must not be buried directly in the ground.Which circuit breaker should be used with a 1.5 mm² cable?
For 1.5 mm² circuits, a B10 circuit breaker is most commonly used (lighting), and B16 for some installation methods. The final decision is made by the designer. For long circuits, the voltage drop must be checked.How is the cable sold?
The price is per 1 m, minimum order quantity 10 m. For larger quantities (coils, drums) we will prepare an individual offer.Halogen-free cable NHXMH-J 3 × 1.5 mm²

while multi-core wires are flexible wires.Wires usually have a single conductor covered with an insulating layer.
Cables have several insulated wires, covered with a common sheath.
Conductor properties of wires:
The resistance of copper conductors is lower (0.017Ω) than that of aluminum (0.028Ω),
but copper has better conductivity.
Copper has better electrical and thermal conductivity than aluminum.
Copper wires are more flexible, more resistant to corrosion, and more durable.
Aluminum wires quickly oxidize upon contact with air, forming a film that weakens the contact.
Copper wires carry higher currents than aluminum wires.
Copper conductors are denser than aluminum. Therefore, copper wire is heavier.The cross-sectional area of wires is chosen according to the power of specific equipment,
for example: for a 1kW load, a 1.57 mm² cross-sectional area of the conductor is required.
For aluminum wires: 5A per 1mm², and for copper wires: 8A per 1mm².Fire-Resistant and Non-Flammable Cables
Description: Standard PVC (polyvinyl chloride) cables release toxic gases and a thick black smoke screen during a fire, which complicates the work of firefighters when searching through buildings. Burning PVC emits highly acidic hydrogen chloride gases (HCl), which, when mixed with water, turn into hydrochloric acid. Inhaling these gases can severely irritate the respiratory system, and contact with eyes or skin can cause serious burns. Additionally, HCl can irreparably damage electrical equipment.Halogen-free cables are an alternative that do not release halogens (chlorine) and provide greater safety since these cables do not produce corrosive smoke.
Non-flammable cables are designed to prevent flames from spreading along the cable's surface during a fire. These cables ensure the continued operation of fire safety systems, such as lighting, smoke removal, fire sprinklers, etc., for a certain period during a fire.
Fire Resistance Classification: Fire resistance of cables is categorized into seven safety classes from A to F:
A – Non-flammable product.
F – No reaction to fire specified.
Most cables fall into categories B, C, D, and E.Additional Safety Criteria for Cables:
Smoke Emission (s1, s2, s3) – Lower values indicate less smoke.
Flaming Droplets (d1, d2, d3) – Lower values indicate no flaming droplets are produced.
Smoke Acidity and Electrolytic Conductivity (a1, a2, a3) – Lower values mean less hazardous smoke.
Cable Marking:D – Fire resistance class
ca – Cables/wires
s – Smoke emission
d – Flaming droplets
a – Smoke acidity and conductivity
