ESF24-6SHS-6 wireless crane remote – 4 directions, 12–24 V AC/DC
ESF24-6SHS-6 is a radio control set (transmitter + receiver) for hoists and cranes with two motions: hoist and trolley or bridge travel. The transmitter sends the command over a radio link, receiver relays energise contactor coils, and the contactors switch the motors.
Key point:
Many hoists and small cranes run their control circuit at low voltage from a transformer, e.g. 24 V AC. This receiver is supplied with 12–24 V AC/DC, so it connects straight into such a circuit without an extra power supply.Buttons

IP65How it works
The receiver is mounted on the hoist or crane next to the contactors and supplied with the control circuit voltage (12–24 V AC/DC) – the contactor coils must have the same voltage. UP/DOWN and WEST/EAST outputs are wired into the hoist and trolley (or bridge) contactor coil circuits through the limit switches, and STOP into the main contactor (KM0) circuit.
START switches on the main contactor, STOP drops it out and cuts all motions. Direction buttons work only while held. Opposite-direction contactors are NC-interlocked, and if the radio link is lost the receiver must de-energise its outputs and the crane must stop.
The operator controls lifting and horizontal travel with one transmitter, standing where the load is best visible.
Why choose ESF24-6SHS-6?
It is a remote for a two-motion mechanism with low-voltage control: no need to change contactors or add a transformer. Receiver relay contacts are rated 5 A for the control circuit.Technical specifications
Product type Wireless crane remote control (transmitter + receiver) Model ESF24-6SHS-6 Set contents 1 transmitter + 1 receiver Buttons UP, DOWN, WEST, EAST + START, STOP Speeds 1 Receiver supply 12–24 V AC/DC Receiver relay contacts 5 A (control circuit) Protection rating IP65 Main functions
- UP / DOWN – lifting and lowering
- WEST / EAST – trolley or bridge travel
- START and STOP – switch the main contactor on and off
- 12–24 V AC/DC receiver – connects to a low-voltage control circuit
- IP65 – protection against dust and water jets
How does it differ from similar models?
- ES-ML-K6 – 6 direction buttons (3 motions), 868 MHz, IP68
- ES-F21-E1-TX – 6 direction buttons, universal 24–440 V AC/DC receiver, up to 100 m
- ES-21-4S – 4 buttons, 10 A receiver relays
Where is it used?
- Hoists with a motorised trolley
- Suspended and small overhead cranes with two motions
- Lifting equipment with a 24 V AC control transformer
- Mobile machinery with 12 V or 24 V DC control
- Replacing a 4-direction pendant with a radio remote
Use by need
For the electrician
The receiver connects to the existing 12–24 V control circuit – no need to change contactor coils. For a manufacturing plant
One operator controls hoist and trolley from a safe distance, with no pendant cable. For a construction site / warehouse yard
IP65 protection suits dusty areas and work under a canopy.Practical use
If the control circuit of a hoist with a motorised trolley is fed with 24 V AC from a transformer, the ESF24-6SHS-6 receiver is connected to the same transformer, UP/DOWN and WEST/EAST outputs to the existing contactor coils through the limit switches, and STOP to the main contactor circuit. After commissioning, check that STOP and loss of signal stop all motions.Pros
- Suits low-voltage 12–24 V AC/DC control circuits
- Two motions in one transmitter
- Simple wiring – 4 directions, START and STOP
- IP65 protection
Cons / limitations
- Two motions only – for three motions choose ES-ML-K6 or ES-F21-E1-TX
- Single speed – for a 2-speed crane choose ES-24-8D
- Radio frequency and range are not specified – if a confirmed range is needed, choose ES-F21-E1-TX (up to 100 m)
- Not for 230 V AC coils – use ES-F21-E1-TX (24–440 V AC/DC)
Safety and installation notes
- Receiver relays (5 A) switch contactor coils only – never connect motors directly
- Wire the STOP output into the main contactor (KM0) circuit; on loss of signal the crane must stop (EN 60204-32)
- Limit switches (SQ) and the NC interlock between opposite directions stay in the circuit
- Before installation or repair, open the main isolator and apply LOTO
- After installation, check that directions match the buttons and that STOP stops all motions
Quick selection guide
4 buttons + START/STOP1 speed12–24 V AC/DCIP65Check before ordering:
- Contactor coil voltage is 12–24 V AC/DC and matches the receiver supply
- Radio frequency (shown on the receiver label) – check whether the frequency is permitted in your country
- Two motions (4 directions) and one speed are enough
FAQ
How many buttons does ESF24-6SHS-6 have?
Six in total: four direction buttons (UP, DOWN, WEST, EAST) plus START and STOP.What is the receiver supply voltage?
12–24 V AC/DC. The contactor coils must run on the same voltage. Can 230 V AC contactors be connected?
No. For 230 V AC or other higher control voltages choose ES-F21-E1-TX with a 24–440 V AC/DC receiver.What does 5 A mean?
It is the receiver relay contact rating for the control circuit – for contactor coils, not the motor. What is the operating range?
It is not specified. If a confirmed range is needed, choose ES-F21-E1-TX (up to 100 m in open space). What happens if the radio link is lost?
The receiver must de-energise its outputs and the crane must stop. This must be checked during commissioning.ESF24-6SHS-6 in brief
A 4-direction + START/STOP radio remote for two-motion hoists and cranes with low-voltage 12–24 V AC/DC control, IP65. Wired via contactors, 5 A relays.
