External light sensor for twilight switches | IP54 | Finder 011.02
Finder 011.02 is the original external light sensor for Finder 11 series twilight switches 11.31, 11.41, 11.42 and 11.91. It is not a relay but its “eye”: the sensor is mounted outdoors on a wall with a metal bracket and connected by cable to the relay in the panel. The sensor is supplied with new relays and is bought separately when the old one is damaged, lost or has to be moved.
Key point:
When the twilight switch in the panel works but the sensor outside is cracked, flooded or torn off, there is no need to replace the relay. The original Finder 011.02 sensor is enough – the relay gets a correct light signal again and the set threshold stays the same.Compatibility

The sensor measures ambient illuminance and sends the signal to the twilight switch. All logic – switching threshold, delay, modes and timer (11.91) – is in the relay, so you still set the threshold with the relay knob or menu.
The sensor is connected with two wires to the relay sensor terminals. It is non-polarised – wire order does not matter – and double insulated with respect to the relay supply.
The sensor matches only the current Finder relay versions 11.31, 11.41, 11.42 and 11.91. It is not compatible with the old Finder relays 11.01 and 11.71.
When do you need a separate sensor?
A new Finder twilight switch already has the 011.02 sensor in the package. You need it separately when the original sensor is mechanically damaged, was lost during facade renovation, when you have a relay without a sensor or want a spare for site maintenance.Technical specifications

- Original Finder sensor – the relay works with the same characteristic as from the factory.
- Fits 4 relay types – 11.31, 11.41, 11.42 and 11.91.
- IP54 housing – mounted outdoors on a building wall.
- Metal bracket – solid fixing to the facade.
- Non-polarised connection – two wires, impossible to mix up.
- Up to 50 m from the panel – the sensor can be placed where it sees natural light.
How does it differ from similar models?
- Finder 11.91 – This is the relay the sensor is used with: 2–150 lx, 16 A, with a digital timer. A new 11.91 already comes with the 011.02 sensor in the package.
- VEXEN TWR1 – VEXEN relay with its own external sensor. VEXEN and Finder sensors are not interchangeable – Finder 011.02 is only for the Finder 11 series.
- Eti SOU-1 – The Eti relay is supplied with its own sensor. Finder 011.02 does not fit it, and the Eti sensor does not fit Finder relays.
- F&F AZ 112 – F&F relay with a remote sensor, 2–1000 lx. Its sensor and Finder 011.02 are not interchangeable – each manufacturer calibrates the relay to its own sensor.
Where is it used?
- Replacing a damaged or lost Finder sensor
- Street, yard and car park lighting control with Finder 11 series relays
- Facade and signage lighting
- Relocating the sensor during building or facade renovation
- Spare part for maintained sites
- Completing a Finder relay bought without a sensor
Use by need
For the electrician.
On a service call there is no need to replace the relay and reprogram the timer – you only replace the damaged sensor outside.For the home or farmstead owner.
Yard lighting works automatically again, and the cost is only the sensor, not the whole relay.For the company or farm manager.
A spare sensor in stock cuts site lighting downtime to a few minutes.Practical use
If after facade insulation the yard lighting stays on around the clock and the panel has a Finder 11.91, the cause is usually a cut or covered sensor line. Fix the 011.02 sensor with the metal bracket on the north wall where the controlled luminaires do not reach it, and connect it to the relay sensor terminals with two wires. There is no need to change the timer program or the lx threshold in the relay.Pros
- Original manufacturer sensor for the Finder 11 series
- Fits 11.31, 11.41, 11.42 and 11.91
- IP54, operating temperature −40…+70 °C
- Non-polarised, double insulated
- Cable to the relay up to 50 m
- Metal bracket included
Cons / limitations
- Does not fit the old Finder relays 11.01 and 11.71
- Does not fit relays from other manufacturers (VEXEN, Eti, F&F)
- Installation cable is not included
⚠ Safety and installation notes
- Mount the sensor so that only natural daylight reaches it, not the controlled luminaires or car headlights.
- The cable length from relay to sensor must not exceed 50 m with 2 × 1.5 mm² conductors.
- Choose a cable diameter that the gland (Ø 7.5–9 mm) grips tightly – otherwise IP54 is not ensured.
- Route the sensor line separately from power cables so that interference does not distort the signal.
- Before replacing the sensor, disconnect the relay supply and verify the absence of voltage.
- Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
Quick selection guide
Finder 11.31 / 11.41 / 11.42 / 11.91IP54up to 50 m of cable−40…+70 °CSuitable when you need to:- replace a damaged or lost Finder relay sensor;
- complete a Finder 11 series relay without a sensor;
- keep a spare sensor for site maintenance.
Check before use:- the relay type on the housing – it must be 11.31, 11.41, 11.42 or 11.91;
- cable length and diameter (up to 50 m, gland Ø 7.5–9 mm);
- a location lit only by natural light.
Important reminder: 011.02 is only a sensor. Without a Finder 11 series relay it does not control lighting, and it does not fit relays from other manufacturers.☝ Elsprendimai.eu recommends:- Finder 11.91 – when you need a new relay with a timer; the 011.02 sensor is already included.
- Modular contactors – when the relay controls a large LED or floodlight group.
- Photo relays and twilight switches – all twilight switches in one place.
FAQ
Does the sensor fit my Finder relay?
Yes, if the relay type is 11.31, 11.41, 11.42 or 11.91. It does not fit the old 11.01 and 11.71 relays.Do I need to buy the sensor separately with a Finder 11.91?
No, a new relay comes with the 011.02 sensor in the package. You need it separately only for replacement or as a spare.Can it be used with VEXEN, Eti or F&F relays?
No. Each relay is calibrated to its own manufacturer’s sensor, so sensors are not interchangeable.What cable should I use and how far?
Up to 50 m with 2 × 1.5 mm² conductors. The outer cable diameter should be 7.5–9 mm to fit the gland.Does wire order matter?
No, the sensor is non-polarised.Does the relay need to be reset after replacement?
Threshold and timer settings stay in the relay. After installation check that the lighting switches on at the desired time and adjust the threshold if needed.External light sensor for twilight switches | IP54 | Finder 011.02
