Galvanised steel deflectors and bases
Galvanised steel is coated with a layer of zinc that protects the metal from corrosion in normal outdoor conditions. The rotary head with ball bearings turns in the wind and actively extracts air from the duct, while the base allows the deflector to be installed on the roof with a tight seal. - If the duct ends at roof level, add a base of the same D.

The deflectors in this category are designed for ventilation ducts – to extract humid and warm air. Do not install them on stove, fireplace or boiler flues: hot flue gases and acidic condensate will damage them, creating a risk of fire and carbon monoxide.

- Fix mechanically (with screws, rivets or a clamp), not with sealant alone.
- Seal the joint with the roof covering using a sealant resistant to UV and temperature changes.

How long does a galvanised deflector last?
In a normal outdoor environment the zinc coating protects the steel for many years. In coastal areas, near livestock farms or industrial sites corrosion is faster – choose stainless steel there.
Can a galvanised deflector be painted?
Yes, using a primer and paint designed for galvanised surfaces. If colour matters from the start, a factory-painted deflector is more convenient.
What do the dimensions in the name, e.g. 300×100, mean?
