  • Cable gland with nut and seal | PG63 | for cable Ø42–54 mm | black | IP68 | ES-PG63B

    Code: ES-PG63B

ES-PG63B is a black cable gland with nut and seal, PG63 thread, for one cable with an outer Ø of 42–54 mm. Protection IP68 (according to supplier data), intended for the largest low-voltage power cables. PG63 is not a DIN 40430 size – measure the thread before installation.

  • Cable gland with nut and seal | PG63 | for cable Ø42–54 mm | black | IP68 | ES-PG63B

ES-PG63B is a black cable gland with nut and seal for bringing one cable with an outer Ø of 42–54 mm into a board or enclosure through a PG63 entry. The gland is screwed into the enclosure, and the tightened nut compresses the seal around the cable. According to supplier data, the protection degree is IP68.

    Key point:
PG63 is the largest size of the ES-PG series, intended for the largest low-voltage power cables. Cables of this Ø are typically 4-core 95–150 mm² power cables – this is only a guide, because the gland is selected by the outer cable Ø, which is worth measuring with a caliper. When a thick cable enters through an open hole or a wrongly sized gland, moisture and dust get into the board. PG63 is not a DIN 40430 size, so measure the opening thread with a caliper before installation.

    How it works

Measure the outer cable Ø and prepare a PG63 entry in the enclosure according to the measured gland thread.

The gland is screwed into the enclosure, the cable is pushed through and the nut is tightened by hand and with a spanner.

The seal grips the cable sheath – the entry is sealed (IP68) and the cable is held in place.

    Why choose ES-PG63B?
One size covers cables from Ø42 to Ø54 mm, so there is no need to hunt for an exact match for every cable on site. Tightness comes from the seal and the nut, not from sealant, so the entry looks neat and can be loosened when the cable is replaced.

    Technical specifications

Product type Cable gland with nut and seal
    Code ES-PG63B
Thread PG63 – not a DIN 40430 size, measure the thread with a caliper
Cable Ø (clamping range) 42–54 mm
    Number of cables 1
Protection degree IP68 (EN 60529), according to supplier data
    Colour Black
Installation Screwed into the enclosure / board, tightened by hand and with a spanner
Certificates CE, SGS, RoHS (according to supplier data)

    Main functions

    • Seals the cable entry – the seal grips the sheath, IP68
    • Holds the cable – the tightened nut stops it from sliding freely
    • Closes the enclosure opening – moisture and dust stay out of the board
    • Protects the sheath – the cable does not touch the sharp edge of the hole
    • PG63 thread – screwed into the enclosure or board
    • Range Ø42–54 mm – one size for several cable types

    Where is it used?

    • Main incoming cables into boards of industrial and commercial buildings
    • Low-voltage (0.4 kV) substation boards
    • Power outputs of standby generators
    • AC combiner boards of large PV plants
    • Boards of large pumping and compressor stations
    • Main industrial distribution cabinets

    Use by need

    For the designer.
There is a threaded IP68 entry for the largest Ø42–54 mm cable, but the specification should state that the PG63 thread is checked on site.
    For the panel manufacturer.
One large cable enters through one opening with a nut, without a membrane entry plate.
    For the PV installer.
A thick AC combiner cable is brought into the board tightly sealed with an IP68 gland.

    Practical application

If a cable with an outer Ø of 48 mm is brought into the main board, ES-PG63B fits it – but first measure the thread of the gland and of the opening with a caliper, because PG63 is not a DIN 40430 size and threads of different makers may differ.

    Pros

    • IP68 according to supplier data
    • Wide range – Ø42–54 mm in one size
    • The tightened nut holds the cable – no sealant needed
    • Installed by hand and with a spanner, no special tools
    • CE, SGS, RoHS – according to supplier data
    • Black colour matches dark enclosures, machines and equipment
    • Complete ES-PG series – from PG7 to PG63, grey and black

    Cons / limitations

    • The supplier does not state the material or operating temperature – check for special conditions (heat, chemicals)
    • IP68 immersion conditions (depth, duration) are not stated – check before permanent underwater use
    • One gland – one cable; several cables need several entries or a membrane entry plate
    • For a cable thinner than Ø42 mm choose ES-PG48B (Ø37–44 mm); there is no larger ES-PG size above Ø54 mm – use the membrane plate HTX-1 (one cable Ø55–70 mm)
    • PG63 is not a DIN 40430 size and the thread length is not stated – check the thread and wall thickness before installation

    Safety and installation notes

    • Work in the board only with the power disconnected and absence of voltage verified
    • After drilling or cutting, remove swarf from the board and clean the edge of the hole
    • Measure the outer cable Ø with a caliper before installation – it must be within 42–54 mm
    • Tighten the nut evenly: first by hand, then with a spanner, do not overtighten
    • Do not bring several cables through one gland
    • PG63 is not a DIN 40430 size – measure the gland thread with a caliper before drilling or tapping the opening

    Quick selection guide

    Thread: PG63 – measure
    Cable: Ø42–54 mm
    Protection: IP68
    Colour: black
    Suitable when you need:
    • to bring one cable Ø42–54 mm into a board or enclosure
    • IP68 tightness at the cable entry
    • a black entry for dark enclosures or machines
    Check before use:
    • outer cable Ø (42–54 mm)
    • the opening thread – PG63 is not a DIN 40430 size, measure with a caliper
    • whether the wall thickness and the gland thread length match
Important reminder: ES-PG63B seals a single-cable entry, but it is not a fire barrier and does not replace cable fixing along the route; several cables need several entries or a membrane entry plate.

    FAQ

What cable size does ES-PG63B fit?
One cable with an outer Ø of 42–54 mm; the conductor cross-section in mm² does not determine the gland size.
    What entry is required?
PG63 is not a DIN 40430 size – choose the opening after measuring the gland thread with a caliper.
Can several cables pass through one gland?
No – one gland is for one round cable; several cables need several entries or a membrane plate, e.g. HIK-1 or HIK-2 (up to Ø64 mm).
What material is it made of and what temperature is it rated for?
The supplier does not state the material or operating temperature, so we do not claim them; if your project requires this, contact us before ordering.
Is the black version more UV resistant?
The supplier does not state UV resistance – black is chosen for the look of the enclosure; the same size in grey is ES-PG63.
Will ES-PG63B fit a PG63 opening made for another brand?
Not necessarily: PG63 is not a DIN 40430 size, so measure both the opening thread and the gland thread with a caliper before installation.
