Push-in cable grommet | for M12–M80 holes | for cable Ø3–60 mm | dark grey | IP67 | HT MET-M
MET-M is a push-in cable grommet by HT Hi Tech Polymers (Finland), made of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer). It is fitted into a round hole in the enclosure and seals one cable to IP67. Nine sizes for cables from Ø3 to Ø60 mm.
Key point:
When a cable needs IP67 but there is no room or need for a thread and nut, MET-M closes the hole in one move. The number after M is the mounting hole size, and each code has its own cable Ø range. Before drilling, measure the hole with a caliper and check it against the chosen variant.Cable Ø

9How it works
Measure the outer cable Ø and pick the code; prepare the enclosure hole according to the number after M.
Press the grommet into the hole and pull the cable through within the manufacturer's range.
The flexible TPE hugs the cable and closes the hole – IP67 when the cable Ø is within the variant's range.
What does the HT MET-M grommet give you?
It gives IP67 without thread, nut or spanners – fitted by hand. Nine sizes from thin control cables (Ø3–5 mm) to large power cables (Ø40–60 mm) let you use one type of entry across the whole installation.Technical specifications

- IP67 without thread or nut – pressed in by hand
- 9 sizes – for cables Ø3–60 mm
- Clear marking – the number after M gives the mounting hole size
- Flexible TPE – hugs the cable and closes the hole
- One solution – from control cables to large power cables
Where is it used?
- Junction boxes in basements, pump rooms and heating substations
- Cable entries through the bottom of automation panels
- Enclosures in dusty industrial areas
- Machine housings and control pendants
- Control boxes of ventilation and heating units
- Entries of large power cables (up to Ø60 mm) into distribution cabinets
- Sealing holes freed up during refurbishment of existing panels
Use by need
For the automation panel builder.
Uniform IP67 entries for all cables from Ø3 to Ø60 mm, with no threads or nuts to kit.For the installer.
Fitted by hand, with the size chosen by the outer cable Ø and the hole marking. For the facility manager.
Cable holes in boxes in damp rooms are closed to IP67, so less moisture and dust gets inside.Practical application
If a Ø12 mm cable has to go into a pump room junction box, choose MET-M23 (for cable Ø10–14 mm), measure the hole with a caliper and check it against the M23 marking, press the grommet in, pull the cable through and fix it inside the box.Pros
- IP67 (EN 60529)
- For cables from Ø3 to Ø60 mm
- Fitted by hand, no spanners
- No thread or nut needed
- TPE hugs the cable
- Dark grey suits darker enclosures
Cons / limitations
- Does not provide strain relief – fix the cable inside or choose a gland with nut (e.g. 00841 PG13.5, Ø6–12 mm, IP68)
- For MET-M23, MET-M38 and MET-M48, measure the hole with a caliper before drilling and check it against the specific variant
- For cables thinner than Ø3 mm – HSS-M9 grommet (cable Ø2–7 mm)
- One hole – one cable; for many cables a membrane cable entry plate HTC-50 is more convenient
Safety and installation notes
- Drill holes and lead in cables only with the power disconnected
- Remove chips after drilling and clean the edge of the hole
- IP67 is achieved only when the cable Ø is within the variant's range and the hole matches the marking
- Fix the cable inside the enclosure
- The grommet is not a fire barrier
Quick selection guide
Cable: Ø3–60 mmHole: by the number after MIP67Material: TPESuitable when you need:- an IP67 cable entry without thread or nut
- uniform entries for cables from Ø3 to Ø60 mm
- quick hand fitting in damp or dusty rooms
Check before use:- the outer cable Ø – it must be within the variant's range
- the hole size in the enclosure – measure it with a caliper and compare with the number after M
- whether the cable needs strain relief
Important reminder: The MET-M grommet does not replace a cable gland with nut where the cable needs strain relief, and it is not a fire barrier.FAQ
What does the number after M (M12, M20 … M80) mean?
It is the mounting hole size in the enclosure – e.g. MET-M20 is for an M20 hole; measure the hole with a caliper before fitting. How do I choose the size?
By the outer cable Ø: e.g. for a Ø12 mm cable – MET-M23 (Ø10–14 mm), for Ø18 mm – MET-M32 (Ø14–20 mm).Two sizes fit a Ø42 mm cable – which one?
Both MET-M60 (Ø35–45 mm) and MET-M80 (Ø40–60 mm) fit – choose by the existing or planned hole in the enclosure. What is the IP rating?
IP67, when the cable Ø is within the variant's range and the hole matches the marking.Does the grommet hold the cable against pull-out?
No, fix the cable inside the enclosure or choose a PG cable gland with nut.Can several cables go through one grommet?
No, one grommet is for one cable; for several cables use a membrane cable entry plate such as HTC-50.Manufacturer documents
