  • Cable gland with nut and seal | PG7 | for cable Ø3–6.5 mm | grey | IP68 | ES-PG7

    Code: ES-PG7

Grey cable gland with a PG7 thread, compression nut and seal. It seals one round cable with an outer diameter of 3–6.5 mm – thin signal and control cables (sensors, limit switches, thermostats, push-buttons). Protection IP68 (EN 60529), thread length 8 mm.

  • Cable gland with nut and seal | PG7 | for cable Ø3–6.5 mm | grey | IP68 | ES-PG7

ES-PG7 is a grey cable gland with a PG7 thread, compression nut and seal. It is screwed into a PG7 hole in an enclosure or panel, tightened by hand and finished with a spanner. The seal grips one round cable with an outer diameter of 3–6.5 mm and closes the gap between the cable and the enclosure.

    Key point:
PG7 is the smallest size in the ES-PG series: the 12.5 mm thread outer diameter fits on the narrow wall of a sensor box or small control station, and the Ø3–6.5 mm range clamps even a thin signal cable tightly. The grey version suits light grey enclosures and plastic junction boxes.

    How it works

Installation. With the power off, the gland is screwed into the PG7 hole, then the cable is passed through the loosened nut and seal.

Operation. The nut is tightened by hand and finished with a spanner – the seal is compressed evenly around the Ø3–6.5 mm cable sheath and holds the cable at the same time.

Result. A sealed IP68 entry (EN 60529): dust-tight and intended for continuous immersion – the exact IP68 test conditions (depth and duration) are defined by the manufacturer.

    Why choose ES-PG7?
It lets you bring a thin cable into a small enclosure with IP68 sealing – where a larger gland would neither fit nor seal tightly around such a cable.

    Main functions

    • IP68 sealing – protection against dust and continuous immersion (EN 60529).
    • PG7 thread – thread outer diameter 12.5 mm, thread length 8 mm.
    • Range Ø3–6.5 mm – thin signal and control cables (sensors, limit switches, thermostats, push-buttons).
    • Nut with seal – seals and holds the cable, reducing pull on the terminals.
    • Simple tightening – by hand, finished with a spanner, no special tools.
    • Grey colour – matches light grey enclosures and junction boxes.

    Where is it used?

    • Temperature, pressure and level sensor housings
    • Connection boxes for limit switches and inductive sensors
    • Small control stations with push-buttons and indicator lamps
    • Sensor entries in drainage wells and pumping stations where flooding is possible
    • Control boxes for outdoor lighting and irrigation systems
    • Equipment housings where a signal cable enters through the wall
    • Replacing an old cracked PG7 entry during repairs

    Use by need

    For automation installers.
Sensor and push-button cables are thin – the Ø3–6.5 mm range clamps them without extra bushings and keeps IP68.
    For equipment manufacturers.
The small 12.5 mm thread outer diameter allows several entries even on a narrow enclosure wall.
    For facility managers.
In basements and wells that may flood, an IP68 entry in the sensor box reduces the risk of faults and repeat call-outs.

    Practical application

If you are installing a level sensor connection box in a drainage well and the signal cable entering it measures 5 mm in outer diameter, ES-PG7 is the right size: screw the gland into the PG7 hole, pass the cable through, tighten the nut by hand and finish with a spanner until the cable no longer moves in the seal.

    Pros

    • IP68 to EN 60529 – higher protection than the IP67 series
    • Clear Ø3–6.5 mm range for one PG7 size
    • The nut seals and holds the cable at the same time
    • Tightened by hand and spanner – quick installation
    • CE, SGS, RoHS – according to supplier data
    • The same size is also available in black – ES-PG7B

    Cons / limitations

    • Limited range: the gland will not seal a cable thinner than 3 mm tightly, and for one thicker than 6.5 mm choose ES-PG9 (PG9, Ø4–8 mm).
    • One gland – one round cable; not suitable for flat cables or several wires.
    • Thread length 8 mm – may not be enough for a thick enclosure wall (especially with a locknut).
    • Material and operating temperature are not stated in our data – for special conditions (heat, chemicals, direct sunlight) confirm the parameters before ordering.
    • Not a fire barrier – does not replace cable penetrations through fire-rated walls.

    Safety and installation notes

    • Work in the panel or box only with the power off and absence of voltage verified.
    • After drilling or threading remove all swarf from the enclosure – it can cause a short circuit.
    • Drill a plain hole to the thread outer diameter of 12.5 mm – sealing is not ensured in an oversize hole.
    • Tighten the nut by hand, then with a spanner until the cable no longer moves in the seal; overtightening can damage the thread or seal.
    • Run the cable from below or with a drip loop so that water does not run along the cable to the entry.

    Quick selection guide

    PG7 thread (Ø 12.5 mm)
    Cable Ø3–6.5 mm
    IP68, thread length 8 mm
    Grey – ES-PG7
    Suitable when you need:
    • to seal one round cable Ø3–6.5 mm
    • an IP68 entry where flooding or long-term moisture is possible
    • the entry to match a light grey enclosure or box
    Check before use:
    • The cable outer diameter with a caliper – it must be 3–6.5 mm.
    • The hole: threaded PG7 or a plain Ø 12.5 mm hole (a locknut is then needed – check what is supplied) and whether the 8 mm thread is enough for the wall.
    • Operating conditions: material, operating temperature and IP68 immersion depth are not stated in our data.
Important reminder: The gland seals and holds one cable, but it is not a fire barrier and does not replace the sealing of cable penetrations through fire-rated walls.

    FAQ

What cable size does ES-PG7 fit?
A cable with an outer diameter of 3–6.5 mm – measure the sheath with a caliper, not the conductor cross-section in mm².
Is PG7 suitable for a 3×1.5 mm² power cable?
Usually not – the outer diameter of such a cable is typically above 6.5 mm; check the dimension and, if needed, choose ES-PG9 (PG9, Ø4–8 mm).
What is the difference between ES-PG7 and ES-PG7B?
Only the colour: ES-PG7 is grey, ES-PG7B is black; thread, range and IP68 are the same, UV resistance is not stated, so choose the colour to suit the enclosure.
    Can PG-07 / PG-07B be used instead of ES-PG7?
Yes, where IP67 is enough and the cable fits the Ø3.5–6 mm range; where the entry may be under water for a long time, stay with IP68 – ES-PG7 or the grey 00810 (same size and range).
What hole size is needed in the enclosure?
For a threaded hole – a PG7 thread; a plain hole to the thread outer diameter of 12.5 mm, secured from inside with a locknut.
Can two wires be passed through one gland?
No – the seal only seals one round cable; use a separate gland for each cable.
