  • Wireless crane remote control | 4 two-step buttons + START/STOP | 2 speeds | 10 A relays | IP65 | ES-21-4D

    Code: ES-21-4D

Compact wireless remote for a 2-speed hoist or crane: 4 two-step buttons – half press for slow speed, full press for fast. It has a mushroom STOP and START; receiver relays are rated 10 A.

  • Wireless crane remote control ES-21-4D – 4 two-step buttons, 2 speeds

ES-21-4D is a radio remote for a hoist or crane with two motions and two speeds. A button press on the transmitter is sent by radio to the receiver, and the receiver relays switch the direction and speed contactor coils.

    Key point:
Each button has two steps: the first gives slow speed for precise load placement, the second fast speed for travel. This is useful when the hoist has a 2-speed motor or a frequency inverter and the operator wants both speeds under one hand.

    How it works

The receiver is mounted on the crane and wired into the control circuit: supply from the control circuit voltage, direction relays to the direction contactor coils, the speed relay to the fast-speed contactor or inverter input, the MAIN relay to the main contactor KM0.

START energises the main contactor. A half press of a button runs that direction at slow speed, a full press adds fast speed. The mushroom STOP or loss of signal drops the MAIN relay and the crane stops.

The operator accelerates smoothly at fast speed and places the load precisely at slow speed, without changing hand position or looking for a separate speed switch.

    Why choose ES-21-4D?
The most compact way to run a 2-speed hoist from a wireless remote. Two-step buttons reduce load swing and impacts when setting down.

    Main functions

    • Two-step buttons – slow and fast speed on one button
    • 4 directions – hoist up / down and trolley or bridge left / right
    • Mushroom STOP – easy to find and hit in an emergency
    • START / ON – the crane does not start just by pressing a direction button
    • MAIN relay – drops the main contactor on STOP or loss of signal
    • 10 A relays – with margin for contactor coils

How does it differ from similar models?

    • ES-21-4S – Same 4-button remote but single-speed, with an OFF/ON/START key. Suits a simple single-speed hoist.
    • LCC-202 – 2 two-step buttons – hoisting up / down only at 2 speeds, 230 V AC receiver.
    • ES-24-8D – 8 two-step buttons – when you need 3–4 motions (hoist, trolley, bridge).
    • ES-F21-4SE – 4 buttons, 1 speed, 868 MHz – when you need an EU SRD frequency and one speed is enough.

    Where is it used?

    • 2-speed electric hoists
    • Overhead and gantry cranes with a trolley
    • Precise load placement in assembly and repair shops
    • Winches and lifts with a frequency inverter
    • Replacing a 2-speed pendant with a wireless remote

    Use by need

    For electricians
Wired like a 2-speed pendant: direction relays, speed relay and MAIN – each to its own contactor coil.
    For manufacturing companies
Slow speed reduces impacts and load swing – less damage to products and equipment.
    For construction sites / warehouses
The operator sees the load up close and can stand in a safe spot without dragging a cable.

    Practical use

If a hoist sets down moulds or machine parts and millimetre accuracy is needed, then ES-21-4D lets you approach fast on step two and lower the last centimetres slowly on step one.

    Pros

    • 2 speeds via two-step buttons
    • Mushroom STOP and separate START
    • 10 A receiver relays
    • IP65 transmitter
    • Compact one-hand housing

    Cons / limitations

    • Only 2 motions – ES-24-8D handles more
    • Needs a 2-speed motor or frequency inverter – for a single-speed hoist ES-21-4S is enough
    • Radio frequency and receiver supply are selected when ordering – they must be specified

    Safety and installation notes

    • Receiver relays switch contactor coils only, never the motor directly – 10 A is for the control circuit.
    • The receiver supply voltage must match the contactor coil voltage.
    • Wire the MAIN relay into the main contactor KM0 circuit – STOP and loss of signal must stop the crane (EN 60204-32).
    • Limit switches (SQ) and NC interlocking of opposite directions stay in the circuit.
    • The fast-speed contactor must be interlocked so it cannot run without a direction – as with a pendant.
    • Before installation or repair, switch off the main isolator and lock it out (LOTO).

    Quick selection guide

    4 buttons
    2 speeds
    10 A relays
    IP65

    Check before ordering:

    • Contactor coil voltage = receiver supply – specify it when ordering.
    • Radio frequency – confirm it and check whether it is permitted in your country.
    • Whether the hoist has a 2-speed motor or inverter, and how many motions you need.

    FAQ

How do the two speeds work?
A half press gives slow speed, a full press gives fast speed. A 2-speed motor or frequency inverter is required.
Will it work with a single-speed hoist?
Technically only the first step will work, but ES-21-4S is the more logical choice then.
Can the receiver be wired directly to the motor?
No. The 10 A relays are for contactor coils; the motor is switched by contactors.
What happens if the signal is lost?
The receiver drops the MAIN relay and the main contactor, and the crane stops. Test this after installation.
    What is the range?
For ES-21-4S of the same series, up to ~75 m in open space is stated. Steel structures reduce the range.
Which receiver voltage should I order?
The same as your contactor coil voltage. Specify it when ordering.

    ES-21-4D – 4 buttons, 2 speeds
