Wireless crane remote control ES-24-8S – 8 buttons, 1 speed
The ES-24-8S is an industrial radio remote for operating a crane from a safe distance. When a button is pressed, the transmitter sends a coded command, the receiver relays energise the matching contactor coils, and the contactors switch the motors. Control range is up to 100 m.
Key point:
The receiver supply can be matched to the existing crane control circuit – 24, 36, 48, 220 or 380 V – so no extra control transformer is needed. 8 buttons are enough for three motion axes and two auxiliary functions.Buttons

24–380 V, relays 8 AHow it works
The receiver is mounted in or next to the crane control cabinet. Its supply voltage must match the contactor coil control circuit voltage (24/36/48/220/380 V), and the relay outputs are wired to the direction contactor coils.
Turning the key and pressing START energises the MAIN relay and the main contactor KM0. Pressing the STOP or losing the radio link must drop out KM0 and stop the crane – this is an EN 60204-32 requirement; verify it during commissioning.
The operator stands where the load is best visible instead of next to a pendant. Single-speed buttons are simple – fewer mistakes when different staff use the remote.
Why choose the ES-24-8S?
Easy to adapt to different control voltages, including 380 V coil circuits on older cranes. Simple single-speed control without extra equipment.Technical specifications
Product type Wireless crane remote control (transmitter + receiver) Model ES-24-8S Package contents Transmitter, receiver Buttons 8 buttons; START, STOP, rotary key switch Speeds 1 Control range up to 100 m Receiver sensitivity −110 dBm Receiver supply 24, 36, 48, 220 or 380 V (selected when ordering) Receiver relay contacts 8 A, sealed relays Transmitter power 2 × AA Protection rating IP65 Main functions
- STOP – drops out main contactor KM0 and stops all motions
- START and key switch – the remote cannot be switched on without the key
- Single-speed buttons – one relay drives one contactor coil
- 24–380 V receiver supply – selected to match the existing control circuit
- 2 × AA power – batteries available anywhere
- 8 A relays – for switching contactor coils
How does it differ from similar models?
- ES-24-8D – 8 two-step buttons – slow and fast speed, R1/R2 functions.
- ES-24-10S – 10 buttons, 1 speed – more channels for auxiliary functions.
- ES-ML-K6 – 6 direction buttons, 868 MHz, IP68 – when an EU SRD frequency and higher sealing are needed.
Where is it used?
- Overhead cranes in production halls
- Jib and wall-mounted cranes at workstations
- Gantry cranes in warehouses and steel yards
- Electric hoists and winches
- Transfer carts and rail trolleys
- Replacing old pendant controls with radio control
Use by need
For electricians
Clear logic: relay → contactor coil, STOP → KM0. The existing crane circuit stays, only the control station changes. For manufacturers
The operator works from a safe position with sight of the load – fewer impacts and less downtime. For construction / warehouse yards
IP65 transmitter and control up to 100 m – suitable for outdoor and unheated areas.Practical use
If the contactor coils on an older overhead crane run on 380 V, then order the ES-24-8S with a 380 V receiver and connect it directly to the existing control circuit, keeping the limit switches and NC interlocks.Pros
- Simple single-speed control – easy to wire and train operators
- Key switch and START – protection against accidental start-up
- Receiver supply selectable from 24 to 380 V
- Receiver sensitivity −110 dBm
- IP65 transmitter, 2 × AA batteries
Cons / limitations
- Radio frequency is not stated in the data – confirm before ordering
- 8 A relays are for the control circuit only – contactors are required
- Only 1 speed – for precise positioning choose the ES-24-8D
- Range up to 100 m – for larger yards choose a longer-range model
Safety and installation notes
- Receiver relays switch contactor coils only – motor current flows through contactors, not through the remote.
- Wire the STOP / MAIN relay into the main contactor KM0 circuit: STOP and loss of the radio link must stop the crane (EN 60204-32).
- Keep limit switches (SQ) and NC interlocks between opposite directions in the control circuit – the remote does not replace them.
- The receiver supply voltage must match the control circuit voltage.
- If the crane runs on a frequency inverter, the relays go to the inverter control inputs, not to the motor circuit.
- Before installation or repair, open the main isolator and lock it out (LOTO).
Quick selection guide
8 buttons1 speed24–380 VIP65Check before ordering:
- Contactor coil voltage = receiver supply voltage.
- Ask to confirm the radio frequency and check whether it is permitted in your country.
- How many directions, speeds and auxiliary functions your crane needs.
FAQ
Can the receiver switch a motor directly?
No. The relays (8 A) are for the control circuit: they switch the contactor coils, and the contactors carry the motor current.Which receiver supply voltage should I choose?
The same as the contactor coil circuit voltage: 24, 36, 48, 220 or 380 V. Specify it when ordering. What is the radio frequency?
The frequency is not stated in the data for this item. Ask us to confirm it when ordering and check whether it is permitted in your country. What happens if the radio link is lost?
Under EN 60204-32 the crane must stop: the STOP/MAIN relay drops out main contactor KM0. Verify this during commissioning. Can I get two speeds?
No, this is a single-speed remote. If you need slow and fast speed, choose the ES-24-8D.What batteries does the transmitter use?
2 × AA. Keep spares so the remote does not go flat mid-shift.ES-24-8S – 8 buttons, 1 speed
A simple remote for cranes with single-speed motors and various control voltages. State the receiver voltage when ordering and confirm the frequency.
