Modular three-phase energy meter | 100 A | 3×230/400 V | 1 tariff | S0 pulse output | DIN | Zamel LEM-30
The Zamel LEM-30 is a modular three-phase energy meter for direct connection to 3-phase 4-wire 3×230/400 V networks up to 100 A. It is designed for internal metering in commercial and industrial sites, workshops or home circuits where you need to know how much a specific line or machine consumes.
Key point:
The meter measures active energy with accuracy class 1 (IEC 62053-21) and shows it on a backlit LCD. It connects directly up to 100 A without current transformers, and the S0 output at 1000 imp/kWh passes readings to a controller or pulse counting system. A simple, no-configuration solution – but without MID, so it is not for billing third parties.Max. current

1000 imp/kWhℹBidirectional metering
The manufacturer does not state whether energy fed back to the grid is recorded separately – there is one active energy register. If import and export must be separated, choose a bidirectional model such as the Orno OR-WE-517.Communication interfaces and integration
S0 pulse output
Open-collector (OC) output 12–27 V DC, <27 mA, 90 ms pulse, 1000 imp/kWh – connects to a PLC, pulse counter, data logger or a Home Assistant pulse input.RS485 / Modbus
Not available – readings are taken from the display or via S0 pulses.Operating principle
The meter mounts on a TH35 DIN rail and connects directly: L1, L2, L3, N inputs (1–4) and outputs (5–8). Main terminals accept 4–25 mm² conductors.
It measures three-phase active energy and accumulates it in one register; a red LED flashes in proportion to the load and S0 pulses are generated at the same rate.
The result is consumed energy in kWh on the backlit LCD (5+2 digits) plus a pulse signal for automation.
Why choose the Zamel LEM-30?
It separates the consumption of one line, machine or room up to 100 A cheaply and clearly, without current transformers. Sealable terminal covers protect against tampering.Technical specifications

- Backlit LCD – readable in the panel
- LED indication – shows load intensity
- Sealable terminal covers – tamper protection
How does it differ from similar models?
Ollo 3P-351 / ESTXM302 Also simple 100 A direct-connected models without communication – the choice comes down to brand and price. Orno OR-WE-520 80 A, but with MID and class B – when readings are used for billing. Eastron SDM630-MT 100 A, MID, RS485 Modbus, 4 tariffs – when remote reading and network parameters are needed. ELGAMA GAMA 300 100 A, 4 tariffs, billing-grade meter – when multi-tariff metering is required. Where is it used?
- Internal metering of lines and machines in industry
- Workshops and service centres
- Energy tracking of three-phase heat pumps, boilers, compressors
- Farm buildings and warehouses
- Construction site boards
- Monitoring of three-phase home supplies
Use by need
For energy managers.
A clear view of what a single line or machine consumes. For electricians.
Simple 3P+N wiring up to 100 A, nothing to configure. For automation engineers.
S0 at 1000 imp/kWh straight into a PLC or data logger.Practical use
If you want to know how much a three-phase compressor or heat pump uses each month, install the LEM-30 on its circuit in the panel and wire the S0 output to a PLC – consumption is visible without current transformers or the cost of MID.Pros
- Direct connection up to 100 A
- Accuracy class 1
- S0 output 1000 imp/kWh
- Backlit LCD
- Sealable terminal covers
- Wide operating range −25…+55 °C
Cons / limitations
- No MID – for billing choose the Orno OR-WE-520 or Eastron SDM630-MT
- No RS485 / Modbus – for remote reading see the Eastron SDM630-MT
- Single tariff
- Manufacturer does not state export metering – for separate import/export metering see the Orno OR-WE-517
Safety and installation notes
- Installation and wiring must be done by a qualified electrician with the supply isolated
- Size conductors (4–25 mm²) and protection for the load and the 100 A limit
- Follow the input (1–4) and output (5–8) wiring diagram
- Do not load the S0 output above 27 mA and 27 V DC
- Fit the terminal covers and seal them if required
Quick selection guide
100 A directClass 1S0 1000 imp/kWhNo MID, 1 tariffSuitable when you need:- Internal consumption metering
- Direct connection up to 100 A
- A pulse signal for automation
Check before use:- That MID is not required for billing
- That the network is 3×230/400 V with N
- That conductors fit the 4–25 mm² terminals
Important reminder: The meter is not MID certified – its readings are not valid for official billing. It also does not replace circuit breakers, RCDs or surge protection.FAQ
Is the LEM-30 MID certified?
The manufacturer does not state MID, so the meter is intended for internal metering. What is the pulse constant?
1000 imp/kWh.Are current transformers needed?
No, it connects directly up to 100 A.Does it have Modbus?
No, only an S0 pulse output. How many modules does it take?
4 DIN rail modules.Does it measure energy exported to the grid?
The manufacturer does not state export metering – choose a bidirectional model for that, e.g. the Orno OR-WE-517.Zamel LEM-30 – three-phase 100 A meter for internal metering
The Zamel LEM-30 is a direct-connected three-phase 10(100) A meter with class 1, S0 at 1000 imp/kWh and a backlit LCD for internal energy cost metering.
