Multifunction Time Relay | 0.1s-30h | 230VAC / 24VAC/DC | DIN Multifunction Time Relay | 0.1s-30h | 230V AC / 24V AC/DC | 10 Functions
Multifunction time relay – a universal automation control device designed for controlling switching ON, switching OFF, pulses and other timing functions in electrical circuits. The relay has 10 selectable operating functions and an exceptionally wide time setting range from 0.1 seconds to 30 hours. The device can be powered by 150-260V AC or 24V AC/DC, features one 1-SPDT changeover relay contact, LED status indication and is designed for mounting on a standard 35mm DIN rail.
10 time-control functions in one deviceThe relay allows selection of ON delay, OFF delay, control-signal-triggered ON or OFF delay, single pulses, cyclic operation and other timing functions. The maximum time is selected with a separate range selector, while the precise value is set using the 0.1-1.0 multiplier. The total adjustable time range is from 0.1 seconds to 30 hours.

Function Mode Operating principle 1 ON Delay When power is applied, the preset time starts counting. When the time expires, the relay output is activated and remains active until the power supply is disconnected. 2 OFF Delay When power is applied, the relay is activated immediately. The time countdown begins, and when it expires, the relay is deactivated. 3 Control Signal ON Delay When the T control signal is received, the preset time starts counting. When the time expires, the relay is activated. If the control signal disappears during the delay period, the time countdown is interrupted and reset. 4 Control Signal OFF Delay When the T signal is received, the relay is activated. When the signal disappears, the delay countdown begins, and when it expires, the relay is deactivated. 5 Single Pulse with Control Signal When the T signal is received, the relay is activated for the preset time. A change in the control signal during the time countdown does not interrupt it. 6 Single Pulse After Signal When the T signal is received, the relay waits for the signal to switch off. When the signal disappears, the relay is activated for the preset time and then automatically deactivated. 7 ON and OFF Delay with Control When the T signal switches on, the ON delay begins, and when it switches off, the OFF delay begins. If the signal changes during the delay, the time countdown may be interrupted and reset. 8 Pulse Output with Control When the T signal is received, the relay is activated for the preset time and then switches off. A repeated signal allows a new pulse to be initiated according to the operating logic of the selected mode. 9 Cyclic Timer, Start ON When power is applied, the relay is activated and periodically switches between ON and OFF states according to the preset time. The cycle repeats for as long as the device is powered. 10 Cyclic Timer with Control The relay cyclically switches between ON and OFF states, while the T control input allows the cyclic operating process to be controlled or stopped. Time setting
The time value is set using two controls. The maximum-time selector is used to choose the main range, while the time multiplier control is used to set a value from 0.1 to 1.0.
Time calculation principleFinal time = selected maximum time (tm) × time multiplier (Xn). For example, when the 30-minute range and a multiplier of 0.5 are selected, the operating time will be 15 minutes.
Selected range Adjustment range 1s 0.1 – 1s 5s 0.5 – 5s 10s 1 – 10s 30s 3 – 30s 60s 6 – 60s 10min 1 – 10min 30min 3 – 30min 60min 6 – 60min 10h 1 – 10h 30h 3 – 30h How to set the relay?
- Before switching on the power supply, select the required operating function using the function selector.
- Use the maximum-time selector to choose the required range from 1 second to 30 hours.
- Use the time multiplier control to select a value from 0.1 to 1.0.
- Calculate the actual time by multiplying the maximum value of the selected range by the selected multiplier.
- Connect the device according to the electrical wiring diagram and only then switch on the power supply.
Important when changing the functionIt is recommended to select the operating function while the device is switched off. If the function is changed while the power supply is on, wait at least approximately 0.3 seconds before switching it on again. Otherwise, the newly selected function may not be recognised.

Disadvantages / limitations
- Function selection: it is recommended to change the operating function only when the device power supply is switched off.
- Limited relay contact load: the output contact is rated for up to 5A / 250V AC resistive load, therefore a contactor or interface relay must be used for higher loads.
- IP20 protection: the device is intended for installation inside an enclosed electrical or automation panel and must not be directly exposed to moisture.
- Mechanical adjustment: functions and time are set using adjustment knobs, therefore remote digital parameter programming is not available.
What is it suitable for? (Applications)
- Electrical and automation control panels
- Start-up or shutdown delay for motors, pumps and fans
- Lighting control systems
- Heating and ventilation automation
- Cyclic control of production equipment
- Generating pulse control signals
- Control of contactors and interface relays
- Industrial, commercial and residential building automation systems
What is it not suitable for?
- Direct switching of high-power electrical loads
- Open installation in damp or wet locations

Practical example
In a ventilation system, the fan must switch on only 15 minutes after receiving a start command. The ON Delay function is selected on the relay, the maximum-time selector is set to the 30-minute range, and the multiplier is set to 0.5. This results in a 15-minute delay. When the control circuit is activated, the relay begins counting the time, and after 15 minutes it activates the output contact, which can switch on the fan contactor.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
What is the relay's time setting range? The time can be set from 0.1 seconds to 30 hours by selecting the appropriate time range and a 0.1-1.0 multiplier.
How many operating functions does the relay have? The relay has 10 different operating functions, including ON and OFF delays, control-signal-triggered functions, pulse modes and cyclic modes.
What is the relay supply voltage?Using terminals A1-A2, the relay operates within the 150-260V AC range. Using terminals A2-A3, a 24V AC/DC power supply can be used.
How is the set time calculated? The selected maximum time range is multiplied by the 0.1-1.0 time multiplier. For example, 30min × 0.5 = 15min.
Does the relay have a cyclic operating function?Yes. The 10 operating modes include cyclic functions in which the relay output is periodically switched ON and OFF according to the preset time.
Can the relay be used with a contactor?Yes. The relay's 1-SPDT output contact can be used to energise a contactor coil or another automation control circuit.
What is the maximum relay contact load? The relay contact is rated for up to 5A / 250V AC resistive load. For higher loads, a suitable contactor or other power switching equipment must be used.
Important safety note for the installerUse the device according to its intended purpose and wiring diagram. Do not use it in a damp environment. Provide a suitable switch and automatic circuit breaker in the installation circuit. They must be installed near the device, in a location easily accessible to the operator, and marked as electrical circuit disconnecting devices. It is recommended to change the operating function and main settings only after disconnecting the device from the power supply.
MaintenanceBefore performing maintenance or cleaning, switch off the power supply and disconnect the device from the electrical circuit. Clean the housing with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use conductive materials, aggressive chemical cleaners or solvents that may damage the device. After cleaning, make sure that the relay operates correctly.
