Wall-mounted twilight switch with built-in sensor | 6 A | 5–15 lx | HOROZ Flash
HOROZ Flash (089-001-0001) is a compact twilight switch that turns the connected lighting on at dusk and off at dawn. The sensor is built into the housing, so no panel or separate sensor is needed: the switch is fixed to a wall outdoors or under a canopy and wired directly into the luminaire circuit. The 5–15 lx switching level matches the usual moment for yard and entrance lighting.
Key point:
When you need to automate one or a few luminaires at a house, garage or storage building, complex automation is not required. A wall-mounted twilight switch is installed in a few minutes, and the lights are on only when it is dark – without timers or a manual switch.Switching level

The light sensor in the housing continuously measures ambient light. When the light drops to the 5–15 lx level, the switch turns the connected lighting on, and in the morning, as the light increases, turns it off.
The switch is connected between the supply and the luminaire: phase and neutral come in, and the output goes to the lighting circuit. Since the sensor and the relay share one housing, the switch must be mounted where it sees daylight.
Why 5–15 lx?
At 5–15 lx it is clearly getting dark outside – this is when yard, path and entrance lighting is normally switched on. If lighting must be switched on earlier (shop windows, signage) or the level needs wider adjustment, choose a relay with a wider adjustment range.Technical specifications
Product type Wall-mounted twilight switch (photo relay) with built-in light sensor Manufacturer / model HOROZ Electric Flash (HL470), code 089-001-0001 Supply voltage 220–240 V AC, 50–60 Hz Maximum load 1000 W (6 A) Switching level 5–15 lx Protection class IP44 Dimensions 35 × 90 × 50 mm Mounting on a wall, outdoors or under a canopy Housing plastic, white and blue Main functions
- Automatic switch-on at dusk – lighting is on only when it is dark.
- Built-in sensor – no panel or separate sensor needed.
- Up to 1000 W / 6 A – enough to control several outdoor luminaires.
- IP44 housing – suitable for an outdoor wall protected from direct rain.
- Compact size – 35 × 90 × 50 mm, inconspicuous on a facade.
How does it differ from similar models?
- ES-G02 – 10 A load and a wider 10–250 lx range – when the level needs finer adjustment.
- ES-G03 – 10 A, 10–40 lx and a tighter IP65 housing – for more exposed outdoor locations.
- 65593 – 25 A output and 10–100 lx – when a larger load is connected directly.
- F&F AWZ – 16 A, adjustable 2–1000 lx level and IP65 – a more universal solution for facades and shop windows.
Where is it used?
- House entrance and terrace luminaires
- Yard, path and driveway lighting
- Garage, shelter and outbuilding luminaires
- Floodlights for warehouses and small sites
- Replacing a manual switch or timer in a simple outdoor circuit
Use by need
For the electrician.
Quick installation without a panel: switch on the wall, cables from below, lighting controlled automatically.For the home or country house owner.
Entrance and yard lit every evening, while luminaires do not burn needlessly during the day.For the farm or warehouse owner.
An inexpensive way to automate several outdoor floodlights without additional automation.Practical use
If two LED luminaires hang at the house entrance and have to be switched on by hand every evening, HOROZ Flash solves the problem. Mount the switch on the wall next to the luminaires, but so that their own light does not reach the sensor, bring the cables in from below and connect it into the existing circuit. From then on the lighting switches on at dusk and off in the morning without any adjustment.Pros
- Sensor and relay in one housing
- Load up to 1000 W / 6 A
- Wide 220–240 V AC, 50–60 Hz supply
- IP44 housing for an outdoor wall
- Compact 35 × 90 × 50 mm dimensions
Cons / limitations
- The manufacturer does not state a separate LED load – for LED floodlight groups with high inrush current use a modular contactor
- Narrow 5–15 lx range – for shop windows and earlier switch-on choose F&F AWZ or ES-G02
- IP44 – where rain falls directly on the housing, ES-G03 (IP65) is more suitable
- No timer for night-time switch-off
⚠ Safety and installation notes
- Mount the switch so that daylight reaches the sensor but the light of the controlled luminaires or car headlights does not – otherwise the lighting will flicker or switch off.
- The IP44 housing protects against splashes – choose a place under a canopy or eave, not a wall area exposed to rain.
- Bring the cables in from below so that water does not run along the cable into the housing.
- Do not exceed 1000 W / 6 A; for larger or LED loads with high inrush current the switch must control a contactor coil.
- Protect the circuit with a suitable circuit breaker.
- Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician after disconnecting and verifying the absence of voltage.
Quick selection guide
5–15 lx1000 W / 6 A220–240 V ACIP44, wall-mountedSuitable when you need to:- switch several outdoor luminaires on automatically at dusk;
- install the switch without a panel, directly on a wall;
- a simple and inexpensive solution for an entrance or yard.
Check before use:- the load power and type (LED groups – via a contactor);
- whether the mounting location is protected from direct rain;
- that the light of the controlled luminaires will not reach the sensor.
Important reminder: a twilight switch turns lighting on by light level, but it does not switch it off in the middle of the night and does not replace protective devices.☝ Elsprendimai.eu recommends:- Modular contactors – when the LED or floodlight group exceeds the relay's capability.
- Modular time relays – when lighting must be switched off after a set time.
- Photo relays and twilight switches – all twilight switches in one place.
FAQ
Is a separate sensor needed?
No, the sensor is built into the housing, so the switch itself is mounted where it sees daylight.How many luminaires can be connected?
Up to 1000 W / 6 A total load. For larger LED groups use a contactor because of the inrush current.Can it be mounted outdoors?
Yes, the housing is IP44 – ideally under a canopy or eave where rain does not fall directly on it.Why does the lighting flicker or switch off?
Usually the controlled luminaires themselves light up the sensor – move the switch or shield it from their light.When does the lighting switch on?
When ambient light drops to 5–15 lx – the usual moment of dusk.Wall-mounted twilight switch with built-in sensor | 5–15 lx | 6 A | HOROZ Flash
