  • Wireless crane remote control | 2 joysticks + 4 buttons | proportional | 315 MHz | 24 V receiver | IP65 | ES-ECD-Q5000

    Code: ES-ECD-Q5000

Belly-type crane remote with 2 joysticks, 4 buttons, an LCD display and a mushroom STOP. Proportional control for smooth load movement via frequency inverters, up to 225 m, IP65, −40…+85 °C.

  • Joystick crane remote: 2 joysticks, proportional control, IP65

ES-ECD-Q5000 is a belly-type wireless crane remote with two joysticks, 4 buttons, an LCD display and a mushroom-type STOP. The transmitter sends commands by radio to the receiver, and the receiver outputs control frequency inverters and contactor coils. Joystick deflection changes speed smoothly, not in steps.

    Key point:
Two joysticks let you control hoisting and travel at the same time with both hands, and proportional control reduces load sway. A response time of ≤20 ms and −40…+85 °C operating range suit heavy-duty outdoor work too.

    How it works

Mount the receiver on the crane next to the control panel and power it from the 24 V control voltage. Connect the proportional outputs to the inverter speed inputs, and the direction and auxiliary outputs to the contactor coils.

The mushroom STOP opens the main contactor KM0. On loss of radio link the receiver must switch off its outputs and the crane must stop (EN 60204-32) – test this during commissioning.

The operator works up to 225 m away in open space, starts and stops the load smoothly and sees the remote status on the LCD.

    Why choose ES-ECD-Q5000?
Proportional control lets you place the load precisely without jerks, meaning fewer shocks to the mechanisms and less load sway. The belly housing with two joysticks is comfortable for long shifts.

    Main functions

    • 2 joysticks – hoist and travel controlled separately, with both hands
    • Proportional control – smooth speed change via frequency inverters
    • 4 extra buttons – for auxiliary functions (horn, lighting, modes)
    • LCD display – remote status in the operator's view
    • Mushroom STOP – fast emergency stop
    • Response ≤20 ms – commands executed without noticeable delay
    • −40…+85 °C, IP65 – for unheated halls and outdoor use

How does it differ from similar models?

    • EL-F24-60 – also 2 joysticks, but 12–440 V AC/DC receiver – when the control circuit is not 24 V
    • ES-CRC687 – joystick remote at 433 MHz – within the EU SRD band
    • ES-D1 – 4 levers and up to 500 m – more axes and longer range

    Where is it used?

    • Overhead cranes with frequency inverters
    • Gantry and semi-gantry cranes
    • Cranes for precise positioning (moulds, machinery, steel structures)
    • Outdoor storage yards and warehouses
    • Upgrading a crane from push-button to joystick control

    Use by need

    For electricians
proportional outputs go to inverter inputs, STOP into the KM0 circuit
    For manufacturers
precise load placement and less wear on mechanisms
    For construction / warehouse yards
IP65 and −40…+85 °C – outdoor work all year round

    Practical use

If an overhead crane already has inverters for hoist and travel, then with this remote the operator starts slowly and increases speed evenly by tilting the joystick. This is especially useful when placing expensive machinery or moulds.

    Pros

    • 2 joysticks with proportional control
    • LCD display and mushroom STOP
    • Response ≤20 ms
    • Wide operating range −40…+85 °C
    • Glass-fibre reinforced PA66 housing

    Cons / limitations

    • 315 MHz is usually not a permitted SRD band in the EU – ES-CRC687 (433 MHz) is often the better fit for the EU market
    • Proportional control requires frequency inverters – on a contactor crane only part of its features are used
    • 24 V receiver – for other control voltages choose EL-F24-60 (12–440 V AC/DC)
    • A belly remote is larger than a handheld one – it is worn on a strap

    Safety and installation notes

    • Receiver outputs switch only the control circuit – contactor coils and inverter inputs, not motors.
    • The 24 V receiver supply must match the control circuit voltage.
    • STOP opens the main contactor KM0; loss of link must stop the crane (EN 60204-32).
    • Limit switches (SQ) and opposite-direction interlocking remain in the circuit.
    • Set inverter acceleration and deceleration times to suit the load and mechanism.
    • Before installation or servicing – LOTO on the main isolator.

    Quick selection guide

    2 joysticks
    proportional
    up to 225 m
    IP65

    Check before ordering:

    • The control circuit voltage must be 24 V – otherwise choose EL-F24-60.
    • Check whether 315 MHz is permitted in your country; for the EU market we offer the 433 MHz remote ES-CRC687.
    • Whether the crane drives have inverters for proportional control, and how many directions and auxiliary functions you need.

    FAQ

    What does proportional control mean?
The further you tilt the joystick, the higher the speed. The crane drives must be controlled by frequency inverters for this.
Is it suitable for a crane without inverters?
It can be wired via contactors, but then speed changes in steps, not smoothly. Inverters are needed to use the full potential.
Is 315 MHz permitted in the EU?
315 MHz is usually not a permitted SRD band in the EU. Check your national rules or choose the 433 MHz remote ES-CRC687.
    What is the operating range?
Up to ~225 m in open space. In halls with steel structures the range is shorter.
What happens on loss of link?
The receiver must switch off its outputs and open the main contactor – the crane stops. Test this during commissioning.
Can a motor be connected directly to the receiver?
No. The receiver drives contactor coils and inverter inputs; motors are supplied by inverters or contactors.
