    FAMATEL MAGNA 39157 is a sealed, surface-mounted plastic enclosure measuring 700x500x245 mm for mounting distribution and automation equipment outdoors or in damp rooms. The ABS housing has double insulation, a white door with a lock, and a height-adjustable metal mounting plate – equipment is installed on the plate, while the housing protects it from dust, water jets and impacts.

    Key idea:
    When automation, a drive or distribution equipment needs to sit outdoors, against a building wall, or in a production hall, a metal box rusts and cheap plastic cracks in the sun. The MAGNA series solves both problems: UV-resistant ABS, IP65 sealing and Class II insulation with no enclosure earthing required.

    How it works

    The enclosure is fixed to a wall or structure using the mounting brackets included in the kit – the fixing screws stay outside the sealed zone, so the housing's tightness is not compromised. Inside, equipment is mounted on the metal plate: DIN rails with breakers, contactors, controllers, frequency inverters, terminal blocks.

    Cables enter through holes drilled at the bottom or sides as needed, fitted with sealing cable glands – there are no pre-drilled holes in the housing, so each entry is made exactly where it's needed. The plate height is adjustable, so that deeper equipment still fits under the door. The door closes with a plastic lock; a perimeter gasket ensures IP65.

    What makes the 39157 worthwhile?
    It's a mid-sized enclosure that holds a full site control panel or automation node, and it requires no enclosure earthing. The ABS housing doesn't block GSM or radio signals – a modem or Wi-Fi controller mounted inside works without an external antenna.

    Safety and installation notes

    • Fix using only the brackets supplied in the kit – screws through the base of the housing break the seal.
    • Any equipment with a metal housing must be earthed inside via the PE terminal block, even though the enclosure itself doesn't require earthing.
    • After installation, check that the door gasket isn't pinched by cables.
