    Key idea:
This is not a billing meter, but a remote-monitoring and protection device. An ordinary circuit breaker reacts only to overload and short circuit, but it does not "see" a voltage rise, a broken neutral or unevenly loaded phases – and these are precisely the faults that most often damage fridges, boilers and electronics. The ES-EAEMP3-100-TY-W monitors these parameters continuously, disconnects the load when they go outside the set limits, and restores the supply automatically after a set delay.

    How it works

The meter is connected directly (without current transformers) into the three-phase line, downstream of the main breaker: L1, L2, L3 and N enter the upper terminals, the load is connected to the lower terminals. The internal measuring circuits continuously calculate the voltage, current and total consumed energy of each phase over a range of 0–9,999,999.9 kWh, and the built-in relay switch physically breaks all four poles whenever any parameter exceeds a set limit.

Protection limits are adjusted in the app: overvoltage limit 120–300 V (default 275 V), low voltage 80–210 V (175 V), overcurrent 1–100 A (80 A), phase imbalance 10–100% (20%), temperature alarm 10–85 °C (85 °C). After a trip, the device waits for the set delay time and, if the parameters have returned to normal, switches the supply back on by itself. The Wi-Fi module sends readings, history and alerts to the phone via the Tuya cloud, accepts remote on/off commands, and allows the device to be included in Tuya scenes or controlled by voice.

    What makes the ES-EAEMP3-100-TY-W worthwhile?
One 4P modular housing combines three functions that would otherwise require three separate devices: energy metering, a voltage relay with overcurrent and imbalance control, and a remotely controlled contactor. The board stays compact, and the owner sees consumption and network condition in real time even from another city.

    Key features

    • Remote monitoring and control – consumption, voltage and current visible in the app, the switch can be turned on or off from anywhere.
    • Overvoltage and low-voltage protection – if voltage moves outside the 175–275 V (default) range, the load is disconnected automatically.
    • Overcurrent and imbalance control – disconnects when current exceeds the set limit or the phase loads differ by more than allowed.
    • Temperature protection – an alarm is sent once a set temperature is reached, and the supply can be cut off.
    • Automatic restoration – after a fault, supply is restored according to the set delay, without manual intervention.
    • Energy metering and history – kWh readings, statistics and reports in the app for cost analysis.

    Where is it used?

    • Home supplies needing protection against voltage surges and a broken neutral
    • Rented flats and commercial premises – consumption monitoring and remote disconnection
    • Holiday homes, garages and workshops rarely visited by the owner
    • Offices, shops and restaurants with sensitive refrigeration and till equipment
    • Production premises – protecting sensitive machine tools and controllers from network fluctuations
    • Solar-power and generator boards – phase-load balance control

    Use by need

    For the domestic user.
Once the meter is installed downstream of the main breaker, your phone shows how much the house is consuming now and over the month, and if voltage rises (for example, due to a broken neutral), appliances are disconnected before they can be damaged. While away, you can check that everything is switched off and, if needed, cut the power remotely.
    For businesses and industry.
In premises without a permanent attendant, the device acts as a first line of alerts: a voltage drop, an overload or an overheating board is immediately visible on the phone. In rented premises, consumption can be monitored without a site visit, and a defaulting tenant's circuit can be switched off remotely.
    For electricians / engineers.
This is a direct-connection device up to 100 A – current transformers are not needed, but a circuit breaker is required upstream for short-circuit protection. Set the protection limits according to the object (for example, a higher-than-default low-voltage limit if the load is sensitive), and choose the restoration delay so that compressors have time to equalise. Wi-Fi must be reachable inside the board – a metal enclosure weakens the signal.

    Practical example

In a rented three-room flat with a 3x25 A supply, the meter is installed downstream of the main breaker, with the overvoltage limit set to 250 V, low voltage to 190 V, and the restoration delay to 60 s. One night, during a neighbour's renovation work, the neutral is broken and voltage on one phase spikes to 300 V: the device disconnects all four poles within a fraction of a second, the owner receives a notification, and the fridge, boiler and television are left undamaged. At the end of the month, the landlord reads the consumed kWh from the app without needing to visit the flat.

    Pros

    • Three devices in one – a meter, a voltage relay and a remotely controlled switch in a single 4P housing.
    • Adjustable limits – voltage, current, imbalance and temperature thresholds tailored to the specific object.
    • Automatic restoration – after a brief fault, supply returns without a site visit.
    • Remote disconnection – the load can be switched off from the app, for example when away or if a tenant has not paid.
    • Smart-home integration – scenes with other Tuya devices, voice commands via Google Assistant and Alexa.
    • Direct connection up to 100 A – no current transformers, quick installation in a standard board.

    Cons / limitations

    • No MID approval – readings are suitable for monitoring and internal metering, not for official billing with a supplier or a legally binding resale arrangement.
    • Does not replace a circuit breaker – no short-circuit protection, an MCB is required upstream.
    • 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only – 5 GHz networks are not supported; if the internet connection is lost, remote control stops working, although local protection remains active.
    • Data passes through the Tuya cloud – an account is required, and app configuration needs some attention.
    • Three-phase networks only – a single-phase installation requires a 2P model.

    Safety and installation notes

    • Carry out installation only with the supply disconnected and the absence of voltage confirmed – the device is connected to all three phases and the neutral.
    • Always fit a circuit breaker sized to the conductor cross-section (up to 100 A) upstream of the meter – it provides short-circuit protection.
    • Follow the terminal marking: supply from above, load from below; the neutral must be connected, otherwise voltage measurement and protection will not work correctly.
    • Set the overvoltage limit no lower than the actual network peaks, to avoid unnecessary trips; tune the imbalance limit to the actual load distribution.
    • Set the restoration delay so that compressors and pumps are not restarted repeatedly – a few tens of seconds is a safe minimum.
    • A board with metal doors weakens the Wi-Fi signal – check the connection with the board closed, or plan for an access point nearby.

    • whether the object's current does not exceed 100 A and there is a circuit breaker upstream of the meter;
    • whether a stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi signal is available where the board is located;
    • whether the network is three-phase 3×230/400 V with a neutral;
    • whether the protection limits and restoration delay are matched to the object's load.
    Important reminder:
The ES-EAEMP3-100-TY-W is a monitoring and protection device, not a billing meter – for official metering with a supplier or tenants where a legal basis is required, use an MID-approved meter. The device does not protect against short circuit – it requires a circuit breaker.

    FAQ

Can its readings be used to bill a tenant?
For a private agreement – yes, but the device has no MID approval, so legally binding billing requires a certified meter.
    Are current transformers needed?
No – it is a direct-connection device up to 100 A, conductors connect straight to the terminals.
Will protection still work if the internet is lost?
Yes – voltage, current, imbalance and temperature protection work locally; only remote monitoring and control stop working without the internet.
Does it replace a circuit breaker?
No – there is no short-circuit protection, an MCB is required upstream of the meter.
Is it suitable for a single-phase home?
No, the model is designed only for three-phase 3×230/400 V networks.
What happens after an overvoltage trip?
The device disconnects the load, sends a notification, and once voltage returns within limits, switches the supply back on after the set delay.
